Obama dragged down by chaos at
home and abroad, not by the economy

Washington Examiner [DC], by Michael Barone

Original Article

“Why do you think President Obama´s job rating is falling, even though the economy is recovering?” the interviewer asked. It´s a fair question, even though the economy declined 2.9 percent in the first quarter, even though most jobs created in June were part-time, even though labor force participation remains low. The fact is that the economy is growing, however slowly, jobs are being created and the unemployment rate is heading down toward what economists consider full employment. And still the president´s job rating languishes. What´s wrong with the question is an assumption embedded within it, that what voters seek most

Who said the economy is recovering? IS manufacturing back? Are businesses recovering and back? I seem to see them closing! Are all those out of work now working? What kind of BS is this that the economy is recovering? So...I figure they figure that IF they lie often enough the imbeciles in this nation will fall for it? I guess they did twice when they voted for him.

Michael come on the unemployment rate is going down because each month the labor participation rate keeps getting reduced! We´re not headed for full employment but rather zero employment. If the Feds keeping lowering the participation rate in theory you could have zero working and zero unemployment. How does that make any sense? The U6 unemployment rate is greater than 14%! Just another misleading article from someone who should know better,

Seven trillion dollars of debt has been added in the last five years. And..the proceeds of that debt essentially wasted. Ten million Americans who were working when this ´administration´ took over are not doing so today. The world´s best health care system is on the road to ruin. Racial animosities and divisiveness in society is at an all time high. The Constitution of the Founding Fathers lies in tatters. But..the nation is recovering. People like Barone should be more careful and factual in the tone they set.

The costs for food and gas are going up. Cleverly, the politicians have defined those two items out of the calculation for inflation. What they don´t understand is that they can´t define them out of how much of our income is left at the end of the month.

Chaos abroad usually ends up hitting close to home too. The terrorist attacks through the ´90s yielded Sept 11, 2001. Now Iraq, Syria, and soon-to-follow Afghanistan will be large terrorist training camps. All the while, Obama tries to ´act cool´.

They´ve learned how to hide a depression. Pump money into the financial sector to keep the stock market flying and put everybody without a job on the dole so nobody is going hungry and there are no soup lines. Don´t count those people as out of work, count them as out of the work force so the unemployment statistics don´t look so bad. But it´s an illusion that generates massive amounts of debt. It cannot continue forever. At some point you have to quit spending and unleash the business sector to create wealth or the dollar will crash and be rejected as the world´s reserve currency. Then the US will not be able to borrow to maintain the illusion. The illusion will go poof and everyone will see we are Cuba´s poorer northern neighbor.

I said this before and I say it again. They will cook the books and twist the results until the "unemployment" figure is 3% before the November elections. But the lofos will also have the reality of going to the grocery store and see the prices going up and up. Prices for many groceries have gone up 25%.

Members of Congress and the White House anticipated a peace dividend by winding down America´s foreign wars, closing bases and shedding tens of thousands of troops. But President Obama´s new, open-ended strategy to confront Islamic State fighters in Iraq and Syria is likely to eat into some of the nearly $500 billion in Pentagon spending cuts that were planned over the next decade. The first five weeks of U.S. airstrikes in northern Iraq has cost $262.5 million, according to the Pentagon, and Obama personally lobbied key members of Congress in recent days to appropriate $500 million to help train and arm Syrian

The unelected and unaccountable sages at the World Health Organization (WHO) can’t seem to help themselves or resist the temptation to try to regulate the behavior of everyone on the planet. This is a shame, really, because a group like that could actually do some good if they stuck to trying to get basic supplies and medical care to people in remote, poverty stricken countries. But rather than devoting themselves to such laudable goals, they’re once again pushing to get every government on the planet to jack up sin taxes on tobacco.(This is something they’ve tried before, as I wrote

CHICAGO/MILWAUKEE — A federal appeals court has reinstated Wisconsin’s voter photo identification law. U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman struck the law down as unconstitutional in April, saying it unfairly burdens poor and minority voters who may lack such identification. Republican Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen asked the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago to overturn that ruling. The 7th Circuit issued a ruling late Friday afternoon lifting Aldeman’s stay and allowing the law to go into effect before the November elections. State attorneys asked a three-judge 7th Circuit panel during oral arguments on Friday to immediately reinstate the law. Van Hollen’s appeal remains

Surely however, it further degraded our security by further engaging us in the combination of fantasy and half measures that has earned America a reputation for un-seriousness and opened hunting season on Americans everywhere. Obama degrades America by dwelling in a politically convenient fantasy world. Louisville, Ky. – Solid ground isn´t always a certainty. Sinkholes can lurk anywhere, beneath suburban homes, city streets or even football stadiums and museums. It´s basic geology: Sinkholes open when soil collapses into large holes, caused by flowing water in underground limestone. Their toll can be dramatic, swallowing homes, trees or anything else on the collapsing ground — even prized Corvettes. The Southeastern U.S. is prime territory for the geological phenomena — a potentially costly game of subterranean roulette. In Tennessee, a sinkhole opened during renovations on the football stadium at Austin Peay State University.

Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. Eisenhower simply explained what had been done, and why.

Voter turnout during last month´s primary races was a little too good in some counties, Arizona elections officials said Friday. Some precincts in northern Arizona tallied more ballots cast than there are registered voters, the Arizona Capitol Times reported. According to officials, errors made by poll workers and elections officials in Apache and Navajo counties led to the miscalculations. Initial reports from some precincts showed a turnout of anywhere from 200 to 400 percent. In Apache County, the Puerco West precinct reportedly had 100 votes cast, but only 23 voters are registered there. The voter turnout added up to 434
