Our Callow Commander-in-Chief
National Review Online, by Charles C.W. Cooke

Original Article

It is at times like these, when he is pushed kicking and screaming into the crucible, that Obama’s callowness shows. For his supporters, that jejune, jocular air has been a plus for almost six years. For the rest of us, it has served as a liability and an irritation. Yesterday, it became a wholesale embarrassment. On the perpetual-campaign trail, the pattern is familiar. Trotting up to the podium, the president fist-bumps the audience’s stragglers and smiles a toothy and humble grin at those who catch his eye. While speaking, he responds to obsequy with obsequy — “I love you too!” he

With O´Reilly, Krauthammer and many others now walking back their initial zest for Zippy the Magic Negro, it would be well to remember that L.Com posters had him pegged as a traitor-in-chief months before he was elected the FIRST time!

Clint Eastwood was right when he stood on stage with an empty chair. There is no one there. Never has been. Obama is a figment of the Democrats imagination with Valerie running the show. She is a Communist slum lord from Chicago and is paid to handle Obama. Even she can´t make him look good.

It isn’t that he just looks emotionally disengaged when reporting an airline tragedy. He is about as emotionally engaged in the tragedy if he were reading baseball box scores. He simply doesn’t give a damm. It doesn’t effect the only one he really cares about, so machs niches.

The entire Obama clan has traveled to Camp David this weekend. A rare event since they hate the place. When things get really awful for him, he goes golfing. I´m sure no press is permitted to disturb the golfers at Camp David.

I wonder if they will be flying in George Soros to have a word with the gang that has gone so wrong. Makes one wonder what they will be plotting next.

Go placidly ?amid the noise and waste. And remember what comfort there may be ?in owning a piece (of Wallstreet) thereof.
Avoid brilliant and strong persons.
Inflate your tires.
Speak glowingly of those greater than yourself,? (even though in your own mind there may be none) and heed well their advice, ?even though they be imbeciles.
Know Hu to bow to.....and Wen!
Consider that two wrongs never make a right?, but that THREE...do.
Whenever possible, avoid decisions.
Exaggerate your achievements and cloak your plans in “Transparency”.
Be comforted that in the face of all aridity and disillusionment, despite the changing fortunes of time,? there will always be a big future in humis.
Strive at all times to lie, deceive, hide and/or destroy records.
Remember Benghazi
Know yourself. If you need help, call Jeremiah Wright.

Exercise caution in your daily affairs,? especially with those persons closest to you.? That dipstick Holder on the left for instance.
Be assured that a walk through the ocean of most souls would drown your shallow little … backside.
May the Muslim Brotherhood sandfleas of time forever ?infest your goat sandwich.
Hire Imams with hooks and sing Sheik KumBayyah
For a good time, call 1-800-606-4311. Ask for Reggie.
Take heart in the bedeepening gloom, ?that your wife is finally getting enough arugula.
Reflect that whatever misfortune may be your lot,? it could only be worse in Kenya.
Therefore, make peace with your god,? whether you conceive him to be a?Hairy Thunderer, or Cosmic Pedophile.
With all your hope and change, DREAM acts and broken promises the world continues to deteriorate. Party hearty and ...Fore!!

The only thing he cares about is winning elections. The demise of the country and the world are not a cause for concern. They are his ultimate goal because it gives the State power. Therefore, the only thing he cares about is winning elections.

We call him callow and feckless at our peril. A month from now no one will remember this plane incident. Something new will take its place.

But he will have raised lots of money to win elections in November. Thus he will have succeeded at his goal.

We need to understand this and get our eyes on the real game... November 2014 is our last shot. Forget the person and personality of Obama. He´s already gone.

We need to start working hard now to get out the vote in November! Because he is working night and day to raise money to defeat our candidates. And if he does that he will ultimately win.

For the next two years, this is to be our fate. Indifference, drift, diversion, and fatigue. Hello Cleveland! Hello Brooklyn! Goodbye, yellow brick road.

Yeah, and we laugh because the Babylonians didn´t know for two or three weeks that Babylon fell to Cyrus. I wonder if they were as unaware and stupid as we have been for over six years, with conservative talk show hosts, national prayer vigils, and pathetic Depends wearing politicians shouting, "We have to get our Belshazzar back!"

Thirteen days after Cyrus´ takeover, some unknown potter said, "Umm, guys, the old king´s been dead for about two weeks. We chose to be dumb enough to let Cyrus take us over without firing a shot thousands of years before Cloward, Piven and Alinsky were born because God promised it would happen and now we´re too dumb to figure it out. I wonder if anyone will beat our two week record of blissful ignorance."

Fast forward to November, 2008 and we still think good ole Belshazzar will come back in two years. Too bad our modern day Cyrus is the exact opposite of the original. But then we don´t deserve a Cyrus as good as the original. We deserve the one we have.

The Turbulent Summer Of 2014 – Victor Davis Hanson

If your children are old enough to be in college, they probably think the country they were born into is falling apart. If you’re a Baby Boomer like myself, you know the country you were born into is already gone. It’s a hard thing to thwart the general feeling of optimism shared by most Americans during a beautiful summer season. But, if you stop and take a thoughtful assessment of the disasters currently befalling our world, perhaps you’ll see that the fall might be closer than you think.

Ditto. Sober thoughts.

In his whole life has he ever hung around with anyone who liked America? I don´t think so. So why would anyone think he would want America to be strong and successful? He spent 20 years is a ´church´ where the leader says "God damn America," and the congregation reacts with raucous enthusiasm. It´s like if Bill Ayers would be president.

I don´t believe Obama is all that intelligent, but he is community organizer smart. He is a man who has been surrounded by virulent anti-Americans since birth. He was soaking it in, smoking his dope, and drifting through life until someone saw his potential. From that moment on, he was groomed for the job he holds now. Once he was approached, he eagerly agreed with his mentors and was set on the path he walks today. Obama was a long time in the making and was trotted out at the perfect time. However, he is unable to fool all the people all the time and that is the fly in his ointment. I just pray that eyes will be opened and people would see what we here at this salon have known from the beginning. Obama is a narcissistic fraud preening around and shaking his tail feathers in a pathetic attempt of feckless leadership that is dangerous to every American.

I began using the words callow and jejune to describe our narcissist in chief in 2009.

This is typical behavior for a malignant narcissist. Such people must be at the center of every story, either as hero (think bib Laden´s death)or as victim (all the whining about Republican obstructionism). When there is no opportunity to play either roll they treat the event as being of no importance. Indeed, with in a short period of time the narcissist won´t even remember that it happened.

It is not a matter of "luck" # 28 that could never have happened. This cannot be stopped by nibbling around the edges it will take a leader who confronts it head on. That will take an unusual combination of courage and intelligence the total opposite of Obama with unwavering support of citizens having similar qualities. The situation is dire - no time to give Romney another kick at the can. You can´t fight something with nothing!

- 0 has two superb competencies: campaigning and community organizing. Unfortunately for us, those competencies are a mismatch for a POTUS. Unlike him, we require someone who can lead us all and govern. Furthermore, foreign affairs events like MH17 are a distraction to his main interest: Remaking America and getting that task to irreversible critical mass by Jan 20, 2017. He is using his two competencies to get this done via organization (e.g. OFA) and $$$.

- And why does 0 appear so callow, so uninvolved? Because of his skill set, that´s why. Alinsky community organizers do not engage or confront. They organize and motivate and identify grievances and a pick out a spokesman. Then they step back and out of the way, coaching as needed. They lead from behind. Hence 0´s two distinct personas, the rabblerouser motivating speech giver, and the distant apparently disengaged unleader.

- And Cooke loses me with his use of ´´obsequy´´ which means only ´´funeral service´´. A typo???
FTA: ´´While speaking, he [obama] responds to obsequy with obsequy — ´I love you too!´ he will tell admirers whose voices rise above the crowd’s — and greets the boos that his speechwriters have sought with faux-surprised entreaties ´´to vote.´´ ´´

ØDumbø is like the local anchor persons on tv. He has no interest in any of the stories. He´s just reading a teleprompter. He has to synchronize his facial expressions with the news. If it´s a tragic story such as a plane crash he frowns. Then it´s time for sports and he smiles as he turns the story over to the jock reporter. Then it´s time for weather and he jokes with the weather reporter. He´s just Ron Burgundy minus the mustache which would make him look like Hitler. So far all he has accomplished is to prove the US needs a president.

We believe Obama is a cold hearted, calculating, lying ... He is amoral which means he has no empathy, no emotional connection to anyone but himself. Nothing bothers him, not the death of anyone, except what happens to him politically. All about self.

A psychologist would say because Obama did not bond with his parents, he doesn´t have an attachment with anyone. One could say he has the same spirit as Scott Peterson who now lives in San Quentin.

ATLANTA — Texas, America’s second-most populous state behind California, saw 13 of its last abortion clinics turn away women on Friday, after a federal appeals court upheld a law that practically guarantees that only a handful of clinics will remain open in the state. The strictest-of-its-kind Texas law requires abortion providers to build hospital-grade facilities and obtain sometimes impossible-to-get hospital admitting privileges. After signed into law last year by Gov. Rick Perry (R), the law forced most of the 41 clinics operating to close. Thursday’s ruling wiped out a brief victory this summer for abortion rights proponents,

The president promises to lawlessly amnesty millions of illegal aliens on his own say-so, enabling them to get work cards, Social Security numbers, driver’s licenses, EITC, foreign travel documents, and the rest. But there are executive powers that he really does possess that he’s not using. Senator Sessions has helpfully provided a number of “lawful, constitutional executive actions” that the president should already be undertaking but isn’t: Complete the border fence that Congress has previously passed into law; Create the exit-entry system to track foreign visa-holders, which Congress has repeatedly mandated; Cancel visas

With Ebola making its way to the United States, people are rushing to find more information on the deadly disease. The Centers for Disease Control released a new chart on how contagious Ebola is compared to other diseases. The results may surprise you, according to IJReview. What you’re seeing is an evaluation of how contagious the Ebola virus actually is compared to previous epidemics, namely: Hepatitis C, HIV, SARS, Mumps, and Measles. As Michaeleen Doucleff reported, these little icons of pink and red people reflect the disease’s relative R0 or R(nought) scores. The red person is the disease carrier, and the pink people

Should we be worried about Ebola? That’s the question on the minds of many Americans given the first documented case on U.S. soil this week. And now there is a second possible case, someone having contact with Thomas Duncan, the first U.S. case of Ebola. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reassures us, “I have no doubt that we’ll stop this in its tracks in the U.S.” President Obama also told us two weeks ago that “the chances of an Ebola outbreak here in the United States are extremely low.” Tell that to the 100 Texans who

Commencement speeches can be amusing, inspiring or, in the worst (some would say even the best) case, a bit dull. Schools tend to choose corporate CEOs, politicians and celebrities to send off the graduating class with a speech meant to give graduates a glimpse of what they can achieve if they work hard in the years that lie before them. Goddard College, a small liberal arts school in Plainfield, Vt., wanted a different kind of speaker. The graduating class chose a cop killer. The U.S. economy added 248,000 jobs in September, and the unemployment rate dropped to 5.9 percent. It’s called dereliction of duty when one knowingly dismisses the faithful execution of his or her prescribed duties in fulfilling their responsibility. I said so Monday evening with Greta von Susteren, and will continue to do so. And if anything represents “high crimes and misdemeanors” it’s the dereliction of duty that has resulted in the deaths of Americans – by beheadings. Furthermore, it is a dereliction of duty that has placed the national security of the United States of America at risk. As reported by Breitbart.com, “A new Government Accountability Institute (GAI)report reveals that President Barack Obama has attended only

Imagine if you downloaded something that ended up wiping out all the information you needed before meeting with an IRS agent asking about discrepancies on your tax return. How sympathetic do you think that IRS agent would be? But when it comes to the IRS itself, this is just what officials would have us believe. Turns out too it’s not just Lois Lerner, whose computer crashed right after Congress asked for info about the tax targeting of conservative organizations. Now we’re learning of another case where hard drives holding information that would help tell us what the IRS was up to have

HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Secretary E. Christopher Abruzzo and a top aide resigned Thursday over revelations that they were among dozens of state officials who sent or received pornographic e-mails over state computers. In a letter to Gov. Corbett, Abruzzo said he had not been able to review the explicit messages he allegedly sent or received, but said he accepted responsibility for "any lack of judgment" he may have exhibited. He added: "It is my concern that these assertions have become a distraction from the great record of this administration." Hours later, the department´s deputy

A convert to Islam who named himself Jah’Keem Yisrael (formerly Alton Alexander Nolen) beheaded one of his coworkers and was shot while trying to behead another on September 26 at his place of work, Vaughan Foods in Moore, Oklahoma. Despite the numerous indications that Yisrael was inspired to choose his manner of murder and to carry it out by his immersion in Islam, authorities profess to be puzzled as to why he did it, or at least certain that his actions had nothing to do with that most misunderstood of religions, Islam. The UK Daily Mail reported Tuesday that “while the

It all comes down to this: 11 years later, the front door was unlocked. When Oscar Gonzalez jumped the White House fence late last month, he should have been just another statistic. A mentally ill man who was doing what a handful of others do every year, get onto the White House lawn and find themselves tackled by guards or brought down by dogs or fired upon by snipers. But this time it was different. The President and first family weren´t home, the snipers didn´t shoot. It´s still not clear where the dogs were or why there was no Uniformed Division officer

HOUSTON, Texas -- A desperate Wendy Davis is now touting a heavily skewed poll that still shows her trailing by nearly ten points. With the margin of error in the poll being plus or minus 3.1 percent, she could be trailing in this discredited poll by as much as twelve points. After coming off two consecutive debate failures where Davis failed to even keep her composure and follow simple instructions from the moderator, Davis is now pushing a Texas Lyceum poll that shows her trailing Attorney General Greg Abbott’s campaign by 9 percentage points. The numbers in this poll are considered

In her just-released memoir, 27 year-old "Girls" star Lena Dunham claims that as a 19 year-old Oberlin College student in Ohio, she was raped by a college Republican. In the first chapter that addresses the encounter, Dunham describes the "ill-fated evening of lovemaking" as awkward and hollow. The most sensational moment comes from the fact that "Barry" wasn´t wearing a condom. In the next chapter, Dunham backtracks with the claim that she´s an "unreliable narrator" and accuses "Barry" of rape: [I]n another essay in this book I describe a sexual encounter with a mustachioed campus Republican as the upsetting but

A recently retired Secret Service agent told MailOnline on Thursday that former director Julia Pierson´s resignation will be welcomed by the agency´s rank-and-file because ´people in the service thought she was a joke from Day One.´ He attributed her swift fall from grace to a cadre of ´p***ed off agents who had had enough´ of feeling disrespected by the service´s first female director. ´Putting her in charge was part of the [Obama] administration´s push to feminize the service after the "hookergate" nightmare,´ the agent said, referring to agents who were fired after patronizing prostitutes during a security-check trip to Colombia

Deadly, irrational, and determined, the intruder snuck across a weakened perimeter. Eluding capture, the intruder was detained only after missteps and close calls. The spin began soon after the threat was isolated. Information was selectively leaked. Half-truths and untruths were uttered. Responsibility was avoided; privileges and credentials asserted; authority reasserted. Trust us. Remain calm. Don’t panic. This is the template of recent events. A mental case jumps the White House fence. He makes it to the East Room before he’s tackled by an off-duty Secret Service agent. Initial statements turn out to be misleading or false. President Obama was at Northwestern University on Thursday to deliver an economic speech that, he and his team hoped, would lay out the case for why the public is better off today than they were six years ago -- even if they didn´t feel it in their everday lives. Instead, Obama just gave every Republican ad-maker in the country more fodder for negative ads linking Democratic candidates to him. Here are the four sentences that will draw all of the attention (they come more than two thirds of the way through the speech): "I am not on the ballot this

A presidential defeat isn’t an easy thing to bounce back from. And Mitt Romney did it twice. So it was understandable that after he lost the presidential race in 2012, he was adamant about closing the door to the possibility of a third campaign. But recently, speculation is whirling that Romney may not be so adamant anymore. When asked if he was running in a New York Times interview published earlier this week, Romney said : “I have nothing to add to the story. We’ve got a lot of people looking at the race,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.” That response, which

Meghan McCain joined the dog pile on the Secret Service this week, saying she’s had “nothing but horrible experiences" with the agency and likening the agents to “glorified mall cops.” The 29-year-old author and television personality, who is also the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), opened up on Pivot’s “TakePart Live” about some of her interactions with the Secret Service. "I have nothing but horrible experiences with the Secret Service,” McCain said. “One of my friends called them glorified mall cops and I don´t think that´s terribly far off. I found them cliquey. WASHINGTON — Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland was at the grocery store the other day when he ran into an elderly black woman who expressed growing concern about President Obama’s safety. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? The furor that led to this week’s resignation of the director of the Secret Service resonated deeply among blacks, outraged that those supposed to be guarding the first black president were somehow falling down on the job — and suspicious even without evidence that it may be deliberate. “It is something that is widespread in

Go to a grocery store in California and buy all the milk, eggs and vegetables you want. But there’s one thing you won’t find at the checkout line, beginning July 1, 2015: Plastic bags to carry your stuff home. Gov. Jerry Brown (D) on Tuesday signed into law a ban on single-use plastic bags, making California the first state to prohibit stores from using the ubiquitous carry-alls. Shoppers will be charged 10 cents for every paper bag and heavy-duty plastic bag they use. “This bill is a step in the right direction,” Brown said in a press release announcing his approval. “It

The hawkish Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina says he is thinking about running for president in 2016. In an interview with Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard, the senator, running for re-election to the Senate this year, said: “If I get through my general election, if nobody steps up in the presidential mix, if nobody’s out there talking — me and McCain have been talking — I may just jump in to get to make these arguments,” Graham said. Speaking at a Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors event last night, Hillary Clinton decided to talk about Alexis de Tocqueville. The problem? She got it wrong -- by about a hundred years. "There´s a wonderful phrase that was first used by Alexis de Tocqueville, who came to the United States in the very early 1930s and traveled around our country," said Hillary Clinton, a probable 2016 presidential candidate. "And he was so amazed at how Americans organized themselves -- you know, coming from aristocratic Europe, which was totally top-down and hierarchical -- he couldn´t believe how many of us were joiners.

Thursday while speaking at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, President Barack Obama giggled and raised his arms as he mocked the Fox News Channel for it´s reporting on ObamaCare. Obama said, "There is a reason fewer Republicans, you hear them running around about ObamaCare, cause while good affordable health care might seem like a fanged threat to the freedom of the American people on Fox News it turns out its working pretty well in the real world."
