Darling of the far left Sen. Elizabeth Warren released her 11 commandments of progressivism this week during her stop at the Netroots Nation annual conference. The National Journal reported: - “We believe that Wall Street needs stronger rules and tougher enforcement, and we’re willing to fight for it.” - “We believe in science, and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this Earth.” - “We believe that the Internet shouldn’t be rigged to benefit big corporations, and that means real net neutrality.” - “We believe that no one should work full-time and still live in poverty, and that means raising the minimum wage.” -

Hillary Clinton for president:

Anyone who believes that Hillary Clinton will not run for President in 2016 should examine her recently-published book, Hard Choices, which in places reads like a campaign manifesto. The 600 pages of text offer much more, but on myriad domestic and international issues readers can readily predict her positions as president, even beyond what she has already indicated as first lady, senator from New York, and Barack Obama’s first secretary of state. With the escalating violence in Israel and Gaza, for example, her chapter on the Middle East indicates in detail how she dealt with key regional leaders in earlier crises and

In a fiery speech at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Saturday, U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) said he was confident after meeting with President Obama last week that the president will move forward in the coming months with an executive order that would grant legal status to millions of immigrants in the country illegally, possibly including the parents of American-born children. Gutierrez, speaking on the first day of the annual conference of the National Council of La Raza, also took aim at Republicans for failing to pass immigration reform legislation and warned that there would be a political price

There’s probably never been a time when humanity wasn’t collectively in a torment and uproar about what its young folk were up to. (Gur to Urp, 10,000 B.C.: “Can you believe how short the girls are wearing their bearskins these days?”) But in contrast with our image of decadent, self-centered, pleasure-craving youth, in many ways today’s youngsters are throwbacks — spurning drugs, crime and disorder, being sexually responsible and making sound choices about education. They might be the least disaffected, least rebellious kids since the Kennedy years. And that might have surprising political implications down the road. A July 12 Economist piece

Saturday in Denver at the Western Conservative Summit former Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) slammed Attorney General Eric Holder for his appearance on ABC´s "This Week" last Sunday when he accused Obama administration detractors of being motivated by race. Palin slammed Holder, saying, "I don´t need lectures from Eric Holder." Taunting him, she continued, "Not many cabinet members in U.S. history have been held in contempt of Congress." The Tea Party firebrand urged, "instead of shamelessly playing that race card," he should look at the protests in black and latino communities about the resources going to the illegal immigrant children flooding across the

Saturday in Denver at the Western Conservative Summit, former Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) made the argument for impeaching President Barack Obama, saying, "No serious person can deny President Obama has violated the constitution." Listing the president´s high crimes and misdemeanors as his illegal changes to ObamaCare, the IRS targeting of conservatives, the DOJ targeting reporters, and the VA killing veterans, Palin said Obama is "radically changing the balance of power." She ended by declaring, "We had a revolution in 1776 because we don´t do kings."

Not long ago I was out drinking with a group of friends and we started playing the If-You-Had-To game. The idea is to present players with two people they would never want to sleep with — and then make them choose which they’d sleep with. Here are some of the fiendish alternatives I had to face: Imelda Marcos or Wallace Simpson? Ayn Rand or Yoko Ono? Gertrude Stein or Virginia Woolf? Then one joker said: Theresa May or Jemima Khan? Everyone laughed at this no-contest choice. Everyone except me. How could I tell them the ugly truth: I’d prefer a night

McDaniel made the comment Friday while lambasting his primary runoff loss against Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) on June 24, which he blamed on "race-baiting" by Cochran´s allies. "They hired Democratic operatives to go out into Democratic communities and call me a racist," said McDaniel, who still has not conceded in the race. "That´s despicable," he went on. The shooting down of Malaysia Airlines flight 17 has confronted Vladimir Putin with a dilemma he had sought to avoid: to continue to support the separatist insurgency in Ukraine in the face of a storm of international outrage, or cut the rebels off and allow them to be defeated by the government in Kiev. Until the plane was hit by an anti-aircraft missile on Thursday, killing nearly 300 people, the Russian president had tried to hedge his bets according to circumstances on the battlefield and western pressure. He moved troops and tanks away from the border after the Ukrainian presidential elections

Unbridled horses tend to think they are wild. For that reason, fences were made. Politicians unbounded by law -- or who think themselves unbounded by law -- tend toward running wild, toward the commission of deeper and wider intrusions on personal liberty. As Americans, we are now living thorough a consequential moment. Like it or not, we are witness to accelerating executive abuse. Lack of legal fencing, or an unwillingness to use legal fencing that exists, leads inexorably to runaway behavior. Uncorrected and deterred, small breaches of accountability accelerate. We all know this. We know this of our everyday lives, even

It is at times like these, when he is pushed kicking and screaming into the crucible, that Obama’s callowness shows. For his supporters, that jejune, jocular air has been a plus for almost six years. For the rest of us, it has served as a liability and an irritation. Yesterday, it became a wholesale embarrassment. On the perpetual-campaign trail, the pattern is familiar. Trotting up to the podium, the president fist-bumps the audience’s stragglers and smiles a toothy and humble grin at those who catch his eye. While speaking, he responds to obsequy with obsequy — “I love you too!” he

The man doing the threatening is Russian President Vladimir Putin.Earlier this week, Putin promised to retaliate against the United States for new sanctions targeting his friends and business associates, as well as large Russian defense, energy, and financial firms. Political pundits are divided about the merits of House Speaker John Boehner´s lawsuit against President Obama´s employer mandate. But should the chief executive be worried that two constitutional law experts — one a conservative, the other a liberal who voted for Obama — not only think the suit has merit but will likely succeed? The two backing Boehner and two constitutional law experts who oppose the suit testified Wednesday before the House Rules Committee. The uber presidency George Washington University Law Prof. Jonathan Turley voted for Obama but in recent months has become perhaps the most visible critic of what he views as a

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) indicated today that if President Barack Obama takes actions that exceed his constitutional authority, the House of Representatives has no plans to use its own constitutional authority to withhold funding from those actions. At his weekly press briefing, CNSNews.com asked Boehner: “You’ve said you disagree with calls to impeach the president over abuse of power via executive actions. But under the Constitution the House actually has the power of the purse. So, if the President takes actions that exceed his Constitutional authority, will you withhold funding for those actions in the next must-pass

(Video) The Washington Free Beacon has put together a greatest hits compilation of the Democrats’ border security quotes. Why would the Democrats continuously insist that the border is secure? Perhaps because Republicans insist on having a secure border before discussing any type of immigration reform legislation. Democrats don’t think people will catch up to this at some point? The PR game that carried Obama – health care lies and all – to the White House is showing significant signs of incompetent wear and tear
