The Odds of a GOP
Wave Are Increasing

National Journal, by Josh Kraushaar

When writing about politics, it´s all too frequent to use terminology that often obscures more than elucidates. That´s especially true when it comes to the word "wave"—shorthand for a landslide victory for the winning party. I´ve argued before that the likelihood of 2014 being a wave election has been rising, given the president´s consistently low approval ratings and the fact that Republicans are running evenly on the generic ballot (which usually translates into a clear GOP edge) and that the right-track/wrong-track numbers are near historic lows. All these big-picture signs are ominous for the party in power. But this week, The

Were this come to pass, what would change with Boehner and McConnell at the helm? Neither has the stones to do anything worthwhile. The GOP would be blamed for every sorry thing the Dems have done since Obama waltzed into office. The CrapMedia blitz would be unrelenting. The GOP response? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Not likely. The Dems have mastered voter fraud at this point. Don´t be surprised to see Dems take the House too.

Honest legitimate elections no longer exist thanks to the Marxist in chief.

2010 was an exceptionally good year for the GOP. But take a sober look at what happened next.

The key is exposing the socialist anti-Americanism of the Democrats, and the GOP just refuses to do it....

To echo #1, yes the GOP might make some impressive gains (if they can outrun the vote fraud) but they will most likely fail to rise to occasion after the wins, they´ll take the heat for all the Dems feckless policies put in place and be hardly able to reverse course. Then they´ll simply dither away the time until they lose it all back a few short years later. Just sayin´, based on past performances.

Yep, the reublicans could have made some substantial fixes to social security but the democrat wailing echoed by the MSM about the evil (at one time) nuclear option caused the repubs to pull their skirts over their heads. Absolutely gutless and sickening. That is why the RINOs MUST be cleared out so that those with boldness can do something.

If the Republicans take the Senate, watch Harry Reid and company quickly reinstate the filibuster in a lame duck session, much to the approval of the NYT, which will praise the procedure as an important bulwark against tyranny by the majority.

Wiping the slate clean and beginning again, from the top would be the suggestion here. Trash the gope elites who have held office for years and refuse to make room for the new pigs at the trough. One also needs to corral the asses and see them behind fences or behind the barn door. When voting, vote for an individual you might want to be your dad, or great uncle, or even your mom, grandmother or aunt. Before pulling the lever make certain you know ALL about him and would trust him with your life, the lives of your family and off-spring. America must get back on the right track this time round. This might possibly be our last opportunity to do so. If a tsunami should occur we need the holy water to make our nation pure once again. What is not needed is a path of destruction flooded with sewage, lies, distrust and propaganda.

WTP are aware that neither the gopes nor the asses are our friends and both threaten to destroy this Nation.

As #7 said, basically, even if Republicans take the Senate, Reid will STILL be in charge. To think if McConnell is SML that anything substantive will be accomplished is sheer silliness. We have plenty of history to go by..

The show trial is underway and the guilty verdict is guaranteed, as a United Nations panel makes a pretense of investigating human rights violations in the 50-day war between Israel and Hamas. To his severe discredit, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has sanctioned a proceeding whose transparent rigging would be at home in a totalitarian regime. Israel is, of course, the defendant going down the tubes. Hamas started the conflict by firing thousands of rockets indiscriminately into the Jewish state from heavily populated areas of Gaza, and prolonged the suffering by violating ceasefire after ceasefire that Israel honored. While each Hamas rocket was

Joseph R. Biden’s 2016 presidential ambitions already look like they have been swallowed whole by the Hillary Rodham Clinton juggernaut, but political analysts say the vice president still has a narrow path to victory — one that depends on either out-politicking the former first lady in crucial states such as Iowa or praying she makes a grave mistake. Mr. Biden and Mrs. Clinton both visited Iowa, home of the first caucuses in the presidential primary cycle, over the past week. Neither has declared a White House run in two years, but each seemed to be courting the Democratic foot soldiers necessary

Replacing Obamacare Saves a Lot of Money

Supporters of the Obama administration like to create the impression that there is no viable alternative to the Affordable Care Act — i.e., Obamacare. But that is demonstrably not true. Republican senators Richard Burr, Tom Coburn, and Orrin Hatch introduced a plan earlier this year that would cover just as many people with insurance as Obamacare at a fraction of the cost. Now we have confirmation, in the form of a new cost estimate, that a similarly constructed but slightly different proposal would also cost less, while covering nearly the same number of people. The plan, developed and promoted by the 2017

On Monday, Attorney General Eric Holder, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, and New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo sounded the alarm about the escalating danger of a terrorist attack on America by ISIS and other jihadists. Too bad the Obama administration lacks the resolve or sense of urgency to meet this danger head on. Worse, political correctness is hindering New York, a likely target, from tracking and stopping the jihadists in our midst. Holder announced “pilot programs” to “raise awareness,” bringing together religious leaders, community leaders, and law enforcement to build “community partnerships.” Sounds heartwarming. Emails sent by liberal activists and obtained by The Hill reveal significant dissatisfaction with Hillary Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016. The critical messages about the former first lady show that she has a long way to go to assuage skepticism from influential voices on the left. The Hill reviewed hundreds of emails from a progressive members only Google group called the “Gamechanger Salon,” a forum where nearly 1,500 activists, strategists and journalists debate issues and craft messaging campaigns. The group includes prominent Democrats, Sierra Club officials, journalists who work for The Huffington Post and The Nation magazine, senior

he New York Times on Wednesday carried a provocative front-page dispatch from Kentucky by Abby Goodnough, who’s been doing a superb job of covering the impact of the Affordable Care Act in the Bluegrass State as a window into the law’s import nationally. The piece captures the political dynamic in Kentucky, where Obamacare has slashed the rate of the uninsured from 20.4 percent to 11.9 percent, the second largest drop after Arkansas, but where this success is seemingly not redounding to the benefit of Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, who is now lagging in the polls against Mitch McConnell.

Devastating. That´s really the only way to describe Politico´s piece on DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. (I hereby nominate her for Worst Week in Washington.) (Editor´s note: Three words -- Joseph. Robinette. Biden.) Based on interviews with DNC staffers -- both former and current -- the piece described Wasserman Schultz as something of a modern-day Tracy Flick: over-eager, disloyal and not shy about promoting her ambitions. It would be fair to say that she sounds like, well, a lot like other politicians. And this would be accurate. But the wholesale bashing of Wasserman Schultz at every level of the party -- White House,

On Thursday, when White House Press Sec. Josh Earnest was asked how Americans who are asked to serve in what Gen. Martin Dempsey called a “combat advisory role” alongside indigenous forces would react if they were fired upon, Earnest replied with the obvious (via The Washington Times): President Obama expects U.S. troops to return fire if Islamic State militants
