Barack Obama locks out

San Francisco--President Barack Obama went to the West Coast to meet donors from two top Democratic super PACs, but the press wasn’t invited. Tuesday, the reporters and photographers traveling with the president on Air Force One and in his motorcade were left on the gravel path not even within sight of former Costco CEO Jim Sinegal’s house in the Seattle suburbs where Obama sat for a Senate Majority PAC fundraiser with a $25,000 entrance fee.(Snip)“We think these fundraisers ought to be open to at least some scrutiny, because the president’s participation in them is fundamentally public in nature,” said Christi Parsons,

Awww, the "press" must feel like children with their little noses pressed up to the window looking in while the grownups play their fundraising games. Boohoo! Since the day their dear "leader" came on the scene the "msm" has promoted, protected, deflected every charge against him as "partisan". Got news for them, he doesn´t like them any better than he does Republicans. What a pathetic group of leftist-sycophants these "news" jackals are. Journalism is dead in this country, with only exceptions on Conservative sites and very few newspapers. It is so bad that one of my main sources of information is now the Daily Mail. While it may be slanted left, at least they do report stories the media here refuses to print.

Washington--In a get-to-know-you visit fraught with awkward undertones, President Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India sought to repair a strained relationship between their nations on Tuesday, emerging with expressions of good will but little in the way of concrete deals. (Snip)Mr. Modi sat in front of an empty plate and had warm water for dinner while Mr. Obama and the two leaders’ entourages ate avocados and goat cheese, crisped halibut and basmati rice, a pumpkin crème brûlée and a California chardonnay. The 20-person dinner was a stark contrast to the lavish affair Mr. Obama threw for Mr. Modi’s

The Obama administration was grilled on Monday for inviting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a state dinner while he is fasting as part of a Hindu religious observance, a move that has been criticized by some as insensitive. Obama will host Modi Monday evening at the White House “for a private dinner” that will also be attended by Vice President Joe Biden, the White House announced Monday morning. The event is closed to the press. However, the administration appears to have forgotten that Modi is in the middle of carrying out a religious fast in observance of the Hindu

Fierce fighting has been reported on the outskirts of Baghdad where ISIS militants are attempting to seize control of the Iraqi capital - despite ongoing Western airstrikes against the terror group. The fighting is taking place just one mile to the west of the city, with government forces desperately trying to hold off the militants, who allegedly killed up to 1,000 soldiers during clashes yesterday. ISIS have held a number of towns and villages close to the Iraqi capital since earlier in the year, when government troops melted away following a lightning advance in the west of the country -

As the midterm campaigns heat up, Democratic candidates are turning to the White House for help and an injection of star power. But it is the first lady, not President Barack Obama, ?who in some places is emerging as the more sought-after campaigner. Some Democrats contend that Mr. Obama´s sagging popularity limits where he would be helpful this election cycle. Bringing higher approval ratings and a less-partisan pitch, Michelle Obama already has hit the trail, appearing earlier this month in Georgia with Senate candidate Michelle Nunn. Next month, the first lady´s campaign travel will include a visit to Iowa, where

Environment: The joke in Washington is that climate change alarmists in the White House care more about ice than ISIS. But it´s no joke. The world is aflame in violence and barbaric acts of terrorism, and Secretary of State John Kerry is running around warning one of the biggest problems facing the planet — ranking "right up there" with "terrorism, epidemics, poverty (and) the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction" — is global warming. Good thing almost no voters agree with him. Politico´s latest poll shows just 2% of likely voters in competitive House and Senate races listed the "environment"

It’s the “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” A New York appeals court next week will consider whether chimps should have the same rights as human beings. The extraordinary proceeding is the result of a lengthy battle by animal-rights activists who argue that animals with human qualities — including chimps — are entitled to human protections, including freedom from captivity. Steven Wise, part of the Nonhuman Rights Project, which is leading the effort, will have to convince a panel of Albany appellate judges that a chimp name Tommy is a “legal person” to get him moved from a cage

The Ebola epidemic, says Dr Margaret Chan, director-general of the World Health Organisation (WHO), is now “the greatest peacetime challenge” since the Second World War. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? ATLANTA — Texas, America’s second-most populous state behind California, saw 13 of its last abortion clinics turn away women on Friday, after a federal appeals court upheld a law that practically guarantees that only a handful of clinics will remain open in the state. The strictest-of-its-kind Texas law requires abortion providers to build hospital-grade facilities and obtain sometimes impossible-to-get hospital admitting privileges. After signed into law last year by Gov. Rick Perry (R), the law forced most of the 41 clinics operating to close. Thursday’s ruling wiped out a brief victory this summer for abortion rights proponents,
