For The Left, ´Children´ Are

Immigration: The White House and open-borders lobby have stepped up pressure for amnesty by painting the migrant tsunami as a flood of toddlers. But a Pew study, citing Border Patrol data, shows that more than half the entrants are teenage males. Nobody pours it on about "the children" as an argument for negating border laws like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who wears her Catholicism on her sleeve. "I reference the (U.S. Catholic) conference of bishops´ statement in which they say baby Jesus was a refugee from violence," Pelosi told MSNBC Wednesday. All the foreigners crossing the borderline unlawfully are illegal aliens, no matter their age, and the current immigration laws, if properly enforced would deal with this mass illegal migration. The problem is that for partisan political purposes, the Obama crew is refusing to effectively enforce the law, and is bending over backwards to rationalize the ways that they are using, and plan to use to disparage and undermine the immigration laws to allow large numbers of illegal aliens to gain entry to the USA.

All the illegals in Arizona, California, and New Mexico should be flown on Nancy Pelosi´s jet to Los Angeles. There they can catch a cruise ship leased for a no frills cruise to Puerto Vallarta. They can easily process 2,000 a week this way. By the way, there need be no special decontamination procedures used on the plane, she doesn´t seem to be concerned about the possibility of diseases. All those in Texas can be bussed to Galveston for a cruise to Cozumel. Once these illegals are in Mexico they can do the jobs the Mexican refuse to do.

Gov. Jerry Brown has handed California cities some sought-after tools for controlling a massage industry boom. Cities and police officers have complained about a proliferation of massage parlors in recent years, saying the culprit was a 2008 law giving the nonprofit California Massage Therapy Council overriding authority for overseeing massage parlors. The issue was a priority for the League of California Cities. Brown announced on Thursday that he had signed Assembly Bill 1147, which restores some power to local jurisdictions – notably granting them land-use powers making it easier to shut down or restrict the number of massage establishments.

Politics: Amid applause, President Obama has made fighting Ebola in Africa a military priority, to protect U.S. health. So why is he doing nothing about the raft of new diseases that may be rolling in from our unguarded border? ´We can´t dawdle on this one," the president intoned this week, announcing that he would be putting 3,000 boots on the ground in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, in a $600 million rescue effort for three nations badly hit by the dreaded Ebola epidemic. The Venezuelan government certainly has an original way to muddy the waters. In the wake of recent statements by leaders of the College of Physicians of Aragua state, who reported the deaths of eight people caused by a “strange” disease, the governor of that state (Tareck El Aissami) replied – with his usual fascist-style tone – with an accusation against one of the complainants for belonging to the Acción Democrática opposition party, which is not a pathology but a constitutional right, and then threatened all those daring to spread the word on the outbreak with sending them to trial and

The informal rate of the US dollar hit a new historic peek on Wednesday in Argentina, breaking the 15 pesos barrier and closing at 15.10 pesos, pushed by rate speculation, and following yesterday’s sharp 25-cents climb. Economy minister Axel Kicillof blamed the ´holdouts´ and the US embassy for the latest surge. The stock exchange rate, that was the main reason for the “blue” dollar skyrocketing on Tuesday, fell back today to 13.63 pesos. Meanwhile, the blue-chip swap rate was up seven cents and closed at 13.49 pesos. Meanwhile, the US dollar climbed one cent to 8.43 pesos in Buenos Aires City

The hundreds of children who recently arrived in New York City from Central America have encountered a justice system that appears more forgiving than many faced by their counterparts elsewhere. Many young immigrants remain unaware of the available support or are afraid to seek it out. In response, the city announced on Tuesday that it would help bring

One quarter of the nation´s 11 million illegals are believed to now reside in the Golden State, with that lawlessness spreading in multiple areas. This month, the feds rounded up nearly $100 million in Mexican illegal cartel cash from 70 Los Angeles garment district collaborators, calling it "the epicenter" of money laundering in the Western Hemisphere. That´s some foreign investment you´ve attracted, governor. More to the point, when California´s voters passed Proposition 187 in 1994, illegal immigrants numbered just 1.3 million in California, with 308,000 of them children, costing taxpayers $3 billion, according to the Federation for American Immigration Reform. Brazilian and German scientists hope to use the data to better understand sources of greenhouse gases and answer questions on climate change.
