Acting Secretary Sloan Gibson visited Albuquerque on Thursday with high praise for the VA hospital´s staff. He said the staff "reacted properly" when a veteran collapsed in the hospital´s cafeteria and later died. Jim Napoleon Garcia, 71, waited half an hour for an ambulance to take him 500 yards away to the emergency room. He received CPR on the floor during that time. "As I heard what they did and I stood there and looked at them in the eye, I was very proud. I´m very proud of what they did," Gibson said. "I´ve never had to do something like

I have a serious question....does anyone work for the government that has any common sense? I have young grandchildren who would react to a serious situation better than these people did. What blows my mind is that they are proud that they did the "right thing" and the person died as a result. Who are these people? Do you have to have a lobotomy to be qualified to work for the government? It sure seems like it. If not that then possibly have to fail an IQ test?

Sorry for a second thought. This new VA secretary seems to be as good as the old sec.If Sloan had a loved one die on the floor of a hospital, we would not be hearing "reacted properly". Is anything an outrage anymore?Other than the Redskins of course.

There´s been a story in the news and on Facebook about a Vietnam Vet who lost both legs above the knee, whose wheelchair broke down in a Lowe´s. He´d been waiting forever for a new one from the VA. Three Lowe´s employees situated him in a chair and proceeded to rebuild the wheelchair immediately with parts they had at Lowe´s. The man left the store in a rebuilt chair, and the employees told him they were honored to have helped.

#10 A veteran receives better treatment at Lowes than at a VA hospital. The hospital would of left him on the floor to die like they did in Albuquerqe.

An ambulance to go 500 yards? These people are insane. How can the staff have reacted "properly" when the result is that the veteran died? "The operation was a success, but the patient died." Obama´s mentor was Alinski. The mentor for these people is apparently Kafka.

We’re being had. Again. For six years, President Obama has endeavored to will the country into accepting two pillars of his alternative national-security reality. First, he claims to have dealt decisively with the terrorist threat, rendering it a disparate series of ragtag jayvees. Second, he asserts that the threat is unrelated to Islam, which is innately peaceful, moderate, and opposed to the wanton “violent extremists” who purport to act in its name. Now, the president has been compelled to act against a jihad that has neither ended nor been “decimated.” The jihad, in fact, has inevitably intensified under his counterfactual

Not this time. The U.S.-led air campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria doesn´t have a name. "I know of no plans at this point to name it," Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said Thursday. Since World War II, almost every U.S. military operation, large and small, has had a code name. Political pollsters have a tough job. They have to create formulas to determine if the person they are interviewing is likely to vote, and it is within this calculation that their reputations are made. Typically, those who are likely to vote in an off-year election are pretty set. They are the people who always vote in elections — with some motivated by specific issues. In a wave election, the number of those motivated by specific issues escalates, changing the electoral landscape as the candidates who are beneficiaries of this increased participation sweep to victory.
