NAACP: Detroit water
shutoffs are racially motivated

Washington Times, by Jessica Chasmar

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 7/22/2014 11:01:52 AM

The NAACP Legal Defense Fund has filed a class action lawsuit against the city of Detroit for water shutoffs that members claim are racially motivated. The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department stopped service to about 7,200 buildings with overdue bills in June, compared to 1,570 in the same month last year. The issue gained national attention last month after activists appealed to the United Nations for help. The shutoffs are “being done in a discriminatory fashion,” the NAACP’s Veronica Joice told a local CBS affiliate. “They should at least take a look at whether there’s a better way to do this that doesn’t affect the most vulnerable citizens

There is only one legitimate civil rights organization left and it´s not the NAACP which is a wing of the Dem party. The true one is the Congress of Racial Equality-C.O.R.E which never gets any coverage by the MSM for its outstanding global initiatives

I guess what they´re saying is that the people who decided to not pay for their water were black. I can´t imagine the nnacp coming to the aid of white people. Hmmm.

Evidently the preponderance of deadbeats in Detroit are black so the NAACP feels a have to intervene on their behalf! This organization is racist to its core!

This aptly underscores how the liberal mindsets wrecks a community. They stopped paying their water bills and nothing happened. The water kept coming. By 2014 nearly half the residents weren´t paying their water bill and the water company is practically bankrupt. Now they are furious that it wasn´t free after all.

What´s next? Eating in a restaurant, it´s free because they are black? Mercedes, should be given to them, not bought. Supermarkets, food should be free for them, whites can pay.

Let´s see now, the company is mostly white so it is racist because the people being cut off are mostly Black. You can look at that another way. Since most of the people who are not paying their water bill are black, they are the racists since they are withholding/not paying funds that are legally due to a white company. That BS works two ways NAACP.

It´s coming to the point that a company might not want to provide services to a Black client. If the client defaults on payment the business has no recourse because they will be accused of racism and dragged into courts. That´s not very profitable.

This is an example of why the city is bankrupt, fiscally and ethically.

The copper cliffs were brilliantly lit in the midday sun, which burned our uncovered heads as we trudged up a steep incline toward the amphitheater that Franklin Roosevelt’s Works Progress Administration ingeniously carved into the boulders. We had come because Hart wanted to show me something, and as we made our way uphill, I was soon breathing heavily in the mile-high air. But I was more aware of Hart, who, at 72, labored audibly despite his legendary ruggedness.

It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today.
