Yesterday, I ran a short post that quoted a June 4th Washington Post story on the role of Karl Rove’s American Crossroads in the Mississippi Senate runoff. The Post reported: American Crossroads, a GOP establishment organization, has decided to shift its political focus almost entirely to the general election and will not be spending money in the likely runoff election to decide the Mississippi Senate nomination that was virtually deadlocked after Tuesday night. I´m not a Rove hater. But this stinks. Like so much of what happened in Mississippi. Is it possible for anyone involved in politics to be honest. Way to clear it up Kristin, it´s clear as mud.

Well, there you go.......the Mississippi Conservatives PAC that got the donation is the one who ran the RACIAL ads against McDaniel. Glad she cleared that bit of information. It also needs to be noted that Mississippi Conservatives PAC did not identify by whom the ad was paid........a violation of the FEC.

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), an immigration hawk, shredded House Speaker John Boehner´s working group border crisis recommendations in a Wednesday afternoon statement, calling Boehner’s plan an “institutional surrender to the planned illegality” of President Barack Obama. “The border crisis is the direct and predictable result of the President’s sustained policies undermining America’s immigration laws,” Sessions said in his statement on the Boehner working group proposal. Sessions said: The President’s continued determination to carry out this nullification remains the singular obstacle in the way of restoring lawfulness. It is therefore odd that the House working group did not mention

It´s not every day that a House Republican charges that the powerful U.S. Chamber of Commerce is "in the pocket of Communist China." But Michigan freshman Rep. Kerry Bentivolio did just that on Thursday when he announced he would return the Spirit of Enterprise Award he received from the group earlier this Congress. “It is with great pride that I reject their award, and call on them to stand on the side of America, instead of on the side of China and corporate interests seeking to exploit people for profit,” Bentivolio said in a press release. His chief of staff, Rob Wasinger, gave

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has jumped into a Republican congressional primary in Michigan, trying to defeat incumbent Rep. Justin Amash. Amash´s crime: being stubbornly consistent in opposing big government. The Chamber´s endorsement of Amash´s opponent helps clarify some things that have long been true, but which have been muddled in the public eye and used against conservatives. The first myth put to rest: Libertarianism and free enterprise are defenses of Big Business. The second myth exposed: Challenging an incumbent in a primary is somehow impious or unsporting. Amash is arguably the strongest defender of free enterprise in the House. His rating from the

What if the GOP wins the White House and Congress in 2016? What then, GOP, Limbaugh asks. "I would wager that many of my Establishment friends will continue to advise restraint, urging us not to drastically roll back Obama´s liberal policies, either because they´ll be horrified about the next election or because they have really, in the end, lost their stomach for political battle and their taste for free market principles," Limbaugh writes. I don´t think Congress should begin impeachment proceedings against President Obama right now, but I also don´t think that considering the idea is "crazy talk." The man has, in my view and that of many others, committed multitudinous impeachable offenses, and we need to strenuously object and bring it to the public´s attention every chance we get. The idea of turning our heads and looking the other way is repugnant. Yes, the elections are too close for Republicans to risk impeachment proceedings at this point, unless it became clear that the majority of Americans have the political will for that

Some Republicans are beginning to extend their free-market, limited-government beliefs to include opposition to corporate welfare, like the Export-Import Bank. Many conservatives hate the idea of centralized education standards driven by a coalition of unaccountable bureaucrats and big business. K Street lobbyist and former GOP congressional aide John Feehery warns that this is a dangerous for the Right to walk, asking: What would happen if Big Business decided to change sides? What would happen if the Chamber of Commerce suddenly stopped being a huge fundraising machine for the Republican Party and started financing pro-business Democrats?

The Netflix documentary Mitt ought to be required viewing for American voters, and particularly the low-information types who cast their ballots for Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election. Mitt chronicles the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, and in it one can see the effects a long and grueling presidential campaign can have on a candidate and his family. One can also see the chasm between who a man really is and what he’s portrayed to be by his political opponents and the media. The Romney in Mitt is a man America would happily choose as its president:

I was making an argument in that column against majoritarianism (and that is a critical issue, as explained in this video), but there’s also a very mportant moral component to this debate. Walter Williams addresses this issue in his latest column. He starts by asking a hypothetical question.
