A double scorcher:
June joins May with heat record

USA Today, by Doyle Rice

Original Article

Posted By:addicted_to_coffee, 7/22/2014 3:01:19 PM

Last month was the Earth´s warmest June since records began in 1880, according to data released Monday by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). It marked the second-straight month the world set a warm-temperature record. (Snip) The developing El Niño — a warming of tropical Pacific Ocean water — was a main contributor to the heat in June, she said. Most of the world's land areas saw warmer-than-average monthly temperatures, with record warmth measured across part of southeastern Greenland, parts of northern South America, areas in eastern and central Africa, and sections of southern and southeastern Asia.

Comments:
Didn´t we just hear that the El Nino was not being observed?

I don´t trust anything these guys "measure" vs. model. Just too many ways to jimmie the results to fit the theory.

Southern hemisphere having record cold winter right now isn´t counted? Where is all this heat? Even though Calif. is having a drought this has been an unusually cool spring and summer. They say the El Nino is "developing" but it hasn´t really developed. As such it is having no effect. It is not there.
Just another sermon for the faithful.

They should just go ahead and move the weather section of the newspaper to the editorial page.

Meanwhile global sea ice is just about at the same levels as in 1979 - when the satellite used to measure ice coverage at each of the two poles was placed in orbit.

Where´s our (here in New England) July "heat wave", three days of temperatures above 90 degrees?

Have you noticed in the southwest, you rarely see temps in the 100s?

Up here, we need blankets at night; the tomatoes are not ripening on the vine; roses last longer on the plants; Robins are flying around like in Springtime.

It IS Summer, so we have hot weather.

Looking at the weather maps, one can´t help but think of the patterns of ice sheets during glacial periods.

But, I suspect we are experiencing the natural fluctuations.

Didn´t NOAA just revise their website from 2012 to 1936 being the hottest on record. Give this a few months and it will change too. Just like the weather.

Know what? I have been most places all over the world including USA in my adult years. I have been in Egypt in Summer....it is very hot and dry.....130 degrees in the desert places. I have been in Africa and in South America...and Mexico in summer....super HUMID.....yowsa...I have been in Las Vegas in July......nice but dry. I have been in Israel in May..that was nice but Egypt was much hotter as was Greece. I have been in Florida in July.....humid but tolerable. Mexico was much worse. I have traveled throughout Canada in all seasons and they are the same now weather-wise. So don´t tell me it´s different unless you are my age and have traveled. Be very wary of this brainwashing that´s going on in this world......especially this country. Look at how they (MEDIA) blow the weather out of proportion and you find out it was NOTHING to speak of. Come on now.....USE that Intellect God gave you! God said there would be weather changes......and I believe it´s coming..but when they come.....We, who have read the Bible, will know.

So much of what was blared in the headlines from these "weather activists" turned out to not be true. Why should be believe anything they say? The old adage applies--"A liar is not believed even when he is telling the truth".

Here in Texas we have had about 3 or 4 days where the temperature crept up to 100. Normally by the last part of July we have had weeks on end with temperatures over that, sometimes much over.

A couple of years ago had 42 days in a row over 100.

Boy global warming, aka climate variation, is a threat to civilization.

In January it was 28 degrees, now in July it is 100. If this global warming trend continues, by December it will be 172 degrees and we will all die!

The United States economy rebounded strongly in the second quarter of the year, shaking off the negative effects of an unusually harsh winter and stirring hopes that it might finally be establishing a solid enough footing to put the lingering effects of the recession squarely in the past. The Commerce Department, in its initial estimate for April, May and June, reported on Wednesday that the economy grew at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4 percent, surpassing expectations.

WASHINGTON — Raising beef for the American dinner table does far more damage to the environment than producing pork, poultry, eggs or dairy, a new study says. Compared with the other animal proteins, beef produces five times more heat-trapping gases per calorie, puts out six times as much water-polluting nitrogen, takes 11 times more water for irrigation and uses 28 times the land, according to the study, published Monday in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

President Barack Obama returned a formal military salute with a one-handed coffee-cup salute Tuesday, only a few hours after he dispatched the nation’s military on their attack mission into northern Syria. White House aides posted the sloppy salute video on Instagram. The commander in chief offered the coffee-cup salute when he disembarked from his U.S. Marine Corps helicopter in New York, as he made his way to the United Nations General Assembly. “President Obama just landed in New York for #UNGA2014,” says the caption. The salute is “the most important of all military courtesies,” says a manual for Marine Corps officer candidates. “In some situations,

President Barack Obama saluted a pair of United States Marines on Tuesday while holding what appeared to be a styrofoam cup in his saluting hand, a breach of military regulations that won´t win him fans among veterans and servicemen. Obama is known for drinking tea, not coffee, when he travels, especially before delivering speeches. His quasi-saluting gesture was an instant embarrassment for the White House, and not because his environmentally taboo drinkware clashed with the green-policy speech he was on his way to deliver at a UN Climate Summit. On Tuesday, shortly after announcing to the American public that the United States was now bombing ISIS in Syria, the President of the United States flew to New York to address the United Nations – on climate change. His speech mixed high-flown sentiment with apologies for America, and pledged American sacrifice in the name of a lofty goal without evidence that such sacrifice would in any way contribute to attaining that goal. In other words, it was a typical Barack Obama whirligig. Even as American warplanes struck targets in Syria, even as regimes tottered in Jordan and Iraq and Yemen,

In one case, a waitress-turned-award-winning-author revealed that she felt so awkward, that she donated both of his $1,000 tips to an abortion charity. Merritt Tierce, whose debut novel Love Me Back chronicles her time at a high-end Dallas steakhouse, revealed in an interview with Dallas News that, at the time, she was also the executive director of the Texas Equal Abortion (TEA) Fund, which provides financial assistance to low-income women seeking abortions.

The former Internal Revenue Service official referenced the infamous cannibalistic serial killer as she broke her silence for the first time about last year’s IRS scandal. Lerner told the website Politico that she has been the recipient of threats and hate mail, describing how one person called her “the worst person ever in the United States.” “I just thought, ‘Boy, worse than Jeffrey Dahmer?’” Lerner quipped. Lerner, who led the tax-exempt division of the IRS, was forced out of the agency after she found herself at the center of the scandal over the agency’s targeting of conservative groups

One of them—the last—was less good, given he had gone MIA for the better part of three weeks and I had a sneaking suspicion he had a girlfriend. We hadn’t slept together, but the kisses had been the type of kisses you walk away from with shaky knees and blind hope. If so, this means Chelsea Clinton’s favorite animal could be something her child would never know. “The child Marc and I

During the Bush administration, national Democrat leaders threatened to kill the ABC network´s broadcast license if a miniseries unfavorable to the Clinton administration wasn´t censored to satisfy Democrats. ABC complied. Earlier this year, Democrats started a push for a Constitutional Amendment to gut (literally) the First Amendment. Over the weekend, Democrats launched a campaign to get -- in their own words -- "Rush Limbaugh off the air." The petition to get Limbaugh off the air comes straight from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in the form of a fundraising/petition email.
