18 of the Most Cringe-Worthy Phrases
Ever Spoken By a Politician

Independent Journal Review, by Reid

Original Article

Posted By:MissMolly, 7/28/2014 5:14:36 AM

When we think of politicians, we tend to think (or at least hope) that they are somewhat intelligent people. However, sometimes even the most intelligent people have some not-so-intelligent moments. Here are 18 of them: 1.) “If a president of the United States ever lied to the American people he should resign.” – President Bill Clinton (D). 2.) “The Gulf War was like teenage sex. We got in too soon and out too soon.” - Senator Tom Harkin (D). 3.) “I don’t understand how they can call me anti-Latino when I’ve made four movies in Mexico.” – former California Gov.

Not even close to a complete list. If one were to compile a really accurate list, all of the top 18, never mind maybe the top 100 or 200, would come from the Obammunist before it even moved on to Reid and Pelosi.

Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was due to report to federal prison on Monday to begin serving a 10-year sentence for corruption during the years when the city was struggling to recover from the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. Nagin, a Democrat, was thrust into the national spotlight in 2005, when Katrina overwhelmed levees and flooded 80 percent of New Orleans, killing 1,500 people and causing some $80 billion in damage. He is due to serve his time at a federal prison in Texarkana, Texas, according to television station WDSU. Nagin, 58, plans to appeal his conviction. He has

As the world lurches from one crisis to another, one thing is reassuringly certain - President Obama will be playing golf and usually with his ´Secretary of Swing´, Marvin Nicholson. The two men have played golf together an astonishing 140 times over the past six years, drawing envious gazes from Washington politicos, who are desperate for any priceless ´face-time´ with the leader of the free world. Indeed, so close are they, that the president was comfortable enough to step away from the Situation Room to play cards with Nicholson during the now legendary Navy SEAL´s raid that killed Osama bin Laden in

An unusual and in depth study into the historical, documented and witnessed accuracy of the Bible finds that the story of Jesus of Nazareth is 99.5 percent true, more than any other ancient manuscript. In Jesus on Trial, debuting Monday, lawyer and author David Limbaugh, writes, “There is an enormous amount of evidence that the Bible is historically reliable and that it was written by real men who were united in their commitment to truth.” Limbaugh, a popular political author and brother of top-rated radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh, said he conducted a legal investigation into the sources of the Bible

Head Start, the federal preschool program for low-income kids, is a politician’s favorite. They regard the sum of the money poured into Head Start as the measurement of the depth of their concern “for the children.” No wonder it’s costing $8 billion a year. There’s no limit to the concern the right-minded have “for the children.” For all that money, we’re not getting much. This is the conclusion in a working paper by the National Bureau of Economic Research. The bureau is unable to find lasting benefits for the 900,000 children enrolled in the program. When children who attend Head Start begin

There are still two months until Election Day in November—but, today, ballots are already on their way to voters in North Carolina. For voters in many key battleground states, Election Day can come far sooner than the first Tuesday in November, a fact that scrambles the calculus for candidates and has both parties investing heavily in turnout operations. More than a third of the 2014 electorate is expected to cast ballots early this year, and they´re starting to do it very soon. Democrats have enjoyed a ground-game advantage in past elections, and have put $60 million behind their field efforts in 10

Black caliphate flags flap in the open air. Islamic head-choppers wreak bloody havoc around the world. Nearly a dozen commercial airliners disappear in Libya. And America’s immigration and entrance systems remain in shambles. Now is a good time to ask a question I first posed ten summers ago: Where is Adnan Shukrijumah? A decade later, the question is still unanswered. The FBI has yet to track down this homicidal plotter. Have you forgotten? Saudi-born Shukrijumah, billed as the “next Mohammed Atta,” has been a fugitive since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. His father, Gulshair, was a Wahhabi cleric funded by the Saudi government.

She presented herself as the long-suffering wife of actor-turned-politician-turned-actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, 67. California’s Austrian-born then-governor admitted publicly in 2011 that he fathered a love child, now 16, with the family’s housekeeper, Mildred Baena, now 53 — a boy who was born just five days after Shriver gave birth to his half-brother. Even the Daily Beast can’t keep up the pretense that a government shutdown is in the offing: If you listen to congressional Democrats, they will tell you that we are just days away from a Republican-led government shutdown. Republicans, they would have you believe, would take such a drastic action in retaliation over President Obama’s expected amnesty that would allow millions of undocumented aliens to stay in the United States without fear of deportation. To show their disapproval, the thinking goes, the Republicans would shut the government down in an act of petulance to retaliate against Obama and show their

Immigrant-rights groups reacted furiously Saturday after the White House made clear President Obama will not take unilateral action on immigration before November’s elections, nodding at the political realities of the issue as he punted on the key policy questions. With a number of key Senate races in GOP-leaning states, Democrats had feared that action now would anger voters and cost them control of the upper chamber, and had privately begged the White House to hold off on any move to halt deportations. But immigration activists said it’s the latest in a series of moves by Mr. Obama to shove their
