President Obama hits ´corporate

Tearing into companies he dubbed “corporate deserters,” President Obama on Thursday launched an election-year push to make it harder for U.S. companies to avoid paying taxes. Under a bright sun at a trade and technical college in Los Angeles, Obama issued a damning assessment of a “small but growing” group of companies taking advantage of a “loophole” in corporate tax law by reorganizing overseas, often in low-tax countries. What a strange man our President is.

No mention of his ´friend´ who owns Facebook, or his pal Jeffrey at GE.

Obama´s use of ´smoke and mirrors´ is endless.

Here´s a clue. LOWER corporate taxes. By the way. Every dime of a corporation´s cash flow, profits, taxes comes from the customer as part of the price. Foreign companies don´t pay our high rate, so they can lower their prices and beat homegrown prices. Simple. Corporations may write the check for taxes, but the money is collected from the customer; hence the phrase that corporations don´t pay taxes, they collect them from their customers. Lower taxes -> lower prices and not offshore movement.

When he used the term "corporate deserters," I thought he was talking about people who spend their lives working at non-profits and in government.

So what´s new? This has been going on since the first shoe companies moved their factories back in the 60´s. I didn´t figure there was many more to move, figuring they were mostly already gone. Just a reminder - GE also closed their light bulb factories here and who ever bought them moved them to China.

Now I KNOW those companies who are moving offshore are doing EXACTLY the right thing. As long as the USA is on this socialist slide, you would have to be a fool not to get your business out of the USA as much as possible (even if it means simply not repatriating offshore income).

Compare to Venezuela and Cuba and every other Marxist country. Those that escaped did the right thing -- those that stayed did not. The more Obama talks about it, the more important it is for American businesses to reduce their exposure to our Marxist government.

Naomi Klein is by all accounts a wonderful person – warm, low-key, modest, committed and enormously hard-working. She also looks terrific in a crisp white shirt, which is what she wore for a recent photo shoot for Vogue. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Vogue is interested in fashionable intellectuals, and right now there’s no intellectual more fashionable than Ms. Klein. She told Vogue that her new book, This Changes Everything, is “a book about climate change for people who don’t read books about climate change.” Ms. Klein and her new book are being written up everywhere. So who is Klein, and why is she such a hot ticket? Not since the 1980s, when Daniel Ortega, Nicaragua´s Marxist dictator, bought $3,000 sunglasses on Fifth Avenue during a U.N. But the leaders of the Climate Change March and the "Flood Wall Street" Occupy reunion put left-wing hypocrisy on full display this week in their loathing for capitalism and all-too-eager enjoyment of its

The court heard that for the first charge, Prabakaran had hit an empty police car repeatedly with a stick, and helped flip the vehicle onto its side. He also threw pieces of paper into the car after it had been set on fire to feed the flames,

Whilst gay and bisexual men represent less than 4 percent of London´s population they are responsible for 84 percent of syphilis cases and 65 percent of gonorrhoea cases in the capital. Labour has been sent into a panic after rumours circulated they might be beaten in the House of Commons by-election for the seat of Heywood and Middleton on 9th October. The poll was triggered when veteran Labour MP Jim Dobbin died earlier this month. For years the seat was considered to be ´safe´ by Labour, and had a majority of nearly six thousand in 2010. However, the party are worried the UKIP surge may still rob them of the seat, which has led to the Labour whips desperately sending MPs to the area. In New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly, TV crews accidentally picked up remarks Cameron made to Michael Bloomberg, the former mayor of the city, which are likely to embarrass Queen Elizabeth and the British leader. “She purred down the line.
