U.S. Chamber Backs Justin
Amash Primary Opponent

Roll Call, by Abby Livingston

Original Article

Posted By:WhamDBambam, 7/18/2014 9:08:49 AM

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorsed GOP Rep. Justin Amash’s primary challenger in Michigan’s 3rd District. The group’s support could translate into television airtime for Brian Ellis, a former East Grand Rapids School Trustee, before the Aug. 5 primary. The primary has become one of this cycle’s top battles inside the GOP, with the party’s libertarian wing backing Amash and national business interests boosting Ellis.

Comments:
Oh, dear! Oh, dear! It looks like the sainted Chamber of Commerce is trying to primary a sitting Republican. Other posters have told me that only the whackadoodle TEA party does such awful things.

What to do? What to do?

Please split wide headlines.

The CoC proves my point that they are against conservatives. Republicans will not win another national election with them at our side.

Remember Mississippi!

If by now it is not blatantly obvious that the Republican Establishment no longer is the opposition to cronyism and ballooning government you either are profiting from it or are not paying attention.

Are we looking at the demise of the Republican party? A party divided against itself cannot stand. We the Conservative, patriotic citizens must outnumber the wishy washy, uncaring ones. Step out and do your part for Rep Amash who is for closed borders and rule of law.

i often wonder if a third party of conservatives and libertarian refugees from the republican party might not attract a sizable number of democrats who no longer agree with the democrat positions, but can´t bring themselves to join the republican party

They´re all for primarying incumbents when the incumbents aren´t into cronyism. The GOP establishment (including CoC) has embraced blatant corruption.

Here´s what the usual suspects will say once they get their game face on:

"I thought conservatives liked it when incumbents got primaried! Dismissing all substance of why conservatives might champion an upstart. Watch for it. The smug will arise.

The Republican Party cares more about its big money donors than it does about its base. The GOP will not be taken over, it will simply fade into irrelevance. Given the great history of the party, this is terribly sad to me.

Even in the bitterly fought primary battle between Mississippi senator Thad Cochran and his challenger, state senator Chris McDaniel, some of the radio ads that aired against McDaniel were considered especially incendiary. One charged that a McDaniel victory would set back “race relationships between blacks and whites and other ethnic groups.” (SNIP) “Some money from the Republicans,” some from African Americans. “I raised money from a number of sources,” he said. As it turns out, Crudup raised all of the $144,685 his PAC took in from exactly one source: Haley Barbour’s political machine.

Immigrant-rights groups reacted furiously Saturday after the White House made clear President Obama will not take unilateral action on immigration before November’s elections, nodding at the political realities of the issue as he punted on the key policy questions. With a number of key Senate races in GOP-leaning states, Democrats had feared that action now would anger voters and cost them control of the upper chamber, and had privately begged the White House to hold off on any move to halt deportations. But immigration activists said it’s the latest in a series of moves by Mr. Obama to shove their

Are you tired of being lied to yet? My guess is no... because Americans seem to have developed an infinite capacity for patience with a federal government that is increasingly mettlesome, mendacious and menacing.[SNIP] This last Friday night, an interview was aired which should convince American citizens once and for all that their government is not telling the truth about what happened in Libya two years ago. That’s been obvious to many of us for months, but despite the naming of a select committee by the U.S. House of Representatives to investigate what could have happened, what should have happened,

US President Barack Obama admitted he should have expected to be criticized for hitting the links on the same day that he addressed the beheading of American journalist James Foley and spoke with his family. ´Part of this job is also the theater of it,´ he told NBC News´ Chuck Todd. ´Well, it´s not something that always comes naturally to me. But it matters. And I´m mindful of that.´ He added: ´I should have anticipated the optics´ of playing golf. Greta Van Susteren admitted Friday “Off the Record” that she was called by the Obama White House and told to push FOX reporter Jennifer Griffin to drop her Benghazi investigation. “Since day one of Benghazi FOX News has been aggressively investigating. It hasn’t been easy. It’s been more like pulling teeth to get answers from the Obama administration. The Obama administration’s behavior post Benghazi has been weird. State Department spokesman Jen Psaki makes me psick. If you read P.G. Wodehouse, you know the “P” in her name is silent, as in “phthisis,” “psychic” and “ptarmigan” (as Wodehouse’s Psmith explains). And Psaki’s colleague Marie Harf makes me barf. Together Psaki and Harf give the catastrophic foreign policy of the Obama administration a lighter than air, Valley Girl kind of feel. It’s a novel use of expressive form. Paul Mirengoff explores their weightlessness in the adjacent post. Sen. Bernie Sanders, a self-described socialist, called for a progressive estate tax on multi-millionaires and billionaires during a speech on Saturday. “A nation will not survive morally or economically when so few have so much while so many have so little,” Mr. Sanders said at the Vermont AFL-CIO annual convention. “We need a tax system which asks the billionaire class to pay its fair share of taxes and which reduces the obscene degree of wealth inequality in America,” said Mr. Sanders, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats. According to Mr. Sanders, taxing the top .25 percent of wealthiest Americans is the fairest

On Sunday, Atlanta Hawks Controlling Owner Bruce Levenson announced that he will sell his interest in the team after self-reporting an "offensive" email from 2012 in which he said that white fans may be scared of black fans. "I trivialized our fans by making clichéd assumptions about their interests (i.e. hip hop vs. country, white vs. black cheerleaders, etc.) and by stereotyping their perceptions of one another (i.e. that white fans might be afraid of our black fans). "President Obama has openly reaffirmed his unconstitutional plan to nullify our nation’s sovereign laws, issuing executive amnesty and work permits to millions of illegal immigrants. In so doing, he will wipe away American workers’ lawful immigration protections.
