Hamas Fighters Infiltrate Israel
Through Tunnel and Kill Two Soldiers

Wall Street Journal, by Joshua Mitnick *

As Israel continued its deadly assault on the Gaza Strip, Hamas militants sneaked into the country on Saturday and killed two soldiers, delivering the worst blow to the Israeli military on its side of the Gaza border in years. After sunset, loud Israeli artillery barrages were beginning in the north. The morning attack, along with another later in the day that the military said it foiled, highlighted what Israel is coming to see as a security threat more dangerous than the Islamic militant group´s arsenal of rockets. The raids also showed the militants are energized, set against Israel´s deepening resolve to continue its

According to the article, the Hamas killers were dressed in IDF uniforms and entered through a tunnel that opened into a field.

Killed a 20 year old sergeant and a 47 year old major.

And then:

Hamas fighters entered Israel again later Saturday, this time with tranquilizers and handcuffs to abduct Israelis, the military said, adding that two militants were killed in second attack, which was repulsed without Israeli casualties.

MONROVIA-A third U.S. health missionary infected with the deadly Ebola virus in Liberia left the West African country´s capital on Thursday in a plane headed for the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, the Christian organization SIM USA said. Dr. Rick Sacra, a 51-year-old Boston physician, is the latest worker for SIM USA to be infected with the virus that has killed more than 1,900 people. A Reuters cameraman saw Sacra, wearing white protective clothing, step out of the car that brought him to the tarmac and walk onto the aircraft. The plane was expected to arrive in Omaha on Friday

Unfortunately such is the state of current affairs. A prominent Egyptian official is telling his constituency, and the world, the reason Egypt and U.S. relations are so poor is because President Obama and John Kerry demand the Severe Islamists be included in policy decisions. Egypt categorically rejects the considerations of radical Islamic extremism, and will not bow to pressure from the United States to be more accommodating toward the radicals within the Muslim Brotherhood. Fatah el-Sisi is going to be speaking to the U.N. General Assembly in New York on September 25th. I’m thinking that David Cameron and

The home-cooked meal has long been romanticized, from ’50s-era sitcoms to the work of star food writer Michael Pollan, who once wrote, “far from oppressing them, the work of cooking approached in the proper spirit offered a kind of fulfillment and deserved an intelligent woman’s attention.” In recent years, the home-cooked meal has increasingly been offered up as the solution to our country´s burgeoning nutrition-related health problems of heart disease and diabetes. But while home-cooked meals are typically healthier than restaurant food, sociologists Sarah Bowen, Sinikka Elliott, and Joslyn Brenton from North Carolina State University argue that the stress that

Michael Sam has apparently found his next NFL job with the Dallas Cowboys. Sam, the defensive end seeking to become the NFL´s first openly gay player, will undergo a physical at the Cowboys headquarters on Wednesday, with the team poised to sign him to their 10-man practice squad, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed to USA TODAY Sports. It would create an intriguing mix with Sam joining arguably the NFL´s highest-profiled franchise amid the enormous presence he has enjoyed for his social statement.(Snip) Yet the Cowboys could use the help for their injury-depleted defense that is challenged to improve after ranking

American eating habits have improved — except among the poor, evidence of a widening wealth gap when it comes to diet. Yet even among wealthier adults, food choices remain far from ideal, a 12-year study found. (Snip)Scores for low-income adults were lower than the average and barely budged during the years studied. They averaged almost four points lower than those for high-income adults at the beginning; the difference increased to more than six points in 2009-10. David Cameron has given his personal backing to Brett and Naghemeh King by saying he believes the couple are trying to “do the very best for” their son Ashya. Mr Cameron, whose own son Ivan died at the age of six in 2009, refused to criticise Mr and Mrs King for smuggling their son out of a British hospital against his doctor’s wishes after deciding he would get better treatment abroad. Other senior MPs criticised the police for “criminalising” the couple and for their “heavy-handed” approach in issuing a Europe-wide warrant for their arrest.

In his autobiography, Dreams From My Father, the President wrote that in his teenage years “I tried my best to be cool at all times” (p. 82). Maybe the news that a second American has been beheaded will force President Obama to recognize he has no more compelling priority today than stopping the Islamic State and its bloodletting. In its latest barbarity, ISIS aimed to project American weakness to the world. Just before he beheaded Steven Sotloff, the ISIS executioner explained the butchery this way: I’m back, Obama, and I’m back because of your arrogant foreign policy towards the Islamic State, because of your insistence on continuing your bombings.?.?. Up to 70 veteran USA Today journalists, editors, and others were laid off Wednesday, and reports claim that the newly unemployed were "marched out by security" and within 15 minutes had their email accounts shut off. It was only a few weeks ago that Gannett did the same. USA Today is Gannett´s flagship publication and enjoys the highest circulation of any other American newspaper.
