Far From Scandal at Home, Christie
Basks in Limelight on Iowa Trip

New York Times, by Michael Barbaro

MARION, Iowa — The unspoken rules of prepresidential politics, not to mention the diplomacy of navigating a scandal, required Chris Christie to avoid any suggestion that his swing through Iowa on Thursday involved his own White House ambitions. Inside a diner here, a different reality played out. Mr. Christie, the Republican governor of New Jersey, reveled in repeated pleas to run for president, nodding as a middle-aged man here told him that he alone possessed the “rough-and-tumble style” necessary to tame Washington. “You know how to play that game,” the man said. “I do,” Mr. Christie replied. He autographed framed

It´s funny how mere imagery can convince a voter to support somebody.Christie took on this tough guy approach when he first got elected but he´s been snuggling with left wing themes ever since then.Obviously,we need a tough guy president in 2016 but it does no good f they don´t have the right guidance of being a core conservative.Just take Jindal,I think he´s a hell of aot more sincere about fixing stuff than Christie.

I really hate to burst any Christie fans´ bubbles, but America isn´t going to vote for a Jersey RINO. He has to appear at least moderately conservative for the republican voters but will naturally trend left for the democrat voters (remember? - from Jersey).

The independents, on the other hand, will watch him with moderate disgust as his true personality outshines the day´s messages.

Says more about the saps in Iowa than it does about Christie.

The NH/IA lottery must go. These two states invariably get suckered by the flimsiest Music Man routines along with the locals getting geeked up because they spot Carl Cameron in town every four years. We´re on TEEVEE!

Give me a break. NH makes a mockery of its Live Free Or Die motto and Iowa´s so-called heartland sensibility isn´t.

Why Holder Quit

It’s oddly fitting that Attorney General Eric Holder – a stubbornly independent career prosecutor ridiculed by Barack Obama’s advisers for having lousy political instincts— would nail his dismount. But Holder, who began his stormy five-plus-year tenure at the Justice Department with his controversial “Nation of Cowards” speech, has chosen what seems to be the ideal (and maybe the only) moment to call it quits after more than 18 months of musing privately about leaving with the president and senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett, a trio bound by friendship, progressive ideology and shared African-American ancestry. It was now or never,

On the day Attorney General Eric Holder announced his resignation, President Barack Obama enacted an executive action on Thursday to allow certain DREAMers to serve in the military and be put on an expedited path to citizenship. Obama vowed to hold off on broad executive amnesty that would also potentially grant temporary work permits to millions of illegal immigrants until after the midterm elections to help Senate Democrats retain the Senate. According to the Military Times, this executive action will expand MAVNI (Military Accessions in the National Interest) "to target foreign nationals with high-demand skills, mostly rare foreign language expertise,

A former U.S. government official says Holder has been increasingly "adamant" about his desire to leave soon

By now we are well aware that President Obama goes out of his way to praise Islam, making false claims that Islam is a religion of peace (is anyone else completely sick of that expression?) and lauding purported Muslim contributions to civilization. When speaking at the United Nations on Wednesday Obama took taqiyya to a whole new level when he praised Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah. Who, you may ask, is that? This is who, per a report in the Washington Free Beacon: …a controversial Muslim cleric whose organization has reportedly endorsed the terror group Hamas and supported a fatwa condoning

Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) defended his recent pro-Israel speech that was shouted down by audience members at a Middle Eastern Christian conference, in an interview published Tuesday. Critics have accused Cruz of intentionally provoking the audience–which included some prominent supporters of Hezbollah and the Syrian regime–by praising Israel during his speech to the In Defense of Christians conference in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 10. Others have applauded the senator for telling the conference, which was organized to bring attention to the persecution of Middle Eastern Christians, that “Christians have no greater ally than Israel,” before he was drowned out

On September 27th, the nation will be stumbling across a very significant and illustrative anniversary -- and yet the very people who need to be enlightened remain clueless. It is the 20th anniversary of the rollout of the Contract with America, a document that nationalized a Congressional midterm election for perhaps the first time. This nationalization of the ‘94 election was the key component – though not the only one – in an historic landslide wave election. The Republicans swept 54 Democrats out of the House, including Speaker Tom Foley, and eight from the Senate, and took control of both
