Hours after Microsoft announced that it would be slashing 18,000 jobs on Thursday, Sen. Jeff Sessions (A-AL) issued a challenge to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and other Democrats who voted for the Senate´s comprehensive immigration bill: Prove that there is a shortage of American high-tech workers. Speaking on the Senate floor, Sessions mentioned that just a week before Microsoft´s announcement, Microsoft´s former CEO Bill Gates joined with two other "masters of the universe" to urge Congress to remove limits on the number of guest-worker visas that can be awarded. "So today I´m going to issue a challenge to

It is estimated that there are 12mm American STEM workers who cannot find work in their fields of expertise.

It is the biggest tell in the world today to say there is a shortage of STEM workers. Especially from the Ruling Republican Elite! Their money masters want cheap workers!

Washington Times, by Cheryl K. Chumley    Original Article

An Islamic State terrorist bluntly told a VICE News journalist that his group is going to strike New York City any day now and that his radicalized “brothers” are mobilizing at this very moment. On the video, Farah Shirdon — also called Abu Usamah Somali — said: “[We] will make some attacks in New York soon,” VICE News reported. “A lot of brothers there are mobilizing right now. … Mobilizing for a brilliant attack, my friend.” Mr. Shirdon is a Canadian citizen who went to Iraq to fight with the Islamic State. The Obama administration appears to be losing ground in its efforts to cut U.S. emissions of greenhouse gases, according to new government figures that show pollution levels rising again after several years of gradual decline. Data released Friday by the Energy Department show American factories and power plants putting more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere during the first six months of 2014 compared with the same period in each of the past two years. The figures confirm a reversal first seen in 2013, when the trend of steadily falling emissions abruptly halted. The higher emissions are primarily a reflection of

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin knows how it feels to be targeted by the mainstream media and reload in the face of it. She told social conservatives at Friday´s Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C. that that is why she has always had their backs as fiercely as they have had hers. "You´re the Americans that the media loves to hate," Palin said, calling the room "the most joyful room in Washington" of happy warriors. "I´m speaking to the most slandered group in America today. Our real Syria strategy — containment-plus

Late, hesitant and reluctant as he is, President Obama has begun effecting a workable strategy against the Islamic State. True, he’s been driven there by public opinion. Does anyone imagine that without the broadcast beheadings we’d be doing anything more than pinprick strikes within Iraq? If Obama can remain steady through future fluctuations in public opinion, his strategy might succeed. But success will not be what he’s articulating publicly. The strategy will not destroy the Islamic State. It’s more containment-plus: Expel the Islamic State from Iraq, contain it in Syria. Because you can’t win from the air. In Iraq, we

As the United States mobilized against new Islamist enemies this month, the voice of an aging adversary echoed in the distance. Ayman al-Zawahiri, one of al-Qaeda’s founders and its leader for the past three years, released a video announcing the formation of a new affiliate in India and lamenting the turmoil being caused by the rival Islamic State in Syria. “Oh mujahideen, unite and reject differences and discord,” he said in a pleading tone that seemed to underscore the declining relevance of al-Qaeda’s core, the Pakistan-based group that orchestrated the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. But Zawahiri was silent on a

Eric H. Holder Jr., who made history as the nation’s first African American attorney general and became an icon among liberals but a divisive figure to many conservatives, announced Thursday that he will resign his post. In an emotional ceremony at the White House, President Obama paid tribute to one of the last original members of his Cabinet and a close friend, calling Holder’s departure “bittersweet.” Holder, at one point fighting back tears, cited a series of actions he said his Justice Department took to empower the powerless, ranging from fighting for voting rights to reforming criminal sentences for low-level

President Obama is playing too nice in the air war against the Islamic State and the Khorasan Group, critics say, pointing to a spared bombing target in Syria as an example. Photos of the aftermath of a U.S.-led airstrike late Monday showed that the Islamic State finance center’s rooftop communications array had been destroyed, but the building itself was left intact. The limited effectiveness of the airstrikes is further diminished by the Iraqi security forces’ decidedly mixed results in combat and inability to reverse most gains of the Islamic State, also known by the acronyms ISIL and ISIS. The ad is good, but what’s better is the reaction from the national Democratic Senatorial committee about the ad. This is not the behavior of a winning team. First, the ad. It’s a good ad, tapping into the idea that Sen. Mark Udall has been a creature of Washington for far too long, and that he comes from a family whose aspirations and careers live there, too. Unlike Gardner, who touts his tractor-building Coloradan past and family. A game-changing revolution is brewing across the nation’s political landscape, though it’s getting little serious attention in the liberal news media right now. A growing pile of voter-preference polls now show that the Republicans are on the brink of taking control of the Senate and strengthening their hold on the House in what is shaping up to be a complete repudiation of the Democrats and Barack Obama’s failed presidency. But neither the Obama White House nor the Democrats on Capitol Hill are vocally sounding the alarms about their impending defeat in the upcoming midterm elections. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi

The U.S. ability to pinpoint with airstrikes the operational hubs of the al Qaeda offshoot Khorasan Group in Syria and penetrate one of its bombing plots shows the importance of the much-maligned National Security Agency, defense analysts said Tuesday. The Khorasan Group is an especially hard target because, unlike other al Qaeda spinoffs, it stays in the shadows and refrains from pronouncements on social media. Its goal is to design explosives that can defeat airport security and blow up an airliner, killing hundreds of people. Its prime target: the United States. “Intelligence reports indicated that the Khorasan Group was in

HEBRON, West Bank — Israeli forces on Tuesday shot and killed two Hamas operatives suspected of kidnapping and killing three Israeli teenagers in June. The abduction of the three Jewish students in the West Bank — followed by the Israeli military’s mass arrests of Hamas members — was part of a cascade of events that eventually led to the 50-day war in Gaza, one of the bloodiest in years of conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. Karzai, who will be replaced by President-elect Ashraf Ghani on Monday, accused the American government of spending the past 13 years focused on “its own interests” instead of what was best for the Afghan people. “We don’t have peace because Americans didn’t want peace,” Karzai told a gathering of several hundred Afghan government employees. “If the U.S. wants Afghanistan to be a good friend, it needs to match its words with actions,” Karzai later

We’re being had. Again. For six years, President Obama has endeavored to will the country into accepting two pillars of his alternative national-security reality. First, he claims to have dealt decisively with the terrorist threat, rendering it a disparate series of ragtag jayvees. Second, he asserts that the threat is unrelated to Islam, which is innately peaceful, moderate, and opposed to the wanton “violent extremists” who purport to act in its name. Now, the president has been compelled to act against a jihad that has neither ended nor been “decimated.” The jihad, in fact, has inevitably intensified under his counterfactual

Even though Republicans may take back the Senate by running against amnesty, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush pushed amnesty legislation while stumping for North Carolina Republican Senate candidate Thom Tillis on Wednesday. Bush, according to the New York Times, reportedly said that comprehensive immigration reform "will restore and sustain economic growth for this country." And even though a recent Gallup poll found that illegal immigration is now the top concern among Republicans, Bush said that if immigration reform is "framed in that way, I don’t think there’s a big debate in the Republican Party about the need to do this."

Of all the malfeasances of William Jefferson Clinton the one that would have most justified a removal from office was not the Monica hijinks, even with the attendant lying under oath and absurd parsings of the word “is,” but the pardoning of Marc Rich — the billionaire international commodities trader and mammoth contributor to, er, Clinton. Luckily for Bill, this action occurred on the last day of his presidency, making anything like impeachment moot, even though it was an example of political corruption that would have made Boss Tweed envious. With the mid-term elections weeks away, many conservatives are confronting a difficult choice. Assuming there are no solid conservatives on the ballot, do we vote for establishment candidates? When the U.S. military strikes, its leaders often choose colorful code names for the operation that sometimes stick in history, like Operation Overlord or Rolling Thunder or Desert Storm. Not this time. The U.S.-led air campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria doesn´t have a name. "I know of no plans at this point to name it," Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said Thursday. Since World War II, almost every U.S. military operation, large and small, has had a code name.
