Obama Headlines Fundraiser for
Democracy Alliance Group at
DA Donor’s Home

Washington Free Beacon [DC], by Lachlan Markay

A major donor to a secretive club of wealthy Democratic financiers hosted President Barack Obama at her home last week for a fundraiser benefitting one of that club’s most politically active organizations. The event came as the president faced withering criticism for raising money as international crises proliferate, and just days ahead of a hearing of Democrat-backed legislation to force “dark money” political donors to disclose more information about their finances. House Majority PAC is one of the most nakedly political recipients of cash from the Democracy Alliance, a shadowy network of liberal millionaires and billionaires that doles out tens

Major donor, Donald Sussman is married to Chellie Pingree State Rep. from Maine and the owner of the Portland Press Herald, et. al. and is the most biased of all papers here in Maine. Right now, he is behind getting rid of our governor but keeps denying his contact within his newspaper! It´s the worst read paper in the state. That´s why I read what I need on this website and other good ones. It´s difficult to find anything positive about Republicans or local affiliates in that paper.

Years ago, a trustworthy friend told me a story about then-state senator Barack Obama and himself. Both were members of the East Bank Athletic Club -- a ritzy health club miles and a lot of money away from Barack Obama’s district and church -- a private club for the 1%. Pickup basketball games were quite common. Obama often liked to play basketball, a sport where his height would seemingly give him an edge. My friend is taller than Obama, however, and often blocked Obama’ shots-embarrassing him (Obama is not a good basketball player anyway, going 2 for 22 shooting free

In her memoir, "Hard Choices," former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton included a chapter on the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012. But she failed to specifically explain why Ambassador Chris Stevens was there that day. "U.S. ambassadors are not required to consult or seek approval from Washington, when traveling within their countries, and rarely do," she wrote. "Like all chiefs of mission, Chris made decisions about his movements based on the security assessments of his team on the ground, as well as his own judgment," she said. "After all, no one had

(Video) FERGUSON, Mo. — The Ferguson City Council, meeting for the first time since the Michael Brown shooting, struggled through its business agenda as a large crowd chanted and shouted, "Fired up, can´t talk no more." The overflow crowd of several hundred caused the meeting to be moved to the sanctuary of a nearby church, where residents filed through metal detectors of Greater Grace Church for entry. City leaders in the St. Louis suburb where Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old, was fatally shot by Darren Wilson, a white police officer, sought to repair the local government´s fractured relationship with its

Attorney General Eric Holder’s communications director is being accused of calling the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s Republican staff and asking for help spinning a story. The twist? The GOP staff alleges that Holder’s spokesman thought he was talking to the Democrats. Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) sent a letter to Holder on Monday about the incident, saying he was “extremely troubled” that the Justice Department may have been trying to coordinate with the minority staff on the release of documents to the committee regarding the Internal Revenue Service targeting certain political groups. Issa’s letter claims that Brian Fallon

CONCORD — Scott Brown captured the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate on Tuesday and will face Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, in the general election. “I’m nobody’s yes man, nobody’s rubber stamp,” Brown said in his victory speech. “Putting New Hampshire first will not be bumper-sticker rhetoric — it will be my mission every day.” The bell for the title bout rang even before the primary polls closed, when Shaheen unveiled an ad Tuesday night attacking Brown. Shaheen zeroed in on Brown as a Massachusetts transplant and accused him of siding with special interests. “I didn’t just move here,” Shaheen said

WASHINGTON- Republicans controlling the House unveiled a short-term spending bill Tuesday that would keep the government open into mid-December and provide $88 million to battle the Ebola outbreak. The spending measure will also extend the authority of the Export-Import Bank to continue helping foreign buyers purchase U.S. exports until June 30, The upcoming Nov. 1 expiration of the bank´s authority has caused divisions between main street Republicans eager to help American businesses and conservatives who consider it government interference in the marketplace. GOP leaders have crafted the spending package to avoid a repeat of last year´s politically damaging partial government

President Obama in a primetime speech Wednesday night will lay out “the next offensive phase” in the U.S. conflict with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, the White House said Tuesday. But the speech will not provide details about the specific military tactics the U.S. plans to use, how much it will cost or how long it will last. The president’s speech at 9 p.m., a high-volume viewing time, means that the president believes that fighting Islamic State is a “high national security priority," White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters Tuesday.

The investigation was halted in May by U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Randa, who ruled in favor of Wisconsin Club for Growth, which filed a federal lawsuit in an attempt to halt an investigation launched in 2012 by Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm, a Democrat. The conservative organization in February accused investigators of sidelining them from political activities, violating their rights to free

The Obama administration will make a decision on executive action to prevent corporations from leaving the country in the "very near future," Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said Monday morning. Speaking at an event on business taxes at the Urban Institute in Washington, Lew placed the responsibility on Congress to address so-called tax inversions, but said that the administration was prepared to step in if lawmakers don´t move quickly enough. Inversions are tax maneuvers in which corporations buy firms in low-tax countries in order to place their headquarters in that country. Such deals have grown in number in recent months, with
