Moral clarity in Gaza
Washington Post, by Charles Krauthammer

Israel accepts an Egyptian-proposed Gaza cease-fire; Hamas keeps firing. Hamas deliberately aims rockets at civilians; Israel painstakingly tries to avoid them, actually telephoning civilians in the area and dropping warning charges, so-called roof knocking. “Here’s the difference between us,” explains the Israeli prime minister. “We’re using missile defense to protect our civilians, and they’re using their civilians to protect their missiles.” Rarely does international politics present a moment of such moral clarity. Yet we routinely hear this Israel-Gaza fighting described as a morally equivalent “cycle of violence.” This is absurd. What possible interest can Israel have in cross-border fighting? Like with their active support of obviously destructive domestic policies, the "progressive" stand on the Palestinians makes no sense until you realize the cold, shocking truth behind it: they support evil on purpose. The "progressive", given the choice between the barbarian and the civilized man will, always and invariably, choose the barbarian (or as they disingenuously call it, the "oppressed"). Behind this is the Marxist lie that "the poor are poor because the rich are rich". Supporting barbarian Hamas against civilized Israel is no different than supporting cop killers against the "1%" - "progressives" are, because of their upside-down and totally intolerant ideology, always forced to choose the wrong side: the bad.

Missile ´Would Have Destroyed
MH17 in Split Seconds´
Breitbart London, by Nick Hallett    Original Article

The 298 passengers and crew on board the doomed flight MH17 would have been oblivious to what was happening as the missile struck the plane, according to a defence analyst. The Buk SA-11 missile would have hit the plane at various points, igniting the fuel and taking out the engines and wings in less than a second. The passengers on board would have been unconscious almost instantly. Explaining in graphic detail exactly what would have happened as the missile hit the plane, Justin Bronk, a researcher analyst at the Royal United Services Institute, told MailOnline: "An SA-11 missile is designed to

KIEV, Ukraine — The quest for clues in the downing of a Malaysia Airlines jet faced major obstacles Friday as the rebel militias that Ukraine blames for the disaster limited access to the mammoth crash site strewn with airplane parts and bodies. Ukrainian officials were trying to negotiate safe passage for teams of investigators and international observers deep in territory held by the pro-Russian separatists in the east of the country. The fate of the airplane’s black-box data recorders, which could give crucial information about the plane’s final moments, was unclear, with neither side acknowledging possession. And rebels argued among

DETROIT — On the night before her Friday keynote address to a gathering of progressive activists here, Sen. Elizabeth Warren tried to slip into a hotel restaurant for a quiet dinner. But the former law professor has become a liberal superstar, and when a few admirers spotted her walking to the corner of the dining room, they cheered loudly. A moment later, more joined in the applause. Then one urged her, “Run for president!” The next morning at Netroots Nation, where Warren (D-Mass.) gave a fiery sermon for economic populism — “The game is rigged, and it isn’t right!” —

MOSCOW — A suspected Russian-made surface-to-air missile downed a Malaysia Airlines jet in a separatist-controlled corner of eastern Ukraine on Thursday, prompting the Ukrainian government to denounce an “act of terror” that killed all 298 people on board. U.S. intelligence officials confirmed, but could not identify the origins of, the missile strike that led to the deadliest downing of a civilian passenger plane in recent decades. One Ukrainian government official, however, said the Boeing 777 traveling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur appeared to have been hit by an advanced Russian-made missile system that recently came into the hands of the

Obama has a lot of yucky vegetables on his big boy plate, these days. But being president, he doesn´t have to eat them. He can skip all the gross stuff and go right for the ice cream. During the Green Revolution in Iran five years ago, "No Drama Obama"did just that. The Islamic Republic was at a tipping point in the summer of 2009. With just a little encouragement from the US, regime change was possible. That would have been great for the Iranian people and made the world a safer place. Speaking on the Senate floor, Sessions mentioned that just a week before Microsoft´s announcement, Microsoft´s former CEO Bill Gates joined with two other "masters of the universe" to urge Congress to remove limits on the number of guest-worker visas that can be awarded. DENTON, Texas — The council governing a North Texas city that sits atop a large natural gas reserve rejected a bid early Wednesday that would have made it the first city in the state to ban further permitting of hydraulic fracturing in the community. Denton City Council members voted down the petition 5-2 after eight hours of public testimony, sending the proposal to a public ballot in November. Fracking involves blasting a mix of water, sand and chemicals deep into underground rock formations to release trapped oil and gas. While the method has long stirred concerns about its effects on

The Environmental Protection Agency bowed to fierce criticism Wednesday and announced that it had hit the breaks on a fast-tracked plan to collect fines by garnishing paychecks of accused polluters. The agency, which has come under withering attacks from Republican lawmakers for attempting a “power grab,” said it still intended to pursue the new authority to garnish wages without a court order. But now it will follow a more typical and longer review process. Opponents of the wage-garnish rule applauded EPA’s decision. “It’s about time this abuse-prone agency listened to Congress and backtrack on a rule that was clearly an

While much of the focus in the illegal immigrant surge has been on border security, the federal government does a poor job of ensuring relatives who claim children who enter the U.S. illegally are giving them the care they need, according to internal audits that suggest problems remain despite years of warnings. The Obama administration says its priority is to make sure the children get a fair hearing and protections to which they are entitled — but the recent surge has so overwhelmed officials that they are cutting corners in background checks, meaning some children are turned over to parents

JERUSALEM — On a day rattled by a fury of air attacks, Israel and Hamas found themselves Wednesday searching for a way forward, with a senior Israeli military official declaring that a ground invasion of Gaza was a “very high possibility.” Israel announced that it will observe a unilateral “humanitarian truce” for five hours Thursday to allow Gaza residents to stock up on food and other supplies and let aid reach civilians. Four-star Gen. Amos said, the Fiscal Times reported Wednesday. It is rare for an active-duty serviceman to give such blunt public criticism of a sitting president. While

It is at times like these, when he is pushed kicking and screaming into the crucible, that Obama’s callowness shows. For his supporters, that jejune, jocular air has been a plus for almost six years. For the rest of us, it has served as a liability and an irritation. Yesterday, it became a wholesale embarrassment. On the perpetual-campaign trail, the pattern is familiar. Trotting up to the podium, the president fist-bumps the audience’s stragglers and smiles a toothy and humble grin at those who catch his eye. While speaking, he responds to obsequy with obsequy — “I love you too!” he

Now that the U.S.-Russia relationship has broken down, Moscow could throw a wrench into the teetering nuclear negotiations with Iran. The escalating tensions between Washington and Moscow, brought to fever by the MH17 airliner disaster, are finally to the point where they threaten to spoil the number one item on President Obama’s foreign policy agenda: the nuclear talks with Iran. The man doing the threatening is Russian President Vladimir Putin.Earlier this week, Putin promised to retaliate against the United States for new sanctions targeting his friends and business associates, as well as large Russian defense, energy, and financial firms. Political pundits are divided about the merits of House Speaker John Boehner´s lawsuit against President Obama´s employer mandate. The two backing Boehner and two constitutional law experts who oppose the suit testified Wednesday before the House Rules Committee. At his weekly press briefing, CNSNews.com asked Boehner: “You’ve said you disagree with calls to impeach the president over abuse of power via executive actions. But under the Constitution the House actually has the power of the purse. So, if the President takes actions that exceed his Constitutional authority, will you withhold funding for those actions in the next must-pass

Perhaps because Republicans insist on having a secure border before discussing any type of immigration reform legislation. Democrats don’t think people will catch up to this at some point?
