Obama’s Bold Order on Bias
New York Times, by Editors

Original Article

Posted By:jackson, 7/22/2014 7:57:45 AM

“Our government of the people, by the people and for the people will become just a little bit fairer,” said President Obama on Monday just before signing an executive order prohibiting federal contractors, which employ 20 percent of the nation’s work force, from discriminating against gay men, lesbians and transgender people in their employment practices. “We’re on the right side of history,” Mr. Obama correctly declared regarding this important measure, which also explicitly protects federal employees against discrimination based on gender identity, a category covering transgender employees (bias based on sexual orientation was already prohibited).

It may be on the "right side" of current politically correct history, but you can be sure that, many years from now, it will not be on the "right side" of civilization´s history. What arrogant, small minded egos these liberals have.

A Clinton Versus a Bush? Jeb

NBC News, by Perry Bacon Jr.    Original Article

While a broad, deep coalition of Democrats is urging Hillary Clinton to run for president, Republicans so far aren´t rallying behind the politician in their party from a famous political family: Jeb Bush. In the spring, at the height of the controversy over lane closures in New Jersey that implicated the staff of Gov. Chris Christie, GOP donors talked publicly about drafting the former Florida governor and the son and brother of ex-presidents into the race to be the Republican establishment candidate they had expected Christie to be. But the informal talk never galvanized into the kind of political movement that has made Clinton

The big Republican guns are coming out this week to help embattled Sen. Pat Roberts in Kansas. Sarah Palin, Jeb Bush and John McCain are among the major GOP figures who will travel to Kansas in the coming days to boost Roberts, who finds himself in an unexpected battle with independent Greg Orman. Roberts will continue campaigning Tuesday with former Senate majority leader Bob Dole, a Kansas icon, who let out his trademark wit to champion his friend. “I have a litany of things that Pat’s done for Dodge City, but at my age I’ve forgot them all,” Dole, 91, said Monday.

Retired Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg have previously officiated at the wedding of gay and lesbian couples, including at the Supreme Court.

First Lady Michelle Obama visited sick children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where she complained about living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and being married to the president of the United States. She made the comments in response to being asked about her "favorite part about being in the White House." "About being in the -- about being First Lady is being able to do stuff like this, really. September should be a great time of year for sports fans. Baseball pennant races getting dramatic. College football already in top form. NFL finally on every channel every other day of the week. And, of course, Fantasy Football in full swing. It should be a time when Xs and Os are over analyzed and team passions are on full display. Instead, this weekend was all about substance abuse, spanking, and domestic abuse. And ESPN is loving it. Because addressing these weighty topics makes them feel so very important. The last person who thought Rosie O’Donnell would ever return to “The View” was Rosie O’Donnell. In the spring of 2007, the talk show host opted not to renew her contract with the gabfest created by Barbara Walters, even though her controversial opinions gave the program a ratings boost. Then, shortly before her departure, she got caught in a spectacular fight on live TV with conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck that started over the Iraq War, but quickly turned personal — and went viral.

Adrian Peterson turned himself in early Saturday morning, FOX NFL Insider Jay Glazer reported , after authorities in Texas issued an arrest warrant for the star Minnesota Vikings running back on a charge of child abuse for using a branch to spank his son. White House aides posted the sloppy salute video on Instagram. The commander in chief offered the coffee-cup salute when he disembarked from his U.S. Marine Corps helicopter in New York, as he made his way to the United Nations General Assembly. “President Obama just landed in New York for #UNGA2014,” says the caption. President Barack Obama saluted a pair of United States Marines on Tuesday while holding what appeared to be a styrofoam cup in his saluting hand, a breach of military regulations that won´t win him fans among veterans and servicemen. Obama is known for drinking tea, not coffee, when he travels, especially before delivering speeches. His quasi-saluting gesture was an instant embarrassment for the White House, and not because his environmentally taboo drinkware clashed with the green-policy speech he was on his way to deliver at a UN Climate Summit. In other words, it was a typical Barack Obama whirligig. Even as American warplanes struck targets in Syria, even as regimes tottered in Jordan and Iraq and Yemen,

If there is one thing Chelsea Clinton is most worried about, it may be that her soon-to-be child will grow up in a world without elephants. Standing alongside her mother, Hillary Clinton, at the Clinton Global Initiative this afternoon, the very-pregnant former first daughter warned the plight of African elephants, killed for their ivory tusks, is an “existential” one, and said that if the current poaching rates continue, elephants could be few and far between within the next decade. If so, this means Chelsea Clinton’s favorite animal could be something her child would never know. “The child Marc and I

The petition to get Limbaugh off the air comes straight from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in the form of a fundraising/petition email.
