A second American citizen has now become infected with the deadly Ebola virus as the worst outbreak ever of the terrifying and grisly disease rages through four West African nations. Nancy Writebol, an American working for a charity organization in Liberia has tested positive for the virus officials announced Sunday. While her condition was not released. Writebol is undoubtedly fighting for her life against the virus, which kills 90 percent of those infected. So too is American doctor Kent Brantly, the 33-year-old medical director for charity group Samaritan´s Purse whose been working in Liberia since October. Writebol had been working with Ebola victims

The Nigerian guy on the airplane could have spread it far and wide. Since it can take weeks to show symptoms, many people could have Ebola and not realize what it is.

Hasn´t this outbreak been "out of control" from the git-go??

Historically, ebola starts in the jungle and hits a small village, seldom moving to a city before it "dies out" by killing all the victims.

This time, ebola started in three separate cities simultaneously, almost as if it were an intentional bio-weapon attack.

The one known guy from Nigeria, and how ever many unknown but exposed others getting on airplanes could turn this into a worldwide problem.

But then, I read this in a thriller plot a few months ago only the "aid doctor" was a Muslim, and he flew the dying patient to a secret lab where they infected dozens of monkeys to create the serum to make germ-bombs to attack the US.

We need to shut down all air traffic to these countries, until a cure is found.

If not, it could reduce the worlds population by, say, 90%.

My prayers are with the aid workers who risked everything to aid others in accordance with their faith.

I am concerned that people who have been exposed are allowed to travel freely. Dr Brantley´s family flew home to the US about a week ago before he started showing signs of the disease. This current strain seems to have a long incubation time before suddenly inducing symptoms. The assumption is that the disease is not communicable until the symptoms appear. A 21 day quarantine seems harsh but when limited to only 2,000 exposed people is a LOT more palatable than a global epidemic.

With so many traveling illegally crossing many borders around the world, I don´t think they can contain it. Nobody knows how many left while incubating Ebola.

Keep in mind Zippy is meeting with Africans in the wh next week. How many more millions will he throw at them ?

The Chinese seem to know how to quarantine.

More scaremongering by Nigeria and the UN to break off huge chunks of cash from the developed nations. So far, in the midst of millions of people who live in some of the most unsanitary conditions on earth, only 1,202 cases have been confirmed of which 673 (53%) have died. Don´t forget, many died because the ignorant locals tried to stone the rescue medical workers who they feared were witches, thus preventing proper medical assistance, which actually has a pretty good chance of saving an infected patient if they can get to them. The article is very quick to shout out the "...the virus, which kills 90 percent of those infected." Another media lie! The official mortality rate of even the most deadly form of the disease, Ebola Zaire, has a mortality rate of 83% and is actually quite rare.

European bureaucrats have warned Britons off a crunchy, golden brown slice of toast. An EU watchdog says toast should be eaten only when it is a light brown colour or it could increase the risk of cancer. [Snip] It is mainly found in crisps, savoury snacks, chips, soft and crispy breads, biscuits, crackers, cakes, cereals and coffee. But dark roasted potatoes, jacket potatoes and slightly burned toast could also contain it. A draft report states: “Tests show acrylamide in the diet causes cancer in animals. “Scientists conclude that acrylamide in food potentially increases the cancer risk for consumers of all ages.”

Saudi Arabia has launched the construction of a high-security five-layered fence on the border with Iraq to protect the desert kingdom from “infiltrators and smugglers,” according to state media quoted by RT. The fence will cover 900 km (560 miles) of Saudi Arabia’s northern frontier, SPA state news agency reported. Watchtowers, night vision and radars will provide surveillance along the fence. The project was unveiled by King Abdullah late Friday. It was announced the fence’s purpose was to cut the "number of infiltrators, drug, arms and cattle smugglers to zero." Saudi Arabia already deployed some 30,000 troops to its border

Protesters in the neighbourhood of Wadi al-Joz close to the walled Old City threw rocks, petrol bombs and flares at passing cars, and riot officers responded with rubber bullets during an afternoon of clashes that lasted for several hours. There were no reports of serious injury. Mohammed Sinokrot, 16, succumbed to a head wound suffered during a protest a week ago but the circumstances of how he sustained the wound were in dispute.
