Perdue, Kingston make final campaign

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Georgia´s two Republican candidates for US Senate, David Perdue and Jack Kingston, are facing off in the polls Tuesday, and they are taking different approaches with their last-minute strategies. Businessman David Perdue spent the last day of his runoff campaign on a fly-around tour of the state, and greeted his Columbus supporters on one of his stops. Perdue has been on the road for two weeks with an RV tour, and he says he feels good about Election Day because Muscogee County voters agree with him on important issues. "I´m very confident that they´re going to stand with me and

They are both establishment so I don´t care which one wins. I will vote for Michelle Nunn in November.

Then just put the D on your registration and quit pretending to be a principled conservative. Because you surely know that Michelle Nunn will be a reliable prop for Harry Reid in his 2015 Majority Leader reelection.

Not too much in the article, especially if you´re not from here (GA)

Either will have some work to do against Nunn, but I have to say Erick Erickerson (RedState) has the lasting line and bumper sticker for the general election: "Her last name and experience level are exactly the same."

This race has been especially nasty on both sides. Ditto for the race to fill Kingston´s old House seat. I´m afraid all the mudslinging and fact distortion will only give the Dems a lot of ammunition in the General election. These races have gotten so bad I don´t know who I will vote for, as all 4 sound like Chicken Little, rather than statesmen.

Well, a vote for Michelle Nunn certainly will do wonders--absolute WONDERS--to advance the conservative cause.

Nunn isn´t establishment? Her father was Sam Nunn. She´s about as establishment as it gets.

Have to agree with poster #7, Michelle certainly is establishment and imagine many here in GA would agree. Believe her career history is primarily working with a non-profit; a noble endeavor, but does it prepare her for a political seat - not in my opinion.

Ryder Cup week is underway and it wouldn’t be right if no one were discussing the fake controversies and supposed slights that dominate the days leading up to actual golf. This year’s subject? Rickie Fowler’s “USA” haircut. Oliver Brown, a sports writer at The Telegraph, wrote that Fowler’s “GI Joe-style crewcut” is “an exhibition of thuggish jingoism” that could make the biennial event “nasty.” Brown used Fowler’s haircut to draw conclusions about the fiery intentions of the entire American squad, especially its coach. Brown singled out Team USA captain Tom Watson as “the gentleman golfer, embodying the virtues of grace, humility and

President Obama should be commended for yesterday’s air attacks against ISIS. In addition, his decision to bomb the jidhadist Khorasan group, which is believed to be plotting attacks against the West, is praiseworthy. As to this affiliate of al Qaeda, Obama seems, for once, to be acting rather than reacting. Even so, I tend to agree with Max Boot who argues that the most consequential news from the Levant yesterday is not the air attacks, but rather advances by ISIS on the ground. In Iraq, ISIS attackers in Anbar Province reportedly killed more than 300 Iraqi soldiers after a weeklong siege

The Clinton Global Initiative, which gathers in New York this week for its 10th annual meeting, has always had a Hollywood feel to it, not least because there are invariably a few celebrities invited to mingle with the corporate suits and international development worthies. This year’s batch includes actor-activists Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Ashley Judd and Eva Longoria. The biggest celebrity, of course, is typically the former president himself, who provides participants with plenty of photo ops as he guides the conversation like a cross between an eminent professor and an ebullient Oscar host. WASHINGTON - A record 20 percent of adult Americans, or 42 million people, have never married, marking a U.S. demographic and social shift, according to an analysis released on Wednesday. The rise in never-married adults is caused by several factors, including later ages for marriage and more people living together and raising children outside of wedlock, the report by the Pew Research Center said. In 2012, 23 percent of men and 17 percent of women 25 and older had never been married, marking a widening gap between the sexes. In 1960, 10 percent of men and 8 percent of women had never

President Barack Obama returned a formal military salute with a one-handed coffee-cup salute Tuesday, only a few hours after he dispatched the nation’s military on their attack mission into northern Syria. White House aides posted the sloppy salute video on Instagram. The commander in chief offered the coffee-cup salute when he disembarked from his U.S. Marine Corps helicopter in New York, as he made his way to the United Nations General Assembly. “President Obama just landed in New York for #UNGA2014,” says the caption. WASHINGTON -- Long the bane of gardeners and unwary motorists, soaring deer populations are also nuisances for airports and threats to pilots, especially at this time of year, according to aviation and wildlife experts. Whether driven by hunger or just crazy for love, deer will do seemingly anything to get onto airport grounds and runways, including leaping over tall fences or squeezing under them. Once there, they like to warm themselves by sauntering on runways, which hold heat longer than cold ground. But put a deer and a plane together on a runway and both can have a very bad day. From
