Glenn Beck Rips Breitbart,
FOX News Border Coverage

Breitbart TV, by Ian Hanchett

Talk radio host Glenn Beck criticized Fox News and Breitbart for their reporting of his plan to visit the border to bring food, soccer balls, and teddy bears to illegal immigrants on the southern border. Beck complained about a lack of coverage of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) joining his. “Nobody´s reading [The Blaze´s coverage of Ted Cruz going to border]. Our viewers and our readers are not even reading it. That should be the number-one retweeted story. If you like Ted Cruz [you should promote this story.] Where´s Breitbart on that story? Where´s Fox News on that story?” Beck stated. He added

Beck said: “This is about mercy not just for the people coming across the border. This about mercy to our own Americans.”

´Mercy´ would be convincing those parents in Central America to NOT send their children off to America on the death trains that are loaded with "the MS-13 gang members, the rapists and the killers."

´Mercy´ for Americans would be to halt the flood of all these illegals (two-thirds of illegal immigrant children approved for asylum already).

Beck is being ruled by his emotions and not his head.

The children are being used as human shields by their own parents and those who want to easy future access to America. Beck has been hoodwinked and his actions will enable and encourage the instigators of this nightmare to continue. He should be setting up his casserole stands *in the childrens´ home countries*, providing his warm fuzzies as an incentive for them to not BEGIN their unlawful and horrific journeys.

Glen get over your self. No one is reading the story because it´s trivial. No one cares that you´re giving soccer balls or teddy bears to illegals. We all know they will be taken care of better than our own citizens. Now Glen if you were making a effort to send these so called "children" back to their parents quickly then that might be a story worth reading.

I quit listening to Glen Beck well before he left Fox. His fame went to his head, it´s all about money and delusions of grandeur for him, now. This is just insane. Most of these *children* are older than 16....many have gang involvement. The insinuation that there are so many small children among them is mostly false. I can´t believe he doesn´t realize this...maybe he does, but is trying to push his own, twisted agenda. UGH.

What isn´t made obvious here is that Beck limited coverage of his event to his own The Blaze. I assume he thought his Blaze would get lots of traffic. But, it didn´t, and now he´s raising Cain to grab the publicity that hasn´t already happened by complaining that no one is reading his Blaze.

Demented in so many ways. Withdraw, Senator Cruz. There´s nothing to be gained by showing up with this crazy person.

Its like if a neighbor wants to organize a big block party. We all pitch in and help and its fun. If he wants to organize one every week it becomes too much and participation drops off markedly. Thats where Glenn is now. Too much too often.

Yesterday, I was curious and visited The Blaze, and even though they didn´t feature an article about Ted Cruz accompanying Beck to the border, the posters were making their voices known and it wasn´t positive for either Beck or Cruz. Furthermore, his whining sounds very much like Obama right now, blaming others for their lack of coverage of his "mission of mercy."

I must say, even though Beck is one card short of a full deck, he seems to be a good businessman. Everything he does has a business angle, and to his credit, he´s had some success. Sometimes I´ve wondered if he´s a televangelist pretending to be radio jock / publisher. As a mormon, helping the homeless is something they do naturally. It´s part of what they do. However unlike Mitt Romney, where Beck went wrong was to advertise it. This type of activity shouldn´t be announced or exploited for gain. It backfired and he´s losing members and donations. Yep, Beck may have jumped the shark.

Beck has always been a bit "off". Never liked him but he´s gone from being a weepy nut to a problem for the GOP. Cruz and others need to stay away, far away from him.

And if Beck is concerned about the children of Central America, he should take his checkbook and head south. Set up a charity down there, pass out soccer balls in their home country and encourage them to stay there.

Speaking of Jesus:

verb \k?-´mi-z?-?rat\:

to express sadness or sympathy for someone who has experienced something unpleasant

I would remind everyone that it was Jesus who upset the ´establishment´ by visiting the sick and infirm (even curing them!), hanging around with sinners and tax collectors, and talking about love and forgiveness.

I think Beck´s heart is in the right place, but he has lost his way. Conservative-type people usually get too judgmental and it is important to remember that one´s actions are one´s own, period.

Beck is an avid showman & an admittedly flawed guy, but if only Fox & BBTV/bigs are giving a smidge of coverage to his Mercy Tour, and nothing from state sponsored media, why are the heads of Big Media ignoring the ´fact´ that majority of ´unaccompanied minors´ are working age men? I think tv lobbyists donate to campaigns too. Both left and right powers-that-be are still angling for amnesty reform and giving Beck or Cruz any positive airtime nicks the strength of their fragile balloon being floated to save the ´refugees´ from their plight.

There is the conservative, populist Beck and there is the preachy Mormon Beck. While there is considerable overlap (picture a Venn diagram), this issue separates the two. His Mormon side is front and center right now.

As to Cruz joining in the visit to the border, we must wait and see how that plays out and what message it may send. Too much is unknown at this point.

Regardless, this is another example of the dominance of (illegal) immigration as an issue.

That being said, a few red flags over the years have troubled me: the tiff with Breitbart, the deliberate mischaracterization of Mr. Bundy´s statement about black slaves and now this. My eyes are wide open now.

President Obama largely blamed the United States’ intelligence community in an interview broadcast Sunday for giving an incorrect assessment of the capabilities of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). “Our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that, I think, they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” Obama said on CBS’s ""60 Minutes." The rationalizations for Obama’s failures are already beginning, and Tom Friedman employs the laziest of all strategies, tearing down a great man to make a small man look bigger. President Obama said the shooting death of a black teen by a white police officer last month in Ferguson, Missouri, exposed the racial divide in the American justice system that “stains the heart of black children.” Speaking at the annual Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner in Washington on Saturday night, Mr. Obama said the death of Michael Brown “awakened our nation” to a reality that black citizens already understood. “In too many communities around the country, a gulf of mistrust exists between local residents and law enforcement,” Mr. Obama said. “Too many young men of color feel targeted by law

Brown´s mother, Lesley McSpadden, called for Chief Tom Jackson to be fired, and his father, Michael Brown Sr., said rather than an apology, they would rather see Officer Darren Wilson arrested for the death of their son on Aug. 9. "An apology would be when Darren Wilson has handcuffs, processed and charged with murder," Brown Sr. said. The young man, who was black,

The Justice Department is expected to ban profiling by federal law enforcement. Counter-terror investigators would be barred from undercover operations in mosques or other religious institutions unless there is reason to believe criminal activity is going on there, under a new policy expected within weeks. The new rules would ban profiling based on religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation and includes no exemption for national security investigations, the Los Angeles Times reports. A Canadian member of the loathed Islamic State claimed the group is plotting an attack on New York City — and will one day fly its flag over the White House. Days before Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi warned of terrorist plots on subways in New York City and Paris, a video emerged showing an ISIS shill named Farah Shirdon widening the scope of the threat. “God willing, we will make some attacks in New York soon,” he said in a video interview with Vice News last week. “A lot of brothers are mobilizing there right now.” He vowed that U.S.-based fighters are “mobilizing for a brilliant attack.”

Political pollsters have a tough job. They have to create formulas to determine if the person they are interviewing is likely to vote, and it is within this calculation that their reputations are made. Typically, those who are likely to vote in an off-year election are pretty set. They are the people who always vote in elections — with some motivated by specific issues. In a wave election, the number of those motivated by specific issues escalates, changing the electoral landscape as the candidates who are beneficiaries of this increased participation sweep to victory. The 2014 election is rapidly looking like something new
