No Rest for the Wicked
National Review Online, by Jim Geraghty

Tuesday, President Obama visited the Dutch Embassy in Washington, D.C., and wrote in a condolence book for the victims of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, “We will not rest until we are certain that justice is done.” He then departed for a three-day fundraising trip to the West Coast. Obama’s pledge that “we will not rest until . . . ” may sound familiar to you. In fact, the pledge is so chronically overused, and issued so casually, that it no longer carries much meaning. Here’s a brief history: April 9, 2009: “We will not rest until we reach a day when not one

Another over used phrases are

´to be fair to the American people´
´it´s the right thing to do´
´focus like a laser´
´all that stuff´
´I need more of taxpayer´s monies´
´It´s not MY fault; my administration, my law, my committee, my czars. Me myself and I

A has been ´man´ in a one-world society. Does he ever realize how juvenile he speaks?

Truly, it almost makes the McCain phrase ´My friends´ seem benign and so plain vanilla. BTW WTP are not John´s friend just some peons who have heard of him.

Of course had he said ´we will not rest until we have shaken down every possible donor.....´ or ´we will not rest until we have harrassed every conservative group we find.....´ I could have been able to believe THAT given the preponderance of evidence so far.

It all depends on your meaning of “resting.” Or, more accurately, his meaning of “resting.” Those sneaky leftists! They have such a way with words.

We seem to be in a cliche-driven society, where terms and phrases have no REAL meaning. Watched an old History Channel documentary on Rumsfeld, and he told how he developed a "dictionary" for words and phrases that were used in the early days after 9/11. He wanted to be "perfectly clear" everyone used the correct terms so there would be no ambiguity in stated goals and objectives for the war on terror.

The PIG has no thought processes to even have this level of thinking. Nor does he want to. As long as no one (including ANYONE in the media) challenges his words or intent, he will continue to the next tee.. We´re too consumed with dissecting Tony Dungy´s: "I wouldn´t have drafted him. . "

Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s ongoing deployment of 1,000 National Guard troops along the Rio Grande may be helpful in his second try for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016. The move also continues a distinctively Texan balancing act on immigration that Perry has been maintaining for well over a decade. The question is whether Perry represents the future of his party on immigration — or whether his nuanced positions on the issue will again become a liability in national politics. “It takes a very skilled politician to come across as tough on border security while, at the same time, not

With approval ratings for Congress falling somewhere below used-car salesmen and three-card monty dealers, it’s not often one will see an incumbent underperforming their individual approval rating. Yet that’s just what Jeanne Shaheen is doing in her Senate re-election bid in New Hampshire. According to a new CNN poll of likely voters, Scott Brown has pulled into a 48-all tie with Shaheen, even though she has a majority favorable rating from the same pool of voters. It was the time of unraveling. Long afterward, in the ruins, people asked: How could it happen? It was a time of beheadings. With a left-handed sawing motion, against a desert backdrop, in bright sunlight, a Muslim with a British accent cut off the heads of two American journalists and a British aid worker. The jihadi seemed comfortable in his work, unhurried. His victims were broken. Terror is theater. Burning skyscrapers, severed heads: The terrorist takes movie images of unbearable lightness and gives them weight enough to embed themselves in the psyche. It was a time of aggression. Under what authority is President Obama going to war against ISIS, the omnivorous octopus that has ruthlessly gobbled up territory in the Middle East? His advisers cite the 2002 Authorization for the Use of Military Force against al Qaeda. That´s somewhat confusing, because al Qaeda has become an ISIS antagonist. Indeed, there is quite a bit about the fight against ISIS that remains opaque. What is it "we" are doing, exactly? Does it compare to what we´ve already done in Iraq and in Afghanistan? If the threat is not imminent, why would we want to do anything? Here´s my attempt to sort

Of the 48 states on the list, three contributed troops to the invasion force (the United Kingdom, Australia and Poland). WASHINGTON — Islamic State militants, who once relied on wealthy Persian Gulf donors for money, have become a self-sustaining financial juggernaut, making more than $3 million a day from oil smuggling, human trafficking, theft and extortion, according to U.S. intelligence officials and private experts. The extremist group’s resources exceed that “of any other terrorist group in history,” said a U.S. intelligence official. The Islamic State, or ISIS, has taken over large sections of Syria and Iraq, and controls as many as 11 oil fields in both countries, analysts say. It is selling oil and other goods through generations-old smuggling networks under the noses
