Bismarck on the Potomac
National Review Online, by Editorial

President Barack Obama, who in his political dotage is enthusiastically getting in touch with his inner Otto von Bismarck to such an extent that we half expect him to start sporting a walrus mustache and a pickelhaube, on Saturday treated the ailing republic to another lecture on the theme of “economic patriotism,” by which he means an arrangement under which companies adopt tax strategies that maximize the amount of money they send to President Obama and his colleagues to dispose of as they see fit. He demanded that companies “embrace an economic patriotism,” presumably one defined by Barack Obama, rather

All indications are that Dear Leader Barack Hussein will not spend the next 2 years as a lame duck, but as an increasingly brazen and shameless Leftist, releasing his inner Mao, knowing that however out of constitutional bounds he gets he will not be met with more than a limp wrist slap, with impeachment forever off the table (thanks for the "opposition", GOP!). He is free now to do the damage he´s always dreamed of, with the full backing and cover of his paid-for Ministry of Truth. Fasten your seat belts.

Obama is more like a vampire who seeks to drain the life blood (profit) if not also to eat the body (assets) of the private sector in a desperate attempt to prop up a ruinous welfare state, but such actions would guarantee that the nation would spiral down into oblivion. Like every other leftist, he is oblivious to the fact that the nation grew prosperous because the private sector had the freedom to profit and grow. Their ignorance puts everyone in peril, from the richest to the poorest, not only here but around the world.

"Anyone may arrange his affairs so that his taxes shall be as low as possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which best pays the treasury. There is not even a patriotic duty to increase one’s taxes. Over and over again the Courts have said that there is nothing sinister in so arranging affairs as to keep taxes as low as possible. Everyone does it, rich and poor alike and all do right, for nobody owes any public duty to pay more than the law demands" — Judge Learned Hand

There are many of you good conservatives out there who can´t get impeachment off of your minds...unless there are some under cover agents in the mix.

Again, short and sweet the Republicans can´t begin impeachment precedings without control of the senate and if you don´t understand that fact...goggle the impeachment process. They are suing Obama for making law, which will stir the pot and be right in time for this years elections.

Obe would give up his coming 16 day vacation and stay at Camp David, if the Republicans were daft enough to try it. I am not saying our representative shouldn´t be jumping up and down...raising hell and taking names but it should be about the immigration fiasco that Obie is presently about to give 5 million amnesty. We need to get off our dead rears and call our Congressmen.

Obama can´t ruin the country alone. The people who follow his orders are just as culpable.

We can refuse to play a part in our own destruction. States can refuse to go along. The Border Control can refuse to go along. Local law enforcement can refuse to go along and Congress can refuse to fund his spending folly.

In other words the country could stage a two year sit-down strike. Unfortunately the future may include civil disobedience as a last resort.

# 11 The post of reality.
Impeachment sounds great , but, just " impeaching " without removal from office accomplishes bupkis.
Except to make the vampire stronger.
Grounds for impeachment require evidence .
Courtroom evidence , with eyewitnesses who will testify that Barry conspired in the Oval Office
or more likely , on the golf course or in the hot tub ,
to commit treason and other high crimes.
Incompetence , ineptness , laziness and
having a sly socialist agenda
are not legal grounds for impeachment.
It is mind boggling how many on the right are under the impression that Republicans control the Senate.
Thank you talk radio for spreading this low information.
Conviction and removal in the Senate requires the votes of 66 Senators.
Republicans have a scant 45 seats.
Here is the list of Democrat Senators -http://democrats.senate.gov/members/#.U9Z_-lZ0UfE
Good luck finding one that will vote to convict ,
let alone 21 to join 45 Republicans.

For those not as sophisticated and as knowledgeable as I am about historical German culture, a pickelhaube is a spiked helmet as worn by German soldiers before and during World War I.

OK, OK, so I Googled it and looked it up, actually on dictionary.com.

Zero is still looking for enough money to fund his healthcare disaster without driving the average taxpayer right out of the market and into the realm of John Galt. He has already given away too many waivers to buy votes so he is now reduced to wringing blood from turnips. We will eventually lose all major corporations to countries that are more accommodating and not so greedy.

At the supermarket near his home in central Virginia, Tom Burford likes to loiter by the display of Red Delicious. He waits until he spots a store manager. Then he picks up one of the glossy apples and, with a flourish, scrapes his fingernail into the wax: T-O-M. “We can’t sell that now,” the manager protests. To which Burford replies, in his soft Piedmont drawl: “That’s my point.” Burford, who is 79 years old, is disinclined to apple destruction. His ancestors scattered apple seeds in the Blue Ridge foothills as far back as 1713, and he grew up with more than 100 types

With all of the other news ricocheting around the media and social networks, this may seem like a sleeper of a story, but it’s a bigger deal than one might think — literally as well as figuratively. Last night, House Republicans unveiled their proposed continuing resolution that will fund government well past the midterm elections, and it won’t make conservatives like Rep. Jeb Hensarling too happy. The proposal calls for a simple extension of current funding, plus some extra cash to deal with the Ebola outbreak in Africa and more flexibility on the use of cash for border security. In the latest round of polls, President Obama´s approval ratings are lowest on the two issues that once were strengths—foreign policy and immigration. In this week´s ABC News/Washington Post poll, only 31 percent of Americans approved of his handling of immigration, an issue that he recently hoped to wield as a political weapon against the Republican Party. And the same survey showed his approval on international affairs at just 38 percent—the lowest point of his presidency and an 8-point drop from late July—even as he catered to the creeping isolationist sentiment in the country. Martha Coakley may have won the Massachusetts’ Democratic governor primary, but her slim six-point margin of victory isn’t doing much to assuage Democrats worried about another 2010. Coakley took 42 percent of the vote to Steve Grossman’s 36 percent and Don Berwick’s 21 percent on Tuesday’s election. Coakley’s six-point margin is a rather uncomfortable primary win, particularly given that Coakley had a 20-point lead in The Boston Globe poll as recently as two weeks ago.
