Some of Israel’s Top Defenders
Say It’s Time to End U.S. Aid

Israel’s economy is booming. So why is the United States still giving it $3.1 billion a year? That’s the question on the minds of some of Israel’s biggest supporters in Washington. U.S. taxpayers have provided the Israeli military that invaded Gaza on Thursday night with more than $121 billion since the state’s founding, subsidizing about 25 percent of the tiny country’s annual defense budget in recent years. That subsidy has increased even as Israel’s economy has experienced a growth spurt and the country has discovered stores of natural gas. Indeed, President Obama last year pledged to begin early negotiations to extend the

The only intelligent, rational People in the ME. Our allies.
Meanwhile they will consider 4 BILLION for a bunch of diseased, illiterate illegal aliens who have invaded our Country and can´t wait to get EBT cards and section 8 housing.

Does this mean we will also stop sending aid to the muslims? Or is it OK to kill Jews and not help them defend themselves?

This boogles the mind. The last time I checked the ethnic makeup of the Congress, 2012, There were 12 Jews in the Senate and approximately 9% of the House. This from a population of Jews who are about 2 1/2 %. The problem with American Jews is that a large portion do NOT support Israel as this article suggests. Yet they have no problem sending 400 million dollars to GAZA yearly which in turn gives the money to Hamas to wage war against Israel. AMERICA IS SUPPORTING TERRORISTS WHO NOT ONLY WANT TO SEND ISRAEL INTO OBLIVION, BUT ALSO ATTACK THE USA. As our president writes in his book, :he will stand with the muslims." I believe I am losing my mind. the media continues to support Obama. Yesterday he called the killing of 298 people by Russia a "TRAGEDY", Then finished his speech with jokes and left for NY on AF-1 for 2 dumbocRAT fundraisers.
Check what Reagan did in 1983 when Russians shot down a Korean airlliner. Gave up his vacation and returned to DC.

I love Israel - but are we really helping them when we leverage our aid with John Kerry et al. telling them what they should or should not do?

I would much prefer to give directly to Israel and trim back the federal government.

Why is our federal government giving aid to any country? Where in the constitution is it authorized to do that?

Don´t get me wrong - I love Israel. But I´d rather see individuals donate their money to causes they support - including those in other countries - rather than have my government give away my money to causes I don´t necessarily support (eg: money to so-called palestinians).

Why continue to give aid to Israel? Maybe it´s because the rest of the world wants them wiped off the face of the earth, with us being second in line. And, isn´t it a GOOD thing that someone we give aid to actually knows what to do with it by turning it into even MORE capital? Compare Israel´s use of US aid to that of, oh say...any other country or people on the planet. Pretty impressive, those Israelis.

It´s really quite simple. The $3.1B saves the Islamonazi World and countless Islamonazi lives. Without this continuing military support Israel might face defeat, and if so, would have to go nuclear under the "Samson Option" and that would be the end for the Islamonazis.

If you love the Islamonazis it´s the dirt cheap deal of the century!

Interesting that this story crawled out now, as Israel in on the ground in Gaza, like we would be punishing them for doing it?

Of course those pushing it would deny any connection.

And I actually agree in a broader sense. We should stop sending aid to almost ALL the rest of the world, especially Arab countries. Let them use their oil dollars to support their people instead of terrorists. We should stop housing troops in Europe and other places as well.

No matter how booming the Israeli economy might be, can it produce enough wealth to fund a defense establishment sufficient to keep the Islamonazi barbarians at bay? High tech, which means expensive, weaponry is required to offset the Muslim numerical superiority and Israel´s need for 360 degree defense. I would guess that an economy in a nation of, what, 7-10 million cannot, which is only one good reason to send $$ aid to Israel. Besides which we get a myriad of valuable tech support and innovation from the Israelis.

You can understand President Obama´s current political problems -- and how those problems could make things very tough for his party in this fall´s midterm election -- in a single word. And that word is "competence". Obama was elected in 2008 on a stated promise that he would restore competence to government. He pitched himself as the antidote to "Heck of a job, Brownie" and the Bush years, the person who would always put the most qualified candidate in every job in his Administration. That the basic functioning of government would never be in question. Almost six years on from

A Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) audit found that “poor record keeping” has resulted in a sea of unaccounted weapons given to Afghan forces by the U.S. government. The total includes 465,000 small arms, such as AKs and M16s. However, inventory inspections at depots found missing weapons and more weapons than the military needed, increasing the likelihood that U.S.-provided

It´s OK to pack heat in the nation’s capital. In a stunning blow to gun laws in Washington, D.C., a federal judge has tossed a city ban on bearing arms in public. Frederick Scullin, normally a senior judge in Syracuse, ruled that the law prohibiting people from carrying guns outside the home for self-defense violated the Second Amendment. “There is no longer any basis on which this court can conclude that the District of Columbia’s total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny,” reads the judge’s 19-page opinion.

Because memory, particularly historical memory, fails unfailingly, this summer feels like a uniquely horrific season of dissolution and blood. “You name it, the world is aflame,” Gary Samore, a former national-security aide in the Obama Administration, told Peter Baker, of the Times, the other day. “We always have a mix of complicated interests. That’s not unusual. What’s unusual is there’s this outbreak of violence and instability everywhere.” The supposed tranquillity of earlier seasons is almost always an artifact of distance. Moments of clarity often come when you least expect them. In a speech to contributors last week in Seattle, Barack Obama made the case that his presidency has made America better. In most respects, it was precisely the kind of political pablum you’d expect from a president who seems more concerned with legacy-polishing than governing. He ticked off his accomplishments, a list that was equal parts premature celebration (deficit reduction), hyperbole (Obamacare), and borrowed glory (rising college attendance, a strong stock market, increased energy production). Even if few in this fawning crowd were going to question him, circumstances required the president
