It costs $500K to let your kids

A mogul spent six figures to win lunch for two with Bill and Hillary Clinton at a charity auction benefiting the Clinton Foundation — but when the winner asked to bring his two kids along, he was told he’d have to double his bid to $1 million. Spies said Charitybuzz CEO Coppy Holzman was talking about the recent Clinton auction hosted by his Web site at a swanky Hamptons Magazine party for ArtHamptons last Friday. One witness said Holzman regaled guests with a tale that “lunch for two with Bill and Hillary went for $500,000 to benefit the Clinton Foundation.” And the

It is all about how to raise more money for the Clinton War Chest. $500K is way over the legal limits for direct donations, so this and $250K speeches (which are paid for by unnamed donators and not the site) are just alternative ways to get around the law. What else can you expect from the Clintons?

Is it $500K to have dinner with the Clintons or is it $500K you will need to spend on therapy and deprogramming them afterwards?

Wait, I take it back , if it were free I would use the time to let them know what I thought of them.

The absurdity of the idea that Bill and Hill have the audacity to expect anyone to pay $500K to have dinner with them is surpassed only by the fact that there are severely demented individuals out there who would actually fork over the price!!

Think how many starving people could be fed with $500K!!

Two months ago, I left the White House after six years of working for President Obama. As anyone who’s had the privilege of serving a sitting president can tell you, the job is both tremendously rewarding and incalculably demanding. No advanced degree or job experience truly prepares you for the tidal wave of responsibility and the sheer gravity of history that beckons each day. The Arab Spring. Newtown. Hurricane Sandy. The New York Times´ coverage of the ongoing situation in Israel, which began with the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers, continued this past week to be marked by intense anti-Israel bias in tone and labeling, and overwhelming emotionalism over the deaths of Palestinian civilians in the crossfire (Israeli deaths from terrorism rarely if ever merited such heart-felt treatment). After the tragic deaths of four young Gazan boys on a beach, the Times let its photographer hint at something sinister: "Children, maybe four feet tall, dressed in summer clothes, running from an explosion, don’t fit the description of Hamas

Under normal circumstances, among the first to swarm a plane crash are trained professionals. Even under the best of conditions, they’re painstakingly methodical: They seal off the site to prevent tampering, videotape, examine, preserve parts of the wreckage and send bits off for analysis. They never know which part of a wing or fuselage might tell the tale, so every small find is crucial. But the circumstances of Thursday’s Malaysia Airlines plane crash were anything but normal. It was obvious from the moment a giant explosion sounded in eastern Ukraine, spawning smoke that billowed black across the horizon. Among the first

Israel’s economy is booming. So why is the United States still giving it $3.1 billion a year? That’s the question on the minds of some of Israel’s biggest supporters in Washington. U.S. taxpayers have provided the Israeli military that invaded Gaza on Thursday night with more than $121 billion since the state’s founding, subsidizing about 25 percent of the tiny country’s annual defense budget in recent years. That subsidy has increased even as Israel’s economy has experienced a growth spurt and the country has discovered stores of natural gas. Indeed, President Obama last year pledged to begin early negotiations to extend the

Some Republicans are beginning to extend their free-market, limited-government beliefs to include opposition to corporate welfare, like the Export-Import Bank. Many conservatives hate the idea of centralized education standards driven by a coalition of unaccountable bureaucrats and big business. K Street lobbyist and former GOP congressional aide John Feehery warns that this is a dangerous for the Right to walk, asking: What would happen if Big Business decided to change sides? What would happen if the Chamber of Commerce suddenly stopped being a huge fundraising machine for the Republican Party and started financing pro-business Democrats?
