Sarah Palin begins her own online channel
USA Today, by Catalina Camia

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 7/28/2014 12:58:45 AM

Sarah Palin has gone rogue again, this time launching her own Internet channel. “Tired of media filters? Well, so am I,” the former Alaska governor proclaimed Sunday on her Facebook page. “So let’s go rogue and launch our own member-supported channel. “ In a video on sarahpalinchannel.com, Palin calls the new subscription-based network a “community” where she and viewers can share ideas. “I want to talk to directly to you on our channel on my terms and no need to please the powers that be,” she says, promising to go beyond soundbites and to “cut through the media’s politically correct filter.”

Comments:
It´s subscription, so we will see in time how many follow her new venture. Good luck, Sarah.

You Rock Sarah! A Glen Beck-type network presentation? And we have now the Big O following along these lines. Oh Dear Lord!!! Does this give any fear that Hussein Obomba and his mate will be next? 24 hour a day coverage of the life and times and lies of an idol and his message...´Transform America". Vaca photos and videos: visiting his home town, swanky fundraisers and other assorted Socialist propaganda.

I think we´re going to sigh up too, need to discuss with hubby after he gets up. I am very close to getting rid of "Dish", there is almost nothing on TV that I can tolerate watching. Fox News isn´t even very informative, with websites like this one, there is virtually nothing they can tell me that I don´t already know. The country is crumbling around us, but you´d have no clue if you relied on television.

Sarah is not doing this on her own. There are some powerful media figures behind her. Sarah is prescient. Cable TV will be challenged by web based content in the future. I hope her channel as well as The Blaze (maybe even Breitbart) catch on. Maybe we´ll finally get some Conservative content as Fox veers into the mainstream.

Detroit - With a thumb swipe on a smartphone, your car one day will be able to drive into a parking deck, find an open spot and back into a space — all by itself. Technology being honed by French auto parts maker Valeo uses a dozen ultrasonic sound-wave sensors, 360-degree cameras and a laser scanner to safely park within a few centimeters of other vehicles. Then, when you’re done with dinner or a business meeting, the car will return to you after another swipe of the thumb. The potential benefits are plenty. More orderly parking means less congestion. Drivers are spared the time and frustration of the hunt for a spot.

Rice was serious, but she wanted it to be known that she wouldn’t want to do it “before Paul Tagliabue is ready to step down.” Well, Tagliabue is long gone and his successor Roger Goodell has made a mess of it. Time for the former secretary of state with an intense love of the game to step in and save the NFL. We’d all seen the chilling video back in February of Baltimore

In a fascinating interview with Charlie Rose, David Brooks–who is now teaching moral philosophy at Yale–spoke, among many other topics, about Viktor Frankl, the Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor. Dr. Frankl, in his book Man’s Search for Meaning, deals with the fact that he was living a life he didn’t plan for. Living in a concentration camp obviously isn’t what he hoped for. The crucial question became not what Frankl wanted out of life; it was what he would do with the hand he had been dealt. Dr. Frankl decided, “Suffering became a problem upon which I did not want to turn my back.”

Arguments for a universal basic income (UBI) — in which everyone without exception would receive an equal stipend — have flourished in policy-centric areas of the internet, including The Week. Advocates of UBI see it as a blunter, more effective means of reducing poverty and shrinking the inequality gap.
