MH17 crash: Did Russia pull

(Video) Kiev, Ukraine- Did a Russian fire the missile that downed Malaysia Airlines Flight 17? That depends on who you ask. A top Ukrainian official says he has no doubt. Vitaly Nayda, Ukraine´s director of informational security, told CNN the person who shot down the flight was "absolutely" a Russian. "A Russian-trained, well-equipped, well-educated officer ... pushed that button deliberately," he said. "We taped conversations" between a Russian officer and his office in Moscow, Nayda said. "We know for sure that several minutes before the missile was launched, there was a report" to a Russian officer that the plane was

Why has no one questioned Ukraine´s purported audio tapes? The Ukraine Govt somehow miraculously had audio of the Russians shooting down the plane and pictures of the exact missile launcher they shot it with, about an hour after the plane was shot down. No one else finds this incredible? U.S. Intelligence now states there is no evidence directly linking Russia to the attack. This clearly contradicts the Ukranian photos. If the photos were fabricated, isn´t it likely the audio was as well?

Just call her a pit bull without lipstick! Sarah Palin is proving she has a sense of humor about the makeup-free photos that surfaced this week. On Monday, the 50-year-old politician was photographed by paparazzi looking fresh-faced without any cosmetics on. But instead of getting mad about the slyly snapped no-makeup shots, the former Alaska governor took to Facebook to joke about the incident. "Feel bad for the poor paparazzi hounding outside my truck this morning hoping to capture a tabloid ‘exclusive´ of me coming out of Bikram Hot Yoga. How about we take away their ‘exclusive´ and I´ll give

On Tuesday, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) said that a comprehensive amnesty bill would have helped America contain the Ebola epidemic in Africa. Durbin, a member of the Senate´s Gang of Eight that wrote the immigration reform bill, said during a Senate hearing on Ebola that the Senate´s amnesty bill would have even allowed doctors in the United States to travel to Africa to combat Ebola "without jeopardizing their immigration status." “We included in the immigration reform bill, which passed the United States Senate, a provision which provided, in one respect, if you are medically trained in Africa and promise to

The Republicans in the House who spearheaded the formation of a special Select Committee on Benghazi have insisted that their investigations into the Sept. 11, 2012 attack won´t be politically motivated. Democrats joined the committee with the aim of keeping politics out of the effort. Still, ahead of the committee´s first public hearing, neither Democrats nor Republicans have seemed capable of defusing one of the most politically-charged issues in Washington. (Snip) When asked Tuesday whether he is concerned the committee is inherently political, Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Maryland, the committee´s top Democrat, declined to answer directly. Ahead of the House Select Committee on Benghazi’s highly-anticipated first public hearing Wednesday, Democrats offered some of their own answers to questions surrounding the terrorist attack while Republicans urged them not to prejudge the investigation before it starts. The jockeying follows months of behind-the-scenes work that will culminate in an open airing of how well the State Department has done in implementing its own internal review panel’s recommendations for fixing the kinds of problems that led to the attack, which cost the lives of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Maryland Democrat and the

The unveiling of President Obama’s new plan to contain the Ebola virus did little to appease critics who questioned the White House’s commitment to halting an epidemic with wide-ranging national security consequences. After weeks of prodding from African nations, the president on Tuesday used a trip to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to announce a blueprint to send up to 3,000 military personnel to West Africa, part of an effort to spend roughly $750 million to limit the spread of Ebola. "Ebola is now an epidemic of the likes we have not seen before,” Obama insisted. "It is

MINNEAPOLIS — After a day of public pressure from angry fans and concerned sponsors, the Minnesota Vikings have reversed course and placed star running back Adrian Peterson on the exempt-commissioner’s permission list, a move that will require him to stay away from the team while he addresses child abuse charges in Texas. The Vikings made the announcement early Wednesday morning, about a day and a half after initially deciding that Peterson could play with the team while the legal process played out. Peterson is charged with a felony for using a wooden switch to spank his 4-year-old son and now

A week ago, President Obama stood before the American people and promised that the expanding fight against the Islamic State — a vicious Sunni militant group known as ISIS or ISIL that is terrorizing parts of Iraq and Syria — would not mean a commitment of American ground troops. “As I have said before, these American forces will not have a combat mission,” he said. On Tuesday, Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, had a very different message when he testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee. “If we reach the point where I believe

In other words, whom does he go to for advice, for geopolitical thinking or just plain common sense? Whom does he speak confidentially with? Does he call, say, President Bush-41 and get some thoughts about putting together a coalition? Has he spoken to President Bush-43 about shifting strategies, like the surge of 2007? Has he spoken to President Clinton about revamping his administration, as we saw

Democrats are now (very slightly) favored to hold the Senate majority on Nov. 4, according to Election Lab, the Post´s statistical model of the 2014 midterm elections. Election Lab puts Democrats´ chances of retaining their majority at 51 percent -- a huge change from even a few months ago when the model predicted that Republicans had a better than 80 percent chance of winning the six seats they need to take control. First Lady Michelle Obama has made healthy eating and exercise her signature issue. But, a recent study published by the Sage Journal found that her “elitist” advice actually “shames poor and middle class mothers.” The College Fix added that the study found that Michelle Obama’s healthy eating program is also sexist. It’s also sexist, the study’s authors suggest, noting that “intentionally or not, it places the burden of a healthy home-cooked meal on women.” Sage Journals published the study by North Carolina researchers Sarah Bowen, Sinikka Elliott and Joslyn Brenton. Washington - The current threat posed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, will test not only the resolve and strategic judgment of America and its allies, but also our nation’s fidelity to a basic constitutional principle. Our Constitution reserves to Congress the power to declare war and designates our president as the commander in chief, but our recent history has been characterized by executive overreach and legislative abdication in the initiation of military action. The current crisis gives us an opportunity to restore the proper balance between the branches. America’s history since 2001 should compel us to fix the way
