Joel Gilbert´s There´s No
Place like Utopia

American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

Last night saw the premier in Denver of Joel Gilbert’s There’s No Place Like Utopia, a film that gets to the heart of the progressive/communist project for America and where it is leading us. Joel uses the Wizard of Oz as an extended metaphor for the trickery and fraud that underlies the quest to perfect human nature and bring about heaven on earth that Marx promised. The film is disarming in many ways, for it tackles great intellectual themes, usually the province of dense prose, and uses images and personality to tell the story in a highly accessible way. Utopia is tyranny. This film is sure to raise the ire of the WH, and you can be sure that the WH is aware of it and is not amused. We should not be surprised if Mr. Gilbert gets the same treatment as Dinesh D´Souza.

Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz came under fire yesterday for comments she made about Republican Governor Scott Walker that evoked images of domestic violence. Well, today, Wasserman Schultz sent out a statement walking back her comments. Yesterday she said, “Scott Walker has given women the back of his hand. I know that is stark. I know that is direct. But that is reality… What Republican tea party extremists like Scott Walker are doing is they are grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back. It is not going to happen on our watch.” After condemnation by Republicans,

DENVER— When he vowed to spend as much as $50 million of his own money, and raise the same from like-minded donors, billionaire Tom Steyer electrified the political world with his promise to make climate change an issue in this year´s midterm elections. Those elections are now two months away, and the former hedge fund manager is running out of time. On pace to raise far less than the widely touted $100 million, his group has a relatively minor presence on the airwaves. Steyer now says his biggest impact this year will be an old-fashioned, get-out-the-vote ground game. "Our strategy

MEXICO CITY— New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie seems to have left his usual bravado at home, packing instead a more humble tone for his trade mission to Mexico. Again and again, Christie has said that a key part of his mission is to listen and learn all he can from those he meets, and he began Thursday with a breakfast with the Mexican Business Council, a group of CEOs of Mexico´s largest companies. The governor, who is weighing a run for president in 2016, said the group had spent time discussing business opportunities for Mexican companies in New Jersey as

In late August the ISIS terror group captured SA-16 Manpads, AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles and MiG-21B jets when they took control of the Raqqa airbase in Syria. ISIS added MiG-21B Russian jets to their arsenal. The terror group also collected several SA-16 Manpads. This missile features a new seeker and modified launcher nose cover. The AIM-9 Sidewinder missile is a short-range air-to-air missile. The majority of Sidewinder variants utilize infrared homing for guidance. On August 3, 2014, ISIS released a video from Taqba airbase in Syria. The terrorists threatened Putin from on top of a Russian fighter jet:

It is fitting that the first sitting U.S. president to visit golf-obsessed Wales would be the golf-obsessed Barack Obama, who is staying at the venue that held the 2010 Ryder Cup for the NATO Summit that began on Thursday. Obama and other NATO leaders will be staying at the Celtic Manor resort in Newport, Wales, which is home to three separate championship-caliber golf courses, including the newly remodeled “Twenty Ten” course, which hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup. FRIENDSHIP, Maine -- Imagine Cape Cod without cod. Maine without lobster. The region´s famous rocky beaches invisible, obscured by constant high waters. It´s already starting to happen. The culprit is the warming seas - and in particular the Gulf of Maine, whose waters are heating up faster than 99 percent of the world´s oceans, scientists say. Long-established species of commercial fish, like cod, herring and northern shrimp, are departing for colder waters. Black sea bass, blue crabs and new species of squid - all highly unusual for the Gulf - are turning up in fishermen´s nets. The Gulf of Maine´s warming reflects broader

The home-cooked meal has long been romanticized, from ’50s-era sitcoms to the work of star food writer Michael Pollan, who once wrote, “far from oppressing them, the work of cooking approached in the proper spirit offered a kind of fulfillment and deserved an intelligent woman’s attention.” In recent years, the home-cooked meal has increasingly been offered up as the solution to our country´s burgeoning nutrition-related health problems of heart disease and diabetes. But while home-cooked meals are typically healthier than restaurant food, sociologists Sarah Bowen, Sinikka Elliott, and Joslyn Brenton from North Carolina State University argue that the stress that
