Diversity for Thee, but Not for Me
American Thinker, by Jim Yardley

Original Article

The Progressive mantra of “diversity is our strength” is one of the most honored catchphrases of the left. Like all slogans, it is a test to see if common folk are “gun-toting, Bible-clinging” Neanderthals or are they part of the enlightened, educated elites to whom the rest of us must surrender our individual beliefs, opinions, and thoughts. But as with all that the Progressives say, the meaning of the words being used is warped and misrepresented. For example, think about what Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz is saying in the following: Diversity on the bench is critical. As practitioners, you need judges who ´get it!´

Narcissism and narcissist behavior, explain the actions and beliefs of most authoritarians. Rather than a mental disease, it is a personality disorder. They actually Cannot see their own hypocrisy. Most don´t even know they are narcissists.

8% of the general population are narcissists or psychopaths. Double that, for those with such tendencies, but not hardcore.

Republicans shift away

Something is missing from this year’s midterm elections. Republicans are talking about ISIL and President Barack Obama and the Affordable Care Act and Harry Reid. But what they aren’t talking about? Slashing tax rates. Though tax cuts have been a mainstay of their campaigns since at least Ronald Reagan, though the top marginal tax rate is now the highest since the 1980s, though the party could win control of both chambers of Congress for the first time in almost a decade, Republicans are barely mentioning reducing tax rates with voters. “In a campaign, you talk about what people are interested in,” said Sen. Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz won the Value Voters Summit presidential straw poll on Saturday. The crowd burst onto applause on Saturday, as Family Research Council President Tony Perkins announced that Cruz won 25 percent of votes at the annual Washington conference. The victory is a big victory to the Republican firebrand and Tea Party icon, coming just a day after he drew standing ovations with a religious and emotional speech that blasted ObamaCare, congressional Democrats and called for Republicans to take over the White House in 2016. Cruz also won the straw poll in 2013. Coming in second was neurosurgeon Ben Carson, a

Months after staving off a trip to the boneyard, the embattled A-10 Thunderbolt II is headed to the Middle East where it could be used to fight Islamic militants in Iraq and Syria. An Indiana Air National Guard unit that flies the Cold War-era gunships, known as Warthogs, is planning to deploy about 300 airmen and an unknown number of its aircraft to the U.S. Central Command region early next month, says a Sept. 17 news release from the unit. The 122nd Fighter Wing, located at Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base, Ind., has 21 aircraft, though it’s uncertain how many will

Sarah Palin argued at the Values Voter Summit on Friday that liberals are “intolerant” and “scream racism” to avoid debate. “The lies that they tell about you,” she said addressing the crowd of social conservatives at the Values Voter Summit. “That disgusting charge of being racist. I’m speaking to the most slandered group in America! Join me in saying we wear your scorn with pride.” Walking on stage as a video of a roaring grizzly bear played, Palin received an uproarious response. Her address earned applause and cheers, particularly a “Coffee-gate” bit she did about the president’s unintentionally clumsy salute to soliders

SANAA - An al Qaeda splinter group launched a rocket attack on the U.S. embassy in Sanaa on Saturday, injuring several guards, to retaliate for what it said on social media was a U.S. drone strike in a northern province the day before. The rocket landed 200 meters from the heavily fortified embassy, which lies in a compound surrounded by high walls, hitting members of the Yemeni special police force who guard the site. At least two were injured, police said. The attacker fired the rocket from a M72 light anti-tank weapon from a car before speeding away, a police source told

With a clarion call to preserve religious liberty, Sen. Ted Cruz solidified his support from evangelical Republicans at the annual Value Voters Summit Friday in Washington, a connection that could pay off if he decides to join the hunt for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. “There are people in Washington who say that in order to win we have to abandon our values,” Cruz, of Texas, said during his 30-minute address. “Our values are who we are. Our values are why we are here.” While shifting demographics, including a projected boom in Latino voters, have led some Republican strategists to urge the

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s speech to hundreds of conservative activists on Friday amounted to a dare to other potential Republican candidates in 2016: Just try to get to the right of me. Just try it. Mr. Cruz called for abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, getting rid of the Common Core educational standards and repealing the Affordable Care Act. He defined himself as staunchly anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage and pro-Israel. “There are people in Washington who say Republicans to win have to abandon our values,” he said, as members of the audience shouted “No way!” and “It’s a lie!” While polls last year showed that

FBI officials are investigating a beheading at an Oklahoma food distribution center after co-workers said the suspect tried to convert them to Islam after his own recent conversion. The suspect, Alton Nolen, 30, was recently fired from Vaughan Foods in Moore prior to Thursday’s attack. Moore Police Department Sgt. Jeremy Lewis told KFOR that Nolen drove to the front of the business and struck a vehicle before walking inside. He then attacked Colleen Hufford, 54, stabbing her several times before severing her head. He also stabbed another woman, 43-year-old Traci Johnson, at the plant. Political pollsters have a tough job. They have to create formulas to determine if the person they are interviewing is likely to vote, and it is within this calculation that their reputations are made. Typically, those who are likely to vote in an off-year election are pretty set. They are the people who always vote in elections — with some motivated by specific issues. In a wave election, the number of those motivated by specific issues escalates, changing the electoral landscape as the candidates who are beneficiaries of this increased participation sweep to victory. The 2014 election is rapidly looking like something new

We’re being had. Again. For six years, President Obama has endeavored to will the country into accepting two pillars of his alternative national-security reality. First, he claims to have dealt decisively with the terrorist threat, rendering it a disparate series of ragtag jayvees. Second, he asserts that the threat is unrelated to Islam, which is innately peaceful, moderate, and opposed to the wanton “violent extremists” who purport to act in its name. Now, the president has been compelled to act against a jihad that has neither ended nor been “decimated.” The jihad, in fact, has inevitably intensified under his counterfactual

Although 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue may be the most famous address in the country, that doesn’t mean everyone remembers it. At the Value Voters Summit today in Washington, D.C, former Alaska Gov. When the U.S. military strikes, its leaders often choose colorful code names for the operation that sometimes stick in history, like Operation Overlord or Rolling Thunder or Desert Storm. Not this time. The U.S.-led air campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria doesn´t have a name. "I know of no plans at this point to name it," Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said Thursday. Since World War II, almost every U.S. military operation, large and small, has had a code name.
