House GOP ready to move border bill
Washington Times, by S.A. Miller

Original Article

House Republican leaders decided to move forward with a vote next week on measure to address the border crisis, including a measure strongly opposed by Democrats that would repeal a 2008 law that delays immigration hearings for children from Central America. Rep. Kay Granger, the Texas Republican who headed a GOP task force that presented a set of proposals that laid the groundwork of the upcoming bill, said it will be introduced as soon as Monday. The inclusion of the controversial change to the 2008 law, which is opposed by President Obama and his Democratic allies in Congress, gives the bill virtually

Comments:
How many times have we been told that any bill to deal with illegal immigration is dead for now? All Boehner & the House majority GOP has to do is vote NO on any funding for the latest 0bama gambit at extorting endless billions to get more dRATS voters, criminals, and terrorists across our borders. Yes, the 2008 bill needs to be fixed, but as long as there isn´t enough support in the senate to contain a veto by 0bama, stay clear as they will try to tack on amendments for amnesty.

#1 is correct. Beware of anything initiated in the House and passed to the Senate.

In 2009 the House passed H.R. 3590. It was sent to the Senate and was gutted with only the bill number remaining. The Senate then packed it full of Obamacare, and passed that. Obama signed it, and is now thanks to John Roberts, the law of the land.

There needs to be a bill that deports anyone in this country illegally immediately. No amnesty and if you are caught illegally in this country, you will NEVER become a citizen! That would staunch the flow of illegals.

# 5 I would consider your wager if the obama recovery had not exhausted my savings, and a hard bet to monitor as the bill from conference will not be the exact bill passed by the senate but will include CoC payoffs.

This Republican bill is not going to reverse the borderline situation because under the regular immigration laws every illegal alien who is found inside the USA is entitled to request a hearing before an immigration judge, and if the immigration judge finds at the hearing that the alien is deportable and orders the alien deported, the alien then has the right to appeal that decision to the Board of Immigration Appeals, then to the US Circuit Courts, and then even to the US Supreme Court. All that could take a decade for just one illegal alien to work through. Now think of many hundreds of thousands or even millions of illegal aliens exercising those rights before they can legally be deported.

That is the legal situation today with the very liberal immigration court proceedings that are handled by leftist lawyers most of who are hired out of the liberal Democrat allied ethnic and immigrant rights groups and immigration law firms that are about the last people in this country who want to deport illegal aliens

Just about all illegal aliens are being advised by their home country governments, the smugglers, the Obama Administration, immigrant rights groups and immigration lawyers some hired by the government, to request deportation hearings knowing that there is no way that the government can detain and run each apprehended illegal alien through the immigration court system. As a result huge numbers of illegal aliens are being released into the country to await hearings that may not be scheduled for years if at all. Under these conditions the very liberal immigration court system is incompetent and unrealistic as far as being any sort of protection for the American people and nation to stop the invasion of illegal aliens that is now ongoing.

On the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, President Obama used the occasion last week to remind Americans that “our combat mission in Afghanistan will come to an end” in three months. But the cost to U.S. taxpayers for reconstruction in Afghanistan will continue. The U.S. has spent $104 billion to rebuild Afghanistan’s security forces, infrastructure, economy, and health care and education sectors. America is spending more on the effort this year alone than it’s spending on foreign assistance for Israel, Iraq, Egypt and Pakistan combined, said John Sopko, special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction.

It saddens me that 20 years after my sister Nicole’s murder, we are still seeing the same crimes, just different names, over and over again. The Ray Rice case reflects our misunderstanding of what domestic violence is, and the Oscar Pistorius case reminds me so much of what happened to Nicole: victims defending their partners, and batterers blaming the victim. What is most chilling to me about what I have seen in the coverage of Ray Rice is that he has not atoned for his actions; he seems more concerned with how he is now viewed. And it’s Janay Palmer who is apologizing for her part of being knocked out cold.

The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced. Maybe Democratic leaders in Congress and a few members of the Obama team have had it. Could it be that, after President Obama briefed Democrats in Congress on the immigration plan, they balked?
