Chrysler recalls 792,000 older Jeeps
CNN Money, by Katie Lobosco

New York - Chrysler recalled about 792,000 older SUVs Tuesday for ignition switch problems. The flaw affects Jeep Commanders from model years 2006-2007 and Jeep Grand Cherokees from 2005-2007. The issue is linked to one accident, but the company is unaware of any related injuries. The problem can cause the ignition key to move out of the "on" position while the car is being driven, usually because it was bumped by a driver´s knee, the company said in a statement. That could cause the engine to stall and the front airbags to stop working. Problems with ignition switches have been found in millions of vehicles recalled this year.

Car makers frequently source parts from other manufacturers, so it could be Delphi but jeesh, you´d have to bump into the key to turn it off. The sky is falling.

Even cops with a warrant to pull private user data off of someone´s fancy new iPhone or iPad might be out of luck—Apple says that with the release of iOS 8, it´s now not physically possible for even the company itself to access that info, reports the Washington Post. In an open letter posted yesterday on the Apple website, CEO Tim Cook explains the company´s commitment to customer privacy, facilitated by a new encryption process that will hopefully keep at bay attacks like the recent celebrity nude-photo hack (which, incidentally, Apple says wasn´t its fault). The tiny plastic beads found in many popular toothpaste brands are approved by regulators, but dentists are becoming increasingly alarmed that the beads could cause more dental hygiene problems than they solve. Polyethylene plastic beads became all the rage in personal care products -- including toothpastes, face washes and body scrubs -- a few years ago. And the Food and Drug Administration says they´re safe. But the beads do not disintegrate and are not biodegradable, and dentists are concerned that they´re getting suck in the tiny crevices of teeth. More than one third of the House -- 71 Republicans and 85 Democrats -- voted no. Many Republicans argue the strategy isn´t tough enough to defeat ISIS; many Democrats worry the plan could drag the United States into another long military engagement. The proposal would authorize the Pentagon to provide assistance to "appropriately vetted" members of the Syrian opposition and require the administration to give Congress a
