Why the "Mitt Romney for
President" Talk Won´t Die

The National Interest, by W. James Antle III

Original Article

Will Mitt Romney run again for president? The question seems absurd. Aside from a single commanding debate performance against President Barack Obama, he was not a very good candidate in 2012. After failing in his first attempt at gaining the Republican nomination four years earlier, Romney struggled across the finish line against weak, underfunded primary opponents whose best days were mostly behind them. He then promptly lost to Obama in November. In fact, Romney has only won one general election in twenty years of running for office. He will be fourteen years removed from that lone victory in November 2016. His overall

Comments:
You can only polish a Social Progressive reject so many times and it will still never shine. If Willard decides to run in 2016 it will be to add another achievement to his Failed Political Resume, a Four Time GOP Presidential Candidate Loser. Time to flush the Social Progressives and their Candidates out with the waste.

Democrats are desperately hoping for another weak candidate from the republicans. That is why the liberal media is talking up Romney.

While taking neither side of the should-he-shouldn´t-he debate, I seem to remember that he would have won if all who voted for McCain in ´08 had voted for him and not stayed home. Those are the ones I blame for the mess we´re in today.

Of course Mitt Romney is not to blame for not doing enough to get voters to turn out and vote for him. He was the most electable guy ever and they owed it to him!

The Republican Establishment still hasn´t learned that you must earn a vote, not demand it.

Keep whining. That will fix it!

The stay at home vote Myth of Willard´s Apologists has been debunked numerous times. Willard actually garnered 9990,000 more votes in 2012 than McQueeg did in 2008. SO shift the focus back to Willard just being the incompetent boorish candidate that he is.

No #7.

Throwing a tantrum and the stomping of the feet requires far less introspection which may lead to the conclusion one was wrong.

It does nothing to remedy the situation but at least this way a Romneyite can keep the warm fuzzy self delusion alive and get a little exercise in as well.

There is not very much good to say about the life and career of Vladimir Lenin, but give the pickled old monster this much: He cut through more than two centuries’ worth of bull and straight to the heart of all politics with his simple question: “Who? Whom?” Which is to say: Who acts? Who is acted upon? Even here in the land of the free, meditating upon that question can be an uncomfortable exercise. The foundation of classical liberalism, and of the American order, is not the rule of law, a written constitution, freedom of speech and worship, one-man/one-vote democracy,

One of the reasons people have grown so angry over Obama´s manufactured border crisis is that everything we are told is a lie. That´s consistent with the core Amnesty Caucus belief that the benighted knuckle-dragging xenophobic citizens of the United States have nothing to say about immigration policy - it´s a decision that will be made by the Ruling Class, in accordance with their political and economic interests. You taxpaying chumps will be told whatever the Ruling Class thinks you need to hear, whenever they think you need to hear it, with the truth either suppressed or kept on ice

AP reports that former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will campaign in Arkansas in August for Republican nominee Asa Hutchinson. Perfect. Asa doesn´t think the bottom 40 percent of Arkansas wage earners are entitled to any tax breaks. Mitt Romney´s thoughts on the "47 percent" are well known. Like Asa, Chris Christie doesn´t have a problem with letting people decide what medical services should be supplied under group health insurance plans, no matter what the law says. Christie absolutely favors denial of contraception if an employer chooses to deny it. Slippery slope. In vitro fertilization? That´s a

There´s a growing body of evidence that has emerged that links Russia to the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine, despite the best efforts of pro-Russian militants to scrub the record. Just 25 miles from Donetsk in pro-Russian held territory, the flight carrying 298 passengers and crew was brought down on Thursday, killing everyone on board. The U.S. believes it was likely shot down by an SA-11 missile fired from a Buk surface-to-air missile system. Both Russian President Vladimir Putin and pro-Russian militants have deflected, attempting to blame Ukraine for the crash. Later, the top rebel commander

Recent Supreme Court decisions should remind all Americans of the importance of freedom of religion and of redress mechanisms embedded in the U.S. system to protect this right when threatened or undermined. Many in other countries are not as fortunate. Countless innocents worldwide are persecuted for the peaceful practice of their faith. Some are subjected to torture, beatings, forced marriage, rape, imprisonment, enslavement, and forced resettlement. Others, such as MeriamYahia Ibrahim Ishag, a Sudanese woman who converted to Christianity, are sentenced to death for their beliefs. On Thursday, Russia’s expeditionary army in Eastern Ukraine shot a missile at what they thought was a Ukrainian jet, according to U.S. intelligence. It wasn’t a Ukrainian jet. It was a Malaysia Airlines passenger plane, flying its normal commercial route that happened to take it over Ukraine. As per usual. And it appears the Russians shot it down, killing 298 people. Vladimir Putin didn’t even bother denying it – he blamed the Ukrainians. “This tragedy would not have occurred if there were peace in that country, or in any case, if hostilities had not resumed in southeast Ukraine,” Putin said. It is at times like these, when he is pushed kicking and screaming into the crucible, that Obama’s callowness shows. For his supporters, that jejune, jocular air has been a plus for almost six years. For the rest of us, it has served as a liability and an irritation. Yesterday, it became a wholesale embarrassment. On the perpetual-campaign trail, the pattern is familiar. Trotting up to the podium, the president fist-bumps the audience’s stragglers and smiles a toothy and humble grin at those who catch his eye. At a political event in Wilmington, Delaware, on Thursday, President Obama devoted only 40 seconds to the shooting down of the Malaysian airline, his first statement to the world following the news. His emotionless reference to the attack as ‘a terrible tragedy’ seemed disconnected from the horrific moment, particularly as he immediately reverted to script to praise his administration and criticise Republicans. It was a far cry from President Reagan’s 1983 fierce denunciation of the Soviet shooting down of a Korean airliner as a ‘crime against humanity’. But it only confirmed the chaos into which US foreign policy has descended since the summer

LOS ANGELES — Actor James Garner, whose whimsical style in the 1950s TV Western “Maverick” led to a stellar career in TV and films such as “The Rockford Files” and his Oscar-nominated “Murphy’s Romance,” has died, police said. He was 86. He was found dead of natural causes at his home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles Saturday evening, Los Angeles police officer Alonzo Iniquez said early Sunday. Police responded to a call around 8 p.m. PDT and confirmed Garner’s identity from family members, Iniquez told The Associated Press. There was no immediate word on a more specific cause of death. Garner had suffered a stroke in May 2008, just weeks after his 80th birthday.
