Progressive Jews, Wake Up
National Review Online, by Abraham H. Miller

Original Article

In the largely Orthodox Jewish neighborhood of Chicago’s Petersen Park, residents last Saturday morning found anti-Semitic leaflets on their way to synagogue to observe the Sabbath. The leaflets threatened violence against the community unless Israel stopped the war with Gaza. For those progressive Jews who have found solace in the myth that anti-Zionism has nothing to do with anti-Semitism, the events across the globe of the last few weeks have been a rude and discomforting awakening. And so they turned to their final recourse, the belief that America was different. Sure, there was a pogrom at a synagogue in Paris, but, well,

I have never understood why the Jews here in America habitually vote for Leftists. I have read some halfhearted explanations, but even the writers don´t seem to understand it.

Soros is a Jewish person. Also, IF you bother to read WW2 History, you´ll find several persons who betrayed the Jews were Jews! I don´t hate anyone...However, I hate the choices of evil doings that people do and support that brings nothing but chaos and destruction. But the bottom line is this. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US.....Including the Jewish people....will have to face God one day and it looks like it´s sooner now rather than later. Do we have blood on our hands when we stand before God because we ignored his warnings AND HIS WORDS?

The hand wringing of the author, Mr. Miller will not impress me, until he can explain why he, himself remains a progressive Jew.

Could it be, he doesn´t want to lose his progressive circle of ´friends´, and be left with only the knuckle dragging conservatives to mingle with?

I agree with the author except on one point.

I will have renewed faith in our community-defense groups when they confront the double standards on campus that protect every group but Jews-

PROTECT EVERY GROUP BUT JEWS. how about Conservative Christians who are also the number one target of Progressives of all types especially Progressive Jews.

NAZISM is on the march again and unfortunately American Christians leaders have been cowed into silence. Christians have been to ONLY ones standing up for Israel while being vilified by the Academia, NY Media and Hollywood.

There is NOTHING in Left/Progressive ideology, programs, actions and track record that justifies a vote from a Jewish person. Yet the fears of Christian pogroms from Europe suffered by their forefathers cast long and deep shadows.

Jews are to Israel as Catholics are to Rome as Lutherans are to Germany and as Episcopalians are to London.

Don´t confuse religion with geography.

The modern Jews have always been leftists because of their history of abuse. Leftists have always paid tons and tons of lip service to "equal rights", "tolerance", "acceptance" and "community". Jews are democrats for many of the same reasons that blacks are. Deep down, neither group actually agrees with the democrat agenda, but buy the bumper sticker slogans hook line and sinker.

Frankly......the republicans do a HORRIBLE job of making their case. Republicans talk to people as if they have a clue, whereas the democrats understand that the majority of the voting electorate are dumber than a box of rocks and proceed accordingly.

Americans estimate that Washington wastes 51 cents of every dollar it spends, according to a Gallup poll released last week. The timing could not have been more appropriate. The poll was released just days before Congress and the president agreed on a stopgap spending measure to fund federal government programs and agencies indiscriminately at the annualized rate of $1.1 trillion. This year’s figure is tied for the highest since Gallup began asking the question in 1979. The 2011 survey, conducted after the $800 billion stimulus bill was enacted, also registered 51 percent. Except for a low point of 38 percent during

If you believe the media, today’s People’s Climate March was a gathering of grandmothers, adorable kiddies and smiling college students in polar bear costumes to urge us all to live in miserable poverty in order to save the planet from a threat that doesn’t exist. Except for the Green Energy tycoons behind this thing who will get very, very rich. (Just ask Al Gore, who was there.) But when most people hear the word “People” and “March” in one sentence, they think commies. And indeed there were plenty of Commies there. Of late, Hollywood has given us all kinds of movies about the military. The worst of them—such as “Green Zone,” a dreadful 2010 film that rightfully bombed at the box office—demonize and diminish our men and women in uniform to feed Tinseltown’s impulse to please the Code Pink crowd. (Snip) It’s all too rare we see movies that humanize those who fight for us, that deliver a truly honest portrayal of the difficulties of balancing service and sacrifice. There is a movie that’s getting a limited theatrical release that does just that. “Fort Bliss” is the fictional account of an Army

THE narrow victory of the left-leaning Social Democratic Party in Sweden’s elections last Sunday marked a broad shift in its politics. But a new coalition government is unlikely to reconsider one of the country’s most challenging policies: its response to the Syrian civil war. Sweden has taken an open-door approach to people fleeing the conflict, accepting more Syrians than any other European country. Never mind that Sweden has double-digit youth unemployment. That there have been riots in immigrant neighborhoods in Stockholm. That there is a severe housing shortage for new arrivals. Or that the Swedish Migration Board, which handles asylum seekers,

While Scotland’s voters weighed whether to separate from the United Kingdom Thursday, another decision involved its most famous institution separating from 260 years of tradition. The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews voted overwhelmingly to admit women, echoing a similar decision at the far younger Augusta National Golf Club in 2012. In both cases, a private organization made a decision it was entitled to make. But the environment surrounding both decisions, and the reactions thereafter, paint a disturbing portrait of a thickening cultural fog. Let us begin with a premise that will drop jaws on both sides of the Atlantic:
