A double scorcher:
June joins May with heat record

USA Today, by Doyle Rice

Original Article

Posted By:addicted_to_coffee, 7/22/2014 3:01:19 PM

Last month was the Earth´s warmest June since records began in 1880, according to data released Monday by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). It marked the second-straight month the world set a warm-temperature record. (Snip) The developing El Niño — a warming of tropical Pacific Ocean water — was a main contributor to the heat in June, she said. Most of the world's land areas saw warmer-than-average monthly temperatures, with record warmth measured across part of southeastern Greenland, parts of northern South America, areas in eastern and central Africa, and sections of southern and southeastern Asia.

Comments:
Didn´t we just hear that the El Nino was not being observed?

I don´t trust anything these guys "measure" vs. model. Just too many ways to jimmie the results to fit the theory.

Southern hemisphere having record cold winter right now isn´t counted? Where is all this heat? Even though Calif. is having a drought this has been an unusually cool spring and summer. They say the El Nino is "developing" but it hasn´t really developed. As such it is having no effect. It is not there.
Just another sermon for the faithful.

They should just go ahead and move the weather section of the newspaper to the editorial page.

Meanwhile global sea ice is just about at the same levels as in 1979 - when the satellite used to measure ice coverage at each of the two poles was placed in orbit.

Where´s our (here in New England) July "heat wave", three days of temperatures above 90 degrees?

Have you noticed in the southwest, you rarely see temps in the 100s?

Up here, we need blankets at night; the tomatoes are not ripening on the vine; roses last longer on the plants; Robins are flying around like in Springtime.

It IS Summer, so we have hot weather.

Looking at the weather maps, one can´t help but think of the patterns of ice sheets during glacial periods.

But, I suspect we are experiencing the natural fluctuations.

Didn´t NOAA just revise their website from 2012 to 1936 being the hottest on record. Give this a few months and it will change too. Just like the weather.

Know what? I have been most places all over the world including USA in my adult years. I have been in Egypt in Summer....it is very hot and dry.....130 degrees in the desert places. I have been in Africa and in South America...and Mexico in summer....super HUMID.....yowsa...I have been in Las Vegas in July......nice but dry. I have been in Israel in May..that was nice but Egypt was much hotter as was Greece. I have been in Florida in July.....humid but tolerable. Mexico was much worse. I have traveled throughout Canada in all seasons and they are the same now weather-wise. So don´t tell me it´s different unless you are my age and have traveled. Be very wary of this brainwashing that´s going on in this world......especially this country. Look at how they (MEDIA) blow the weather out of proportion and you find out it was NOTHING to speak of. Come on now.....USE that Intellect God gave you! God said there would be weather changes......and I believe it´s coming..but when they come.....We, who have read the Bible, will know.

So much of what was blared in the headlines from these "weather activists" turned out to not be true. Why should be believe anything they say? The old adage applies--"A liar is not believed even when he is telling the truth".

Here in Texas we have had about 3 or 4 days where the temperature crept up to 100. Normally by the last part of July we have had weeks on end with temperatures over that, sometimes much over.

A couple of years ago had 42 days in a row over 100.

Boy global warming, aka climate variation, is a threat to civilization.

In January it was 28 degrees, now in July it is 100. If this global warming trend continues, by December it will be 172 degrees and we will all die!

The United States economy rebounded strongly in the second quarter of the year, shaking off the negative effects of an unusually harsh winter and stirring hopes that it might finally be establishing a solid enough footing to put the lingering effects of the recession squarely in the past. The Commerce Department, in its initial estimate for April, May and June, reported on Wednesday that the economy grew at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4 percent, surpassing expectations.

WASHINGTON — Raising beef for the American dinner table does far more damage to the environment than producing pork, poultry, eggs or dairy, a new study says. Compared with the other animal proteins, beef produces five times more heat-trapping gases per calorie, puts out six times as much water-polluting nitrogen, takes 11 times more water for irrigation and uses 28 times the land, according to the study, published Monday in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Former President George W. Bush put together a 48 member coalition for the Iraq War in 2003. 40 of those members supported military operations and 37 provided some number troops. In April 2003, the list was updated to include 49 countries, though it was reduced to 48 after Costa Rica objected to its inclusion. Of the 48 states on the list, three contributed troops to the invasion force (the United Kingdom, Australia and Poland). An additional 37 countries provided some number of troops to support military operations after the invasion was complete. Despite these numbers the liberal media continues to push the lie

"More than 2,400 men, women, and children are known to have died and we strongly suspect that the actual death toll is higher than that," Obama said in a speech at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. "Hospitals, clinics, and the few treatment centers that do exist have been completely overwhelmed." The president was particularly dire

Democrats are now (very slightly) favored to hold the Senate majority on Nov. 4, according to Election Lab, the Post´s statistical model of the 2014 midterm elections. Election Lab puts Democrats´ chances of retaining their majority at 51 percent -- a huge change from even a few months ago when the model predicted that Republicans had a better than 80 percent chance of winning the six seats they need to take control. (Worth noting: When the model showed Republicans as overwhelming favorites, our model builders -- led by George Washington University´s John Sides -- warned that the model could and

First Lady Michelle Obama has made healthy eating and exercise her signature issue. But, a recent study published by the Sage Journal found that her “elitist” advice actually “shames poor and middle class mothers.” The College Fix added that the study found that Michelle Obama’s healthy eating program is also sexist. It’s also sexist, the study’s authors suggest, noting that “intentionally or not, it places the burden of a healthy home-cooked meal on women.” Sage Journals published the study by North Carolina researchers Sarah Bowen, Sinikka Elliott and Joslyn Brenton. Here are a few of the findings: Magazines such as Good Housekeeping and
