U.S. Chamber Backs Justin
Amash Primary Opponent

Roll Call, by Abby Livingston

Original Article

Posted By:WhamDBambam, 7/18/2014 9:08:49 AM

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorsed GOP Rep. Justin Amash’s primary challenger in Michigan’s 3rd District. The group’s support could translate into television airtime for Brian Ellis, a former East Grand Rapids School Trustee, before the Aug. 5 primary. The primary has become one of this cycle’s top battles inside the GOP, with the party’s libertarian wing backing Amash and national business interests boosting Ellis.

Comments:
Oh, dear! Oh, dear! It looks like the sainted Chamber of Commerce is trying to primary a sitting Republican. Other posters have told me that only the whackadoodle TEA party does such awful things.

What to do? What to do?

Please split wide headlines.

The CoC proves my point that they are against conservatives. Republicans will not win another national election with them at our side.

Remember Mississippi!

If by now it is not blatantly obvious that the Republican Establishment no longer is the opposition to cronyism and ballooning government you either are profiting from it or are not paying attention.

Are we looking at the demise of the Republican party? A party divided against itself cannot stand. We the Conservative, patriotic citizens must outnumber the wishy washy, uncaring ones. Step out and do your part for Rep Amash who is for closed borders and rule of law.

i often wonder if a third party of conservatives and libertarian refugees from the republican party might not attract a sizable number of democrats who no longer agree with the democrat positions, but can´t bring themselves to join the republican party

They´re all for primarying incumbents when the incumbents aren´t into cronyism. The GOP establishment (including CoC) has embraced blatant corruption.

Here´s what the usual suspects will say once they get their game face on:

"I thought conservatives liked it when incumbents got primaried! Dismissing all substance of why conservatives might champion an upstart. Watch for it. The smug will arise.

The Republican Party cares more about its big money donors than it does about its base. The GOP will not be taken over, it will simply fade into irrelevance. Given the great history of the party, this is terribly sad to me.

Even in the bitterly fought primary battle between Mississippi senator Thad Cochran and his challenger, state senator Chris McDaniel, some of the radio ads that aired against McDaniel were considered especially incendiary. One charged that a McDaniel victory would set back “race relationships between blacks and whites and other ethnic groups.” (SNIP) “Some money from the Republicans,” some from African Americans. “I raised money from a number of sources,” he said. As it turns out, Crudup raised all of the $144,685 his PAC took in from exactly one source: Haley Barbour’s political machine.

On July 9th 2014 President Obama made a visit to Dallas Texas for two reasons. The first reason was fundraising, the second reason was to meet with Governor Rick Perry and “Faith Leaders” to discuss the border crisis. A person mistakenly characterized by the media, but perhaps the most significant benefactor of the entire immigration roundtable. In the lower left of this image you see a man named Kevin Dinnin. It is at times like these, when he is pushed kicking and screaming into the crucible, that Obama’s callowness shows. For his supporters, that jejune, jocular air has been a plus for almost six years. For the rest of us, it has served as a liability and an irritation. Yesterday, it became a wholesale embarrassment. On the perpetual-campaign trail, the pattern is familiar. Trotting up to the podium, the president fist-bumps the audience’s stragglers and smiles a toothy and humble grin at those who catch his eye. While speaking, he responds to obsequy with obsequy — “I love you too!” he

Talk radio host Glenn Beck criticized Fox News and Breitbart for their reporting of his plan to visit the border to bring food, soccer balls, and teddy bears to illegal immigrants on the southern border. Beck complained about a lack of coverage of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) joining his. “Nobody´s reading [The Blaze´s coverage of Ted Cruz going to border]. Our viewers and our readers are not even reading it. That should be the number-one retweeted story. If you like Ted Cruz [you should promote this story.] Where´s Breitbart on that story? Where´s Fox News on that story?” Beck stated. He added

When White House press secretary Josh Earnest said this week that President Barack Obama had "substantially improved the tranquillity of the global community," many observers reacted with disbelief. (snip) It is as though the more dangerous the world becomes the more Obama hides in a fantasy world of avoiding the responsibilities of the presidency. He uses the office to surround himself with court jesters who distract him in an enlightened and noble way from the growing failures of his policies and the rapidly expanding threats to the civilized world. Now that the U.S.-Russia relationship has broken down, Moscow could throw a wrench into the teetering nuclear negotiations with Iran. The escalating tensions between Washington and Moscow, brought to fever by the MH17 airliner disaster, are finally to the point where they threaten to spoil the number one item on President Obama’s foreign policy agenda: the nuclear talks with Iran. The man doing the threatening is Russian President Vladimir Putin.Earlier this week, Putin promised to retaliate against the United States for new sanctions targeting his friends and business associates, as well as large Russian defense, energy, and financial firms. (Video) Friday First Lady Michelle Obama hosted the first "Kids State Dinner” in the East Room of the White House, which treated the 54 children who won a nationwide healthy meal recipe contest sponsored by the food magazine Epicurious and the Education and Agriculture departments to a state dinner. The first lady told the kid chefs from each state, the District of Columbia, and three U.S. territories, "I need you guys to make your voices heard," because, she explained, "folks in Congress [are] trying to undo some of the progress that we’ve made to get healthier food into our schools."

At a political event in Wilmington, Delaware, on Thursday, President Obama devoted only 40 seconds to the shooting down of the Malaysian airline, his first statement to the world following the news. His emotionless reference to the attack as ‘a terrible tragedy’ seemed disconnected from the horrific moment, particularly as he immediately reverted to script to praise his administration and criticise Republicans. It was a far cry from President Reagan’s 1983 fierce denunciation of the Soviet shooting down of a Korean airliner as a ‘crime against humanity’. But it only confirmed the chaos into which US foreign policy has descended since the summer

Gay marriage laws and court rulings against sexual-orientation discrimination are all signs that it’s time for the federal government to change its blood-donor policy for gay and bisexual men, authors said in a commentary released Saturday. The lifetime ban for blood donation by men who have sex with men (MSM) “may be perpetuating outdated homophobic perceptions,” wrote Dr. Eli Y. Adashi of Brown University and scholars I. Glenn Cohen and Jeremy Feigenbaum, both of Harvard Law School, in the July 23/30 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association. “Even though well intentioned and guided by a need to

LOS ANGELES — Actor James Garner, whose whimsical style in the 1950s TV Western “Maverick” led to a stellar career in TV and films such as “The Rockford Files” and his Oscar-nominated “Murphy’s Romance,” has died, police said. He was 86. He was found dead of natural causes at his home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles Saturday evening, Los Angeles police officer Alonzo Iniquez said early Sunday. Police responded to a call around 8 p.m. PDT and confirmed Garner’s identity from family members, Iniquez told The Associated Press. There was no immediate word on a more specific cause of death. Garner had suffered a stroke in May 2008, just weeks after his 80th birthday.

Stefanie O´Neill, who is in regular contact with Bergdahl´s mother, said the U.S. soldier´s parents were strained both by their son´s silence since his May 31 release and because of death threats being investigated by the FBI.
