Wendy Davis surely will fail
without help from Obama

Star-Telegram [Ft. Worth, TX], by Bob Ray Sanders

State Sen. Wendy Davis is making a huge mistake in her campaign as the Democratic nominee for Texas governor. And if she continues doing it, she just might find her potential voters staying home in droves on Election Day. The campaign apparently has decided that Davis has to distance herself from President Barack Obama — avoid being seen with him, resist talking about the issues he has championed even if she supports them, and certainly not ask the president’s help in getting out the vote in the Lone Star State. The obvious reason for this flawed strategy is that Obama is hugely unpopular in the so-called “red”

Obama could with a stroke of the pen give instant voting rights to 3 million Texas illegal aliens, including children. That would put her over the top. But showing up to campaign with Abortion Barbie in Abilene? Not gonna work.

I agree with Bobby Ray, Davis should tie herself as closely as possible to Obama and his policies. She would win the race in a huge landslide.

#1, actually the states control that to a great extent. Just because you become a citizen doesn´t mean you get to vote the next day - i.e. some states sensibly require registration months before being allowed to vote. So they could say that any illegal aliens given amnesty have to wait 25 years before voting (because their loyalty is questionable as they are here illegally) and tie it up in the courts for a very long time, if they were using their heads.

With or without Obama, Davis will likely fail because she has nothing to offer except a pair of pink sneakers and a fashionably extreme position on abortion.

Davis will fail with or without the One´s help.

Her major failing is imploding too quickly. She should suck up a lot more money that otherwise could go to candidates who have a chance to win.

Yet the really funny part is who is avoiding whom. Obama does not want to be associated with such a loser as much as she does not want his "help" in Texas.

On his last few trips to Austin -- the lie-beral cesspool in the otherwise very conservative state of Texas -- they pretty much had to beg people come to his speeches. He has gone from mass rallies here in 2008 to very small, and half empty, venues in 2014.

If Øvomit doesn´t play here, he is not going to play anywhere in Texas.

Let´s face it, utter incompetence and pure evil will turn off all but your most brain-dead supporters pretty quickly.

So please Wendy, please do make Øvomit the visible sign of your campaign and philosophy. I really want to see Abbot win by 40 points or more over you in November!!

Wendy Davis does have big hair.

I don´t understand the massive ego and narcissism that many if not most politicians have that keeps them seeking power. Couldn´t the make more money more easily in some other job? I think it´s the lust for power for their narcissistic personalities. Underneath they´re shallow and weak people. Sociopaths.

The Clinton´s have over $100 million, why don´t they go on permanent vacations and retire and relax? Don´t they have anything else in their lives except lust for power?

Newly inaugurated Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai is expected to sign a vital security deal Tuesday to allow American soldiers to remain in the country past the end of the year, officials say. A senior Defense Department official confirmed to Fox News that the new president will sign the Bilateral Security Agreement allowing for 9,800 U.S. troops to remain in Afghanistan after 2014. The president also is expected to sign a NATO Status of Forces Agreement, which will allow a small NATO force to stay on as well. On ‘60 Minutes,’ the president faulted his spies for failing to predict the rise of ISIS. There’s one problem with that statement: The intelligence analysts did warn about the group. Nearly eight months ago, some of President Obama’s senior intelligence officials were already warning that ISIS was on the move. In the beginning of 2014, ISIS fighters had defeated Iraqi forces in Fallujah, leading much of the U.S. intelligence community to assess they would try to take more of Iraq. But in an interview that aired Sunday evening, the president told 60 Minutes that the rise of the group now proclaiming itself

To understand why revitalizing Detroit will be difficult, consider the response to the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department’s (DWSD) recent plan to make overdue customers pay their bills. The DWSD serves more than 4 million customers across the Detroit region. The suburbs mostly buy water from the DWSD wholesale, so it’s mainly city residents and businesses who get billed directly, and over half of them—about 90,000 customers—haven’t paid up. Total past-due bills add up to nearly $90 million, with the average delinquent residential customer owing $540, or more than 7 months’ worth of service, based on an average bill of

For President Obama, the color of a man’s skin is far more important than the content of his character. On the night when a police officer was shot in a Missouri town torn by racial strife, the president donned a shiny tuxedo to attend a ritzy black awards dinner, where he said police nationwide are to blame for community mistrust, even claiming that “most Americans” think the country is racist. Remember, when Ferguson exploded in racial rage in August, Mr. Obama chose not to curtail his 15-day vacation, spending day after day on the golf course in the white-skinned, white-wined, millionaire playground

Media programmers, especially at ad-poor online streaming outlets, run the spots continuously. Washington -- As Democratic Sen. But this is Louisiana, and the election system can be complicated. There are nine candidates -- Republicans, Democrats, and a Libertarian -- on the ballot this November, and if no candidate crosses the 50% threshold, the race moves into a December runoff between the top two contenders. Landrieu currently falls well below the 50% mark at 43% support among likely voters. Republican Rep. Bill

Political pollsters have a tough job. They have to create formulas to determine if the person they are interviewing is likely to vote, and it is within this calculation that their reputations are made. Typically, those who are likely to vote in an off-year election are pretty set. They are the people who always vote in elections — with some motivated by specific issues. In a wave election, the number of those motivated by specific issues escalates, changing the electoral landscape as the candidates who are beneficiaries of this increased participation sweep to victory. The 2014 election is rapidly looking like something new
