Special Report: Karl Rove
and the Modern Money Machine

Politico Magazine, by Kenneth P. Vogel

The nation was in crisis, and it was shaping up to be the best thing that had happened to Karl Rove all year. On October 2, 2013, President Barack Obama and congressional leaders were meeting at the White House into the evening, desperately trying to come to a deal to end the government shutdown, then in its second full day. A mile up Pennsylvania Avenue, a grinning Rove was plying his guests with premium liquor at the Georgetown Four Seasons. It was no surprise that Rove’s mood was said to be buoyant at the first-ever donor “summit” of his

Even if this were true,Rove isn´t president while twiddling his thumbs over one self made crisis after another.Dems are far out raising the GOP this cycle so what is this moron crying about?

The dems could easily steal the upcoming election with recycled, laundered fed stimulus and illegal voters.

IF the republicans manage to somehow take the senate it will be no thanks to him. It will be in spite of him.
He´s already driven off most of the conservatives in favor of big money. Among voters, that leaves a few ideological drifters, people who vote R out of habit and the ones who are content with the lesser of two evils.
With Rove, who needs Obama?

Karl Rove´s ability to raise money and influence elections pales in comparison to decades of influence enjoyed by Democrat donors.

Examples of Democrat donors include George Soros, teachers´ unions, environmental organizations, labor unions, Tom Steyer, Hollywood celebrities, etc.

The Citizens United decision gave conservatives a certain ability to contribute to Republican causes. The current administration was so frightened that they would lose their fund raising advantage that they used the IRS to deny conservative organizations the legal tax provisions to which they are entitled.

And this author is upset with Karl Rove? What about the egregious abuses by the IRS?

A “Fox & Friends” segment Monday morning on the video of running back Ray Rice knocking unconscious his then-fiancée inside a casino elevator took a bizarre twist when the hosts made light of the incident with a series of tasteless jokes. After reading serious tweets and emails sent from viewers, the Fox News hosts, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade, segued into other celebrity-involved incidents of domestic violence. The men condemned both Rice’s now-wife, Janay Palmer, and singer Rihanna for “sending a terrible message” by staying with men who had abused them. And the men, sitting on either side of co-host

An aircraft chartered by coalition forces in Afghanistan, en route from Bagram air base to Dubai, landed Friday in Bandar Abbas, Iran, after Iranian officials questioned its flight plan, U.S. officials said. The plane had been contacted by Iranian air traffic controllers, who instructed it to return to Afghanistan and file the correct plan. When the pilots informed the Iranians they did not have enough fuel to return to Bagram, they were asked to land. One official said Iranian fighter jets had escorted the plane, which was carrying approximately 100 Americans and possibly a pair of Canadians, to the ground.

A Mississippi mother has launched an online campaign for justice after her little girl was allegedly severely beaten in a vicious playground attack last week. Disturbing images posted to the ´Justice for AvaLynn´ Facebook page by mother Lacey Harris reveal the kindergarten student´s bruising injuries, which her school claims happened when the five-year-old fell over. Harris refutes the official explanation from Arlington Elementary School and says that she wants a police investigation because her child´s injuries are simply too severe to have been caused by a fall.

An internal training guide used by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs compared veterans unhappy about their care to Oscar the Grouch, a newspaper reported. The Philadelphia Inquirer obtained a VA training slide show with tips for employees on how to help veterans with their claims. It was shown to VA employees staffing town-hall events with veterans in Philadelphia. About a dozen slides included pictures of the grumpy "Sesame Street" character who lives in a trash can. The slide show said that veterans might be demanding and unrealistic, and advised staffers on "what to say to Oscar the Grouch."

A driver pulled up to a ramp onto Interstate 95, got out, pumped several bullets into a popular panhandler in a wheelchair, then sped away — leading police on a 20-minute chase on residential streets and Interstate 95 before he was captured. Miami-Dade police took the shooter into custody before noon Tuesday, but did not release a name or give a motive for the killing, which took place at the southbound ramp from Northwest 95th Street to I-95. “He got out of the car, approached him and shot at him several times,” said Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, a Miami-Dade police spokesman.

Those of us who admit that we were not there, and do not know what happened when Michael Brown was shot by a policeman in Ferguson, Missouri, seem to be in the minority. We all know what has happened since then -- and it has been a complete disgrace by politicians, the media and mobs of rioters and looters. Despite all the people who act as if they know exactly what happened, nevertheless when the full facts come out, that can change everything. This is why we have courts of law, instead of relying on the media or mobs. But

President Obama’s much-rumored executive order granting legal status to potentially millions of illegal immigrants will be “disastrous” to African-American job seekers and a slap in the fact to others proceeding through the tedious legal immigration process, charges a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Peter Kirsanow, a black commissioner on the eight-member panel, warned in a letter (below) to Obama this week that giving legal status to undocumented workers will pave the way for them to take the few jobs that blacks, especially African-American men, need. “I write to remind you of the disastrous effect of illegal immigration

On June 13, the first bus of illegal immigrant minors, aged 12-17, arrived at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The state of Oklahoma was given no formal notice, and no chance to object. After weeks of bad publicity, public outrage and political pressure, the Obama administration announced this week that the facility will close by Friday, Aug. 8. That’s good news for the people of Oklahoma and the men and women of Fort Sill, who will once again have the full use of their military base for the purpose it was designed for: housing and training soldiers. What the facility’s closure does not mean is an end to the ongoing border crisis,

The Obama administration will make a decision on executive action to prevent corporations from leaving the country in the "very near future," Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said Monday morning. Speaking at an event on business taxes at the Urban Institute in Washington, Lew placed the responsibility on Congress to address so-called tax inversions, but said that the administration was prepared to step in if lawmakers don´t move quickly enough. Inversions are tax maneuvers in which corporations buy firms in low-tax countries in order to place their headquarters in that country. Such deals have grown in number in recent months, with
