Obama administration: Russia firing
artillery at Ukraine military targets

Fox News, by Justin Fishel

Obama administration officials said Thursday that Russia is firing artillery from its own territory into Ukraine to hit Ukrainian military sites, pointing to escalating Russian involvement in the deadly conflict. "This clearly is a military escalation," Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren said, adding there is no question that Russian military -- as opposed to Russia-backed separatists -- are firing the shots. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf first made the accusation during a press briefing earlier Thursday. She also claimed Moscow is boosting its military shipments to pro-Russian separatists. "We have new evidence that the Russians intend to deliver heavier and more powerful multiple

Obama and company need to shut up and stop being so bellicose with Putin unless they are prepared to throw down and start world war iii. I do not have any confidence in Obama as a war president, so I hope he shuts up. We end up looking ridiculous when he makes empty threats.

All out war on an independent country waged by Russia and the rest of the world yawns. Of course this administration will blame Europe and will do nothing because Ukraine is not in NATO. When Russia moves against Poland or a NATO country don´t expect him to do anything but make speeches. The world is a more unsafe place with US leadership. Europe is waiting for leadership from the US but none will come from Obama.

A majority of the Palin family — Sarah, Todd, Bristol, and Track — was allegedly involved in a booze-filled brawl over the weekend in which the former vice presidential candidate reportedly screamed, “Don’t you know who I am?” According to reports from local bloggers, the Palin crew showed up at a party in Wasilla following a day at the Iron Dog snowmobile race. According to local blogger Amanda Coyne, witnesses at the scene said Palin’s eldest son, Track, showed up to the party in a stretch Hummer. He then confronted a man who had previously dated one of his sisters,

The Department of Energy Wednesday granted approval for two facilities in Louisiana and Florida to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to nearly any country. Sempra Energy’s existing Cameron LNG project in southwestern Louisiana will be allowed to export 1.7 billion cubic feet of gas per day once the company installs the necessary equipment. The Carib Energy plant in Martin County, Fla., has been granted a license to export 40 million cubic feet a day. The DOE is legally obligated to review every application to export LNG to countries with which the United States does not have a free-trade agreement, to determine whether the

U.S. Army sociologists are worried that a lack of black officers leading its combat troops will have detrimental effect on minorities and lead to fewer black officers in top leadership posts. “The issue exists. The leadership is aware of it,” Brig. Gen. Ronald Lewis toldUSA Today on Thursday. “The leadership does have an action plan in place. And it’s complicated.” The Army reports that only 10 percent of its active-duty officers are black, which has contributed to its dearth of black officers leading soldiers with occupational specialties in infantry, armor and artillery. “It certainly is a problem for several reasons,” Col. It was a brawl in the family for the Palin clan. Former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin got into a fracas worthy of reality TV when she, husband Todd and their entourage of children allegedly got involved in a drunken brawl at an Anchorage house party, according to multiple reports. The former Alaska governor’s daughter Bristol even allegedly threw punches and son Track ripped his shirt off in anger and flipped the bird in the Saturday melee, according to the reports. The backwoods brawling began after the clan rolled up to the soiree in a stretch Hummer. Sarah and Todd Palin had been invited to

In February 2012, a young, beefy Egyptian named Islam Yaken took a shirtless selfie and posted it on a Facebook competitor called Vk.com. The picture wouldn’t have attracted much attention outside his circle of Cairo friends, were it not for the photos of himself he tweeted two years later. In that time, the Wahlberg wannabe with tidy, cropped hair had transmogrified into a bushy-haired hipster with heavy-rimmed glasses—who had gone to fight for ISIS. The jihadi accessories in his new photos included a Kalashnikov, a sword, and a bucket of Shia heads. When Yaken’s pictures went viral a month ago, they

It was a searing moment in American history that showed us at our very best -- and, sadly, our worst. It was an event that will be remembered for the courageous heroism of some, and the feckless self-centeredness of others. September 11, 2014 marks the second anniversary of the deadly attacks on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Foreign Service information management officer Sean Smith and two of their would-be rescuers, Glen Doherty and Tyrone S. Woods. You couldn´t really call him a "Bond villain" in the grander context of Dr. No, Auric Goldfinger, Hugo Drax or that annoyingly resilient cat-fancier Ernst Stavros Blofeld. Those guys were schemers, planners, twisted visionaries of mass apocalypse whose Big Ideas were to be played out at humanity´s expense. They thought they were so much smarter than the rest of us that it made it easier to invest our collective hope that James Bond would ultimately ruin their parties. But Jaws? Thirteen years after the terror attacks on September 11, 2001 claimed nearly 3,000 American lives, the group responsible for those attacks, al Qaeda, is a shadow of its former self, analysts say - but that doesn´t mean the U.S. can afford to rest easy, given a host of emerging threats ready to take up the jihadist banner. Even as the U.S. has battered al Qaeda´s core, killing 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden in Pakistan in 2011 and keeping the heat on the group with drone strikes and other military operations across the near-East, the United States faces what some would

Bush´s administration from taking military action against Iran unless it was explicitly authorized by Congress. His idea died in committee. Nearly seven years later, U.S. fighter jets and unmanned drones armed with missiles have conducted under Obama´s orders more than 150 airstrikes against the Islamic State group over the past five weeks in Iraq even as the White House has yet to formally ask Congress for authorization for the expanding air campaign. President Barack Obama’s urgent request that Congress authorize the arming and training of Syrian rebels is scrambling delicate plans on Capitol Hill less that two months before the midterm elections. This isn’t the quick and clean September Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) were hoping for. The glide path toward avoiding a government shutdown is suddenly more complicated — at least temporarily. House Republicans delayed the consideration of their government-funding bill, which was expected to get a vote on Thursday, to consider Obama’s request. The House isn’t expected to vote until Friday at the earliest. But it

As we suspected, President Obama tried in his Wednesday-night speech to make it sound like he was doing something new when he, in fact, he is not. Moreover, in describing his response, he made plain that he doesn’t take the threat to the homeland seriously. For a threat his advisers say is greater than that posed by al-Qaeda after 2001, he proposed measures suitable for Yemen and Somalia. No, really — that’s the plan. For starters, the president doesn’t believe the Islamic State is a current threat to the U.S.: “So ISIL poses a threat to the people of Iraq

Rarely has a president faced a greater challenge in establishing his credibility for a new foreign-policy move than Barack Obama did in his nationally televised speech tonight. A CNN poll earlier this week found that just 30 percent of voters thought Obama had presented a clear plan for fighting the Islamic State. While Obama now pledges to ask Congress to train and aid Syrian rebels who would fight the group, voters remember that he backed similar plans in Syria in 2013, when his advisers saw Syrian president Bashar Assad as the major threat. President Obama just announced that he is bringing a counter-terrorism strategy to an insurgency fight. He was at pains to repeat the phrase “counter-terror” four times in a short speech. Noting that ISIL is not a state (partly because the international community thankfully does not recognize it), he declared, “ISIL is a terrorist organization, pure and simple. And it has no vision other than the slaughter of all who stand in its way.” Neither of those sentences, unfortunately, is true. ISIL is an insurgent group that controls enormous territory in Iraq and Syria that it governs. It maneuvers conventional light

Throughout his presidency, President Obama has emphasized one point while talking about Islamist extremists: They are not practicing Islam, he has said, they are perverting it. He took that a step further Wednesday night. While announcing that he´s expanding the campaign against the Islamic State extremist group into Syria, Obama said flatly that this group, which is trying to install a caliphate in the Middle East, "is not Islamic." He didn´t say they are perverting their religion; he said they´re not even part of that religion.
