Obama’s LGBT Executive Order
Threatens Religious Liberty,
Say Advocates

Daily Caller, by Kate Patrick

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 7/21/2014 11:27:28 PM

Unwilling to wait for Congress to pass the Employee Non-Discrimination Act, Obama signed an executive order Monday prohibiting organizations with federal contracts from discriminating against employees who identify themselves as gay, lesbian, or transgender. For religious freedom advocates, that could pose a major problem. Obama’s order does not provide an exemption for religious organizations, whereas the ENDA bill before Congress does. Carmen Fowler LaBerge — president of the Presbyterian Layman Committee – set aside her ordination in the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. after the General Assembly opened the door for gays and lesbians to be ordained as ministers in 2010.

Comments:
Another end run around Congress.

As I mentioned on an earlier thread on this subject, back in October, Pope Francis said:

that the Catholic Church “is not a shop, a humanitarian agency, an NGO” and that missionary efforts must primarily be concerned with bringing people the message of Jesus.

The Catholic Church can continue it´s work w/o government contracts. There are other secular organization who will provide the services, and there are all those compassionate atheists and humanists that we read about that I´m sure will be happy to fill in the gap.

Elsewhere, John Zhirmak writes:

So by cutting the spigot of federal money to church-based agencies, Obama has done us a paradoxical favor -- as Garibaldi unwittingly aided the Church by stealing the Papal States. (Would we really want them back?) However wicked are Obama’s manifest intentions, he is offering us a profound opportunity to rebuild our outreach to the needy along truly Christian lines. We won’t be rubbing shoulders with (and taking orders from) abortionists and euthanasia doctors, or competing for grants with staffers from Planned Parenthood who teach bondage classes to teenagers. We will have to act like our ancestors in the faith, who cobbled together their pennies to build the Catholic school system and cathedrals like St. Patrick’s.

Hate to say it but what is typical about this kind of criminal is that IF they do not get their way......they attack and then they STEAL Whatever they MUST HAVE. They are the types who impregnate women and then leave and go make another one preggy. Then they break into stores and steal whatever they want and they´ll kill whoever gets in their way. This is what is called a Criminal.

In atypical approach, grand jury
in Ferguson shooting receives

Washington Post, by Kimberly Kindy & Carol D. Leonnig    Original Article

The St. Louis County prosecutor’s office is taking an unusual approach with grand jury members who are weighing evidence against the police officer who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown last month, experts and county officials said. Instead of telling grand jury members what charges they believe police officer Darren Wilson should face, they are leaving it open-ended for now and involving the grand jury as co-investigators. The prosecutor’s office is also presenting evidence to the grand jury as soon as it receives it, rather than waiting until the St. Louis County Police Department and the FBI have completed their investigations.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Video of Ray Rice´s attack on his then-fiancee apparently was the last straw for the Baltimore Ravens, who announced Monday afternoon they´ve terminated the embattled running back´s contract. Rice, a three-time Pro Bowler and who helped Baltimore to a Super Bowl title in the 2012 season, was charged with third-degree aggravated assault following a Feb. 15 incident at a casino in Atlantic City, N.J., in which he alleged knocked out his then fiancé and now wife, Janay Palmer (now Janay Rice).Initially, Rice and Palmer both were charged with simple assault. The Atlantic County prosecutor´s office later dropped the charge against her.

Not to put too fine a point on it, yet knowing President Polling is going to deliver a magnanimous prime-time speech in a few days, the Syrian conversation with Chuck Todd needs, or, well, deserves a little e-x-p-a-n-s-i-o-n. Washington said on Sunday it had carried out air strikes against jihadists in Iraq´s Sunni Arab heartland, expanding its month-long air campaign and its involvement in the conflict. It was a significant escalation for President Barack Obama, who made his political career opposing the war in Iraq and pulled out US troops in 2011. Previous strikes since Obama launched the US air campaign on August 8 had been mainly in support of Kurdish forces in the north. US warplanes bombed Islamic State (IS) jihadists around a strategic dam on the Euphrates River in an area that the jihadists have repeatedly tried to capture

Operating on the vocal cords is trickier, because a tube that would normally help someone breathe during such a procedure couldn’t go across the vocal cords. To tolerate that kind of evaluation, Zivot said, someone would need to be in a deep unconscious state. The center has not released the specifics about the kind of procedure Rivers

A Los Angeles Times story suggests that Obama will rely on proxies to fight ISIS at three levels: on the ground, within the region and in the West.
