Obama Encounters an Apex of Anger
Canada Free Press, by Alan Caruba    Original Article

Barack Obama has managed to do something one would hardly imagine a President could achieve by the midpoint of his second term. He has managed to anger most segments of the American populace, including those to the far Left who constitute a significant part of his base. It has taken time for most people to reach this point. Americans are amazingly patient with their presidents, but Obama has pushed them beyond scandal fatigue. The “final straw” appears to be the illegal alien invasion masterminded by Obama. What they are seeing and hearing is not what they were sold; a charming man of

The slow American withdrawal from world affairs has been apparent for a long time, but has never been so glaringly evident as this week in the Middle East. Hamas is at war with Israel, the brutal struggle in Syria frustrates the world, the terrorists of ISIS are making serious progress in Iraq — and now another attempt to deprive Iran of nuclear weapons has, so far, been thwarted. The United States has a position of sorts in each of these arenas, but it’s not powerful in any of them. American influence has faded. The world’s governments no longer worry as much as they

It’s 9 AM late July and already the day is shot to hell. The temperature is over 80 and the humidity would wilt a Puritan’s collar. You’re supposed to be taking Migra, your Mexican Water Spaniel, on a 400–hundred-mile car trip. The dog’s 14-years-old if he’s a day, and who knows if he’ll live long enough to be reunited with the rest of your family. Plus, you can’t just motor out the driveway because that’s not a good idea where you live. It’s one of those ‘transitional neighborhoods’ that you thought was transitioning into a community where people worry about their carbon

Kerry Angrily Spars With Fox’s Chris

After months of shutting Fox News out of his Sunday show appearances, a downed airliner in Ukraine and an ongoing Israeli invasion of Gaza compelled Secretary of State John Kerry to finally appear on “Fox News Sunday” this weekend. But that didn’t mean he had to play nice. A frustrated Kerry relentlessly castigated Fox’s Chris Wallace for continuing to ask questions while the Secretary of State was in the middle of answering. “You like to ask questions, but you don’t like to get answers!” he charged petulantly, before refusing to address any more questions from Wallace until he had finished his

On a busy street in central Moscow, a well-dressed man stands yelling at the crowd: "Don´t you understand? There will be a war!" All around him, people walk by, wholly uninterested. It´s a hot summer´s day, they´re enjoying the sun. Save for a couple of tourists taking pictures, no-one pays much attention at all. The friend of a friend who saw this, posted the news on Facebook. Someone responded with a cartoon of Homer Simpson holding a sign that says "The End is Near". There are people here who are genuinely concerned about the direction Russia is heading under Vladimir Putin, but they are very

Sarah Palin On Border Crisis: ´What

The Washington Post´s reporting brought down Richard Nixon. On Sunday, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin wondered if it could do the same to President Barack Obama regarding his lawlessness on illegal immigration. Palin, who called for Obama to be impeached on the pages of Breitbart News, demanded in a Facebook post that Congress get answers to two questions: "What did the President know and when did he know it?" Palin mentioned that the Washington Post had a blockbuster piece on Saturday about how “top officials at the White House and the State Department had repeatedly been warned of the potential for a

MCALLEN, Texas—Texas media outlets are reporting Texas Governor Rick Perry is preparing to deploy the Texas National Guard to portions of the Texas/Mexico border. State Senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa (D-McAllen) confirmed the pending announcement of Perry’s decision to deploy 1,000 soldiers from the Texas National Guard to the border. The goal of the guard deployment is to bolster the work of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) State Troopers, according to Jennifer Saenz, a spokesperson for Sen. Hinojosa. "The senator understands that Perry wants this troop build-up, but is not sure what kind of federal approval he needs for it. He

More than 30 years ago, Congress wisely passed the Pregnancy Discrimination Act. Yet today, many pregnant women still experience unfair and unnecessary challenges on the job. Nondiscrimination has been the law of the land for over three decades, yet, in some workplaces, the standard for treatment of pregnant women has remained in the dark ages. Some are fired or demoted, with no hesitation, when a modest accommodation would allow them to continue to work and support their families. The stories are heart-wrenching and preventable. There´s the pregnant woman who was terminated when, in violation of company policy, she started carrying a water

The West is to blame for creating

RUSSIAN president Vladimir Putin has the blood of Australians on his hands, and is now hiding the evidence of his crimes. But blame the West, too, for its fatal weakness. In fact, the Abbott Government hopes to use the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines MH17 to persuade the West to muscle up at last to Russia. It is Russia — under Putin’s policy of securing his borders — which helped pro-Russian militias seize parts of eastern Ukraine, making them near lawless. It is Putin’s Russia which supplied those thugs with arms, almost certainly including the BUK SA-11 missile launcher suspected of shooting down MH17,

President Barack Obama stepped up his efforts Sunday to limit Israel’s gradual destruction of Hamas’ tunnel network in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza, which now conceals many of the rockets and jihadi units that attack Israelis. In a morning call to Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Obama “reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself [but] also raised serious concern about the growing number of casualties, including increasing Palestinian civilian deaths in Gaza and the loss of Israeli soldiers,” said a 2.00 p.m. statement from the White House. Israel’s government did not officially respond to Obama’s statement, which came after Israel ground units moved

Ronald Reagan won two presidential elections by fighting for the "Forgotten Man," and Sarah Palin said Republicans will only win presidential elections in the future if the party sticks up for the "little guy" and the "Forgotten Man" of all races and backgrounds. Building upon the themes she has always fought for and distilled in a landmark speech in Indianola, Iowa in 2011 in which she denounced the bipartisan permanent political class and their brand of crony capitalism that extracts wealth from American workers, Palin told attendees at the Western Conservative Summit in Colorado on Saturday to think about what Sam

It is at times like these, when he is pushed kicking and screaming into the crucible, that Obama’s callowness shows. For his supporters, that jejune, jocular air has been a plus for almost six years. For the rest of us, it has served as a liability and an irritation. Yesterday, it became a wholesale embarrassment. On the perpetual-campaign trail, the pattern is familiar. Trotting up to the podium, the president fist-bumps the audience’s stragglers and smiles a toothy and humble grin at those who catch his eye. While speaking, he responds to obsequy with obsequy — “I love you too!” he

When White House press secretary Josh Earnest said this week that President Barack Obama had "substantially improved the tranquillity of the global community," many observers reacted with disbelief. Now that the U.S.-Russia relationship has broken down, Moscow could throw a wrench into the teetering nuclear negotiations with Iran. The escalating tensions between Washington and Moscow, brought to fever by the MH17 airliner disaster, are finally to the point where they threaten to spoil the number one item on President Obama’s foreign policy agenda: the nuclear talks with Iran. The man doing the threatening is Russian President Vladimir Putin.Earlier this week, Putin promised to retaliate against the United States for new sanctions targeting his friends and business associates, as well as large Russian defense, energy, and financial firms. (Video) Friday First Lady Michelle Obama hosted the first "Kids State Dinner” in the East Room of the White House, which treated the 54 children who won a nationwide healthy meal recipe contest sponsored by the food magazine Epicurious and the Education and Agriculture departments to a state dinner. The first lady told the kid chefs from each state, the District of Columbia, and three U.S. territories, "I need you guys to make your voices heard," because, she explained, "folks in Congress [are] trying to undo some of the progress that we’ve made to get healthier food into our schools."

At a political event in Wilmington, Delaware, on Thursday, President Obama devoted only 40 seconds to the shooting down of the Malaysian airline, his first statement to the world following the news. His emotionless reference to the attack as ‘a terrible tragedy’ seemed disconnected from the horrific moment, particularly as he immediately reverted to script to praise his administration and criticise Republicans. It was a far cry from President Reagan’s 1983 fierce denunciation of the Soviet shooting down of a Korean airliner as a ‘crime against humanity’. But it only confirmed the chaos into which US foreign policy has descended since the summer

Gay marriage laws and court rulings against sexual-orientation discrimination are all signs that it’s time for the federal government to change its blood-donor policy for gay and bisexual men, authors said in a commentary released Saturday. The lifetime ban for blood donation by men who have sex with men (MSM) “may be perpetuating outdated homophobic perceptions,” wrote Dr. Eli Y. Adashi of Brown University and scholars I. Glenn Cohen and Jeremy Feigenbaum, both of Harvard Law School, in the July 23/30 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association. “Even though well intentioned and guided by a need to

LOS ANGELES — Actor James Garner, whose whimsical style in the 1950s TV Western “Maverick” led to a stellar career in TV and films such as “The Rockford Files” and his Oscar-nominated “Murphy’s Romance,” has died, police said. He was 86. He was found dead of natural causes at his home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles Saturday evening, Los Angeles police officer Alonzo Iniquez said early Sunday. Police responded to a call around 8 p.m. PDT and confirmed Garner’s identity from family members, Iniquez told The Associated Press. There was no immediate word on a more specific cause of death. Garner had suffered a stroke in May 2008, just weeks after his 80th birthday.
