Amazing little kid! I have fond memories of the days I could contort my body enough in order to bend over and tie my shoes.

An Oregon ice cream shop named "What´s the Scoop?" decided to help Planned Parenthood raise money with an exclusive "Rose City Revolution" flavor: a blend of Oregon-grown organic rose petals, local honey, and Madagascar, Tahitian, Mexican and Indonesian vanillas. Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon announced that the ice cream shop would be creating the special flavor, and donating 10% of sales, on its Facebook page. After a Lifenews blog took note of Planned Parenthood´s advertisement, What´s the Scoop? began to receive an unexpected backlash. Store owner Jodie Ostrovsky told Eater blog that, "We´re still wrapping our minds around the reactions.

ABC, CBS, and NBC´s morning and evening newscasts have yet to cover the dire situation of Christians in Iraq, particularly after ISIS´s takeover of the key city of Mosul. The Islamic extremist group drove most of the Christians out of the city, and issued an ultimatum to those who remained: covert to Islam, pay a hefty tax, or face death. Refreshingly, the New York Times spotlighted the crisis in a Thursday op-ed, and noted that the Christian community in Mosul has lived there for nearly 2,000 years. The patriarch of the Syriac Catholic Church, Ignatius Yousef Younan III, along with

The prisoners will be transferred to the Shin Bet for questioning regarding the movements and operations of Hamas

The plight of Iraq’s Christians, targeted by Muslim militants, prompted a U.S. senator to write to the Secretary of State, voicing alarm about “their potential extinction from their ancient homeland” and saying the situation demands “an urgent response from our government.” The letter was addressed to Condoleezza Rice, the date was Sept. 11, 2007, and the writer was Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), then running for the Democratic presidential nomination. While Iraq’s Christian minority had come under attack and faced grave hardships since the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 – a spate of church bombings in Aug. 2004 killed at

Gazans hear Khaled Mashaal speak of his luxury hotel that cost more than "a hospital and three tunnels," as Hamas news channel hacked. Tens of thousands of Gaza residents on Thursday saw Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal on their screens, but with a surprising message. The visuals were of Mashaal, but it was Israel who was speaking through his mouth. This happened during the broadcasts of Al Aqsa TV and Al Quds TV - two of the biggest television broadcasters in Gaza. In a video obtained by The Jerusalem Post, a speech by Mashaal is distorted to bring Gazans a message

Prospect of GOP Senate Ignites

Senator Schumer’s plan for open primaries, issued in the New York Times this week, reminds me of how I became a Republican. I’d been born and raised a Democrat and remained one until 2001, when I discovered that the candidate I wanted to vote for in the mayoral primary, Herman Badillo, was on the Republican ballot. I switched my party registration, and I’ve never looked back (at least not with regret). Mr. Schumer doesn’t want to go that route. Now that the Republicans may well win control of the Senate, he wants to change the primary system so that the

Jonathan Martin reports for the New York Times that John Walsh, who is now running to keep the Montana Senate seat to which he was recently appointed, plagiarized a master´s thesis in 2007: [O]ne of the highest-profile credentials of Mr. Walsh’s 33-year military career appears to have been improperly attained. An examination of the final paper required for Mr. Walsh’s master’s degree from the United States Army War College indicates the senator appropriated at least a quarter of his thesis on American Middle East policy from other authors’ works, with no attribution. Mr. Walsh completed the paper, what the War College calls a “strategy research

Texas Governor Rick Perry went on Hannity tonight to discuss the illegal immigrant crisis at the US southern border. Perry shared these shocking numbers on the current crisis. “Sean, there have been over the course of the last five years, since the fall of ’08, over 203,000 individuals who have come into Texas illegally who have been booked into our county jails. Those individuals have accounted for over 3,000 homicides and over 8,000 sexual assaults. We can’t afford to wait for Washington to secure this border. We’ve had enough.”

President Obama told Democratic donors Wednesday night that most Americans don’t have time to think about the details of the Benghazi terrorist attack or the problems with Obamacare. Speaking at a fundraiser at the Los Angeles home of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes, the president took his usual shots at the Republican Party, suggesting its members are focused on the wrong issues and frequently “obfuscate and they bamboozle and sometimes don’t say what’s true.” And because people are not familiar with the intricacies of many public-policy issues, Republicans can get away with such obfuscation, he said. “The Republican

I received a call from my sons’ school in March telling me that my oldest needed to be picked up early. He had been given a one-day suspension because he had thrown a chair. He did not hit anyone, but he could have, the school officials told me. JJ was 4 at the time. I agreed his behavior was inappropriate, but I was shocked that it resulted in a suspension. For weeks, it seemed as if JJ was on the chopping block. He was suspended two more times, once for throwing another chair and then for spitting on a student

In scandal after scandal in the Obama administration, President Obama has said he didn’t know about the problems until he heard it on the news. But the president changed his tune about his supposed ignorance at a Democratic fundraiser near Seattle on Tuesday night. Mr. Obama told supporters that he doesn’t watch the news because, “Whatever they’re reporting about, usually I know.” That contrasts with the explanations that the president and his aides have given from scandals in the past few years ranging from long wait times and deaths at the VA, to the IRS targeting tea party groups, to the

A year after news of the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke, former First Lady Hillary Clinton allegedly told a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist that it was former President Bill Clinton’s abusive mother that caused his unfaithfulness and sex addiction, a new book claims. That journalist was Lucinda Franks and while her latest book, “Timeless: Love, Morgenthau, and Me,” doesn’t have much to do about the Clintons, the part that does offers never before reported information from a 1999 interview with the former First Lady. The New York Daily News obtained parts of the book a month before its scheduled August 2014 release.

While our current secretary of state John Kerry is under fire for sarcastically joking about Israel’s “pinpoint operation” in Gaza, one former secretary of state echoed those sentiments during an appearance on CNN Tuesday afternoon. Speaking to Wolf Blitzer, Madeleine Albright said she thinks Israel is “overdoing” it with its offensive into the Gaza Strip and losing some of its “moral authority” in the process. “I do think the point has to be made, if rockets are being shot at Israel, that Israel does have a right to defend itself,” Albright said. “But the bottom line is the question of proportionality.” Blitzer singled out her use of the word

Colchester – Experts estimate there are nearly 300 adult loons living on Vermont´s lakes and ponds, up from just a couple dozen 30 years ago. On Saturday, more than 200 volunteers spread out across Vermont for the annual loon survey. The results of the survey are trickling in, but Eric Hanson of the Vermont Center for Ecostudies and the coordinator of the Vermont Loon Conservation Project, said there are many more birds now than just a few years ago. He said 15 years ago there were around 100 loons. In 1983, biologists counted only 29. "It is a decent, stable population. I'm hoping that actually things do start to level out.

If you’re headed to Capitol Hill with a cause, it helps to be a Kennedy. For Robert Kennedy Jr., scion of America’s most storied political family, all it takes is his name to arrange face-to-face meetings with two powerful Senators.
