Surprise! New health plans´

USA Today, by Julie Appleby

Nancy Pippenger and Marcia Perez live thousands of miles apart but have the same complaint: Doctors who treated them last year won´t take their insurance now, even though they haven´t changed insurers. "They said, ´We take the old plan, but not the new one,´ " says Perez, an attorney in Palo Alto, Calif. In Plymouth, Ind., Pippenger got similar news from her longtime orthopedic surgeon, so she shelled out $300 from her own pocket to see him. Both women unwittingly enrolled in policies with limited networks of doctors and hospitals that provide little or no payment for care outside those

If we made dopey democrats pay a dollar for every time actual informed Americans said "I told ya so" since January 2009, we could really have "free health care".

Our health plan was changed to accommodate the Obamacare mandates. Now, my co-pays are $100 per visit, and if I get 10 minutes of the doctor´s time I´m lucky. I just paid $100 for my son to talk to an RN for 10 minutes, after waiting over an hour after our appointment time.

I go to the same HMO as before but now it´s more difficult to get an appointment, the co-pay went from $20 to $100, and now we each have a $2,000 deductible. The waiting rooms are packed with people, many of whom are new Obamacare patients. I have a friend who works reception at our HMO and she said almost every person´s co-pay has doubled or more. She´s had some patients in tears because they can´t afford to take their children to the doctor anymore because they can´t afford the co-pay.

This administration should be ashamed of what they´ve done. They´ve made medical care less available and more expensive, and are hurting a lot of the people they claimed they were going to help.

No one should sign up for ANY Health Insurance Plan unless they know what is in it, including the providers available. I have had the same plan for over 25 years but when the new brochure comes, I read every word. Otherwise, how do I know what the benefits and costs are ? Unfortunately, many people either do not take the time or cannot understand the literature. Whether it is an Obamacare plan or another type, you MUST understand what you are getting or you will end up behind the 8-ball. Health Care Insurance is one of the most important items in everyone´s life and they must treat it that way. Of course, Obamacare is horrible Health Care Insurance for most folks, in my opinion.

Ever get the sense that the middle class is downwardly mobile, being pressed to the floor and squeezed to the limit? It’s not happening by accident. Someone is doing the squeezing: a new class of entertainment and tech plutocrats, cheered on and abetted by a priesthood of media, government and academic elites.(snip) This New Class, for instance, venerates the city and despises suburbia. They think you should feel the same way — and in innumerable magazine and newspaper pieces, they twist facts to make it sound as if America loves living in apartments and taking trains to work.

Ginsburg, at 81, is the oldest member of the Court. Some on the left have suggested that she might retire while Obama is in office, to guarantee that a Democratic president could appoint her successor. Ginsburg has said before that she is "likely to remain for a while," but offered insight on her reasoning in an interview with Elle magazine. "[A]nybody who thinks that if I step

Hundreds of environmentalists plan to "shut down" the New York Stock Exchange later Tuesday to protest the relationship between global warming and Big Business. Scores of protesters had already gathered in lower Manhattan early Tuesday for an event dubbed #FloodWallStreet. They planned to march a few blocks north to Wall Street and stage a "sit-in" until forced to leave. Their beef: the fossil fuels industry and other companies are profiting at the expense of the environment. The activists said they were willing to be arrested to drive home the link between global capitalism and worsening climate change.

President Barack Obama, stumping for the Democrats ahead of November´s congressional elections, has twice invoked Ronald Reagan´s seminal campaign question: "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" Framing the debate like that helped Reagan twice - in 1980 when he beat incumbent Jimmy Carter, and then again in 1984 when he won re-election during an economic upswing. But a similar message has failed to resonate for Obama primarily for one reason: while he stresses the economy has improved in almost every aspect on his watch, average family incomes have slipped.
