Sunday Morning Shows Ignore Report
Showing Obama Admin. ‘Warned

Newsbusters, by Jeffrey Meyer

The front-page of the Washington Post on Sunday, July 20 had a damning headline accusing the Obama administration of “being warned of brewing border crisis” but only Fox and Friends Sunday covered the report. NBC’s Today, CBS Sunday Morning, and ABC’s Good Morning America, failed to cover how in a 2013 report prepared for the Obama administration “the team from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) raised alarms about the federal government’s capacity to manage a situation that was expected to grow worse.” From the Washington Post: The researchers’ observations were among the warning signs conveyed to the

The Sunday news shows certainly have their guests and topics planned ahead and this was in this morning´s paper. No time to even verify the facts in the article. I´m not even sure some of the Sunday shows do not tape ahead late Saturday.

Fox and Friends? Taking a word said on that show as being true or verified is a big mistake. I watched this morning and they weren´t even capable of conducting a lucid interview with a 5 year old and his father who wrestle alligators. The female host was so unprepared she thought they were from FL and one of the male hosts had to tell her they were from Louisiana. The boy and Dad were barely capable of saying yes or no. And people rely on F&F for real news?

It would be streets better is all those Sunday Show people went to church instead and took some time to ponder The Word and to ask for forgiveness.

Didn´t Dubya´s admin warn congressional regulators (Barny Frank, most notably) for years about the growing subprime mortgage problem and the impending collapse of FMC and FMA? But because none of the ´progressive´ press reported it, the Left can still blame Bush and the GOP for keeping the problem secret, and even for causing it in the first place.

Congressional Gold Medals

Congressional leaders came together on Wednesday, the day before the 13th anniversary of Sept. 11, to hand out three Congressional Gold Medals to those who died in the terrorist attacks. The medals were provided to the Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania, the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York, and the Pentagon Memorial in Virginia. "All that we Americans are and all that we ever will be — we owe it to the fallen heroes of 9/11," said Speaker of the House John Boehner. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid addressed the crowd on Capitol Hill, "Even in

The administration official calling House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa’s (R-Calif.) office last week had an odd request. Could the Justice Department get some help leaking information about the IRS’s scrutiny of conservative groups? asked Brian Fallon, a top spokesman for Attorney General Eric Holder. Apparently thinking he had reached the office of Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings (Md.), Fallon said the department wanted congressional staffers to get documents to selected reporters so that officials could comment on them “before the majority” did. After Issa spokesman Frederick Hill replied that Oversight Committee staffers would have to examine those documents first, the

Former White House spokesman Robert Gibbs on Wednesday said that, in light of recent terrorist threats, most Americans no longer distinguish between the president who launched a war against terrorism in Iraq and the successor who campaigned to end it. "I don´t think that the American people are still fighting the Bush-Cheney versus Barack Obama on Iraq," Gibbs said on MSNBC. "I think what they want to see is something moving forward to deal with what they believe is a serious threat, not just in Iraq, but throughout the Middle East," he adding, talking about the Islamic State in Iraq

Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska) listed the address of his Washington, D.C., home, rather than his Anchorage home on Federal Election Commission filings — a choice that could muddle attacks Begich has made on whether his opponent has close enough ties to Alaska. Begich listed his Capitol Hill address for reimbursements on a number of publicly available FEC forms over the past year. This isn´t the only time Begich has opted to use his D.C. address over his one in Anchorage — he also lists his D.C. address as the mailing address on Anchorage municipal property records. A leading campaign finance reformer admitted defeat on Wednesday after spending more than $1.6 million on a Senate candidate who garnered less than a quarter of the primary vote. Jim Rubens, a Republican Senate candidate in New Hampshire, received just 23 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s primary, losing to former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown, who will challenge Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D.) in November. Rubens’ poor showing was a black eye for Harvard University professor Larry Lessig and his Super PAC, called Mayday. The group backed Rubens with more than $1.6 million in independent expenditures. “We lost. Badly,” Lessig said

As of September 10, 2014, it´s been 300 days since ABC´s Nightline covered ObamaCare. In the 43 weeks since November 14, 2013, the show has avoided problems with the health care law and instead focused on extremely superficial topics, such as nude reality shows and the royal baby. When the Associated Press reported, "More people newly insured by Medicaid under ObamaCare are seeking treatment in hospital emergency rooms," the hosts of Nightline didn´t notice. Two new reports found that ObamaCare has not cut the rate of uninsured children. Again, Nightline was silent. What were the hosts covering instead? See a

Years ago, a trustworthy friend told me a story about then-state senator Barack Obama and himself. Both were members of the East Bank Athletic Club -- a ritzy health club miles and a lot of money away from Barack Obama’s district and church -- a private club for the 1%. Pickup basketball games were quite common. Obama often liked to play basketball, a sport where his height would seemingly give him an edge. My friend is taller than Obama, however, and often blocked Obama’ shots-embarrassing him (Obama is not a good basketball player anyway, going 2 for 22 shooting free

In her memoir, "Hard Choices," former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton included a chapter on the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012. But she failed to specifically explain why Ambassador Chris Stevens was there that day. "U.S. ambassadors are not required to consult or seek approval from Washington, when traveling within their countries, and rarely do," she wrote. "Like all chiefs of mission, Chris made decisions about his movements based on the security assessments of his team on the ground, as well as his own judgment," she said. "After all, no one had

What concerned Kelly most in the first part of the interview was that “little Eichmanns” comment, the argument being that Eichmann played a role in horrible atrocities even though he didn’t directly carry out the Final Solution, which he views as similar to the financial

Advocates of UBI see it as a blunter, more effective means of reducing poverty and shrinking the inequality gap.
