Philip Seymour Hoffman
didn’t want ‘trust fund kids’

New York Post, by Julia Marsh

Philip Seymour Hoffman’s last wish was that his kids wouldn’t grow up to be spoiled brats. The Oscar winner, who died of a drug overdose in February at age 46, repeatedly rejected his accountant’s suggestion that he set aside money for his son and two daughters, because he “did not want his children to be considered ‘trust fund’ kids,” court documents reveal. Attorney James Cahill Jr. — appointed by a court to protect the interests of Hoffman’s children, Cooper, 10, Tallulah, 7, and Willa, 5, in his estate proceeding — recently interviewed the actor’s accountant, David Friedman. Friedman “recalled conversations with [Hoffman] in

I think not leaving your children the money you spent your life earning is the final act of selfishness. Most men who have earned a lot of money spend most of their life working, not hanging out with the family. If he´s not working for his family, then who is he working for? I wish I had a lot to leave my kids. I don´t. But I spent my life raising them and having them near me is better than a huge bank account they won´t even get.

This dead drug addled has-been probably didn´t have much moola to set aside because Hoffman´s real trust fund was for his addiction to drugs. I, for one, am not interested in this over-hyped Hollyweird creep now or ever. And I won´t be seeing his newest piece of junk posthumous production opening soon in theaters (whatever its name - I don´t care).

Wow. Some of you are feeling pretty crabby this morning.

Some of the most successful, well adjusted, people I know were required by their parents to earn their own way. This money will eventually make it´s way down to the kids but much later in life than it would if Hoffman had trust funded it. They will appreciate it a lot more after they´d had to work for a living. Kudos to Hoffman for caring about his kids.

Most trust fund kids I know are at loose ends. They need to work and need to live for something other than drinking and partying. I hope Hoffman´s children don´t repeat his mistakes.

He left the money to his girlfriend, the children´s mother. My will directs my assets go to my husband, then the kids if he pre-decreases me. What´s unusual about this?

Obviously he trusted their mother to provide for them.

Mr. Hoffman had apparently thought about his children given the fact he specified as to where he prefer his son be raised/grow up. (and even in his choices, we disagree on the ´best´ locations.) The stipulations in his will should be carried out. Mr. Hoffman did not wish to see is children appear in maturity as so many other ´trust fund´ kids have in the past, he stated that fact And given the ages of the young Hoffman children they seem to be used as pawns of those who might be in control of the MONEY(or wish to be). As we all know, until one must work for it, none own it. Leaving the money to them would be nothing more than a hand out. Soooo we have on one hand outstanding citizens of moral value or the dead beat druggies on the street who have psssd away their fortune and are now homeless, shoeless, and looking for shelter. Follow his wishes He left a will. Abide by it.

CLAYTON, Missouri -- Protesters seeking the immediate arrest of the white Ferguson police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black 18-year-old loudly disrupted another government meeting Tuesday. The group renewed calls to remove the county prosecutor investigating the case and vowed political retaliation against an elected official tied to the prosecutor. The demand for officer Darren Wilson´s arrest and the recusal of the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney began with the final utterance of the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of the St. Louis County Council meeting. "For all," crowd members shouted, emphasizing the second word, as the pledge concluded with,

Federal authorities have charged an upstate New York man with trying to persuade two others in the United States to join the Islamic State, or ISIS, the terrorist group wreaking havoc in Iraq and Syria that U.S. officials have been outspoken about for weeks. Mufid Elfgeeh, 30, of Rochester, also plotted to kill U.S. soldiers who had returned from Iraq, federal prosecutors announced today. Last year, two FBI informants began building relationships with Elfgeeh, who -- not realizing they were working with the FBI -- encouraged them to go overseas and join terrorists in Syria, prosecutors allege in court documents. MONTREAL -- Quebec´s separatists are watching closely this week to see if the Scottish independence movement has learned from their failed attempts to break away from Canada. The Scottish National Party, which is leading the campaign for Scotland to vote yes in Thursday´s vote on independence, has been advised over the years by separatists in Quebec, a French-speaking province where two referendums on independence failed, though the last "Non" was narrow. There’s been some misinformation about exactly what Cruz said to the crowd and how it was received. (You can see for yourself here.) First Cruz offered a few strong remarks
