Reid: ‘Dreamers’ here legitimately
The Hill (Washington DC), by Alexander Bolton

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says immigrants who came to the country illegally at a young age are now legitimate residents and should not be deported. Reid made the remarks in response to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who is demanding that an emergency spending bill for the border reverse President Obama’s 2012 order halting deportations of so-called Dreamers. “Before Republicans help our Border Patrol agents and all the personnel trying to do something to handle this humanitarian crisis, they want President Obama to deport the Dreamers who are already here, legitimately here,” he said on the Senate floor Thursday morning. Somebody in the media should ask Reid under what immigration law was the status of the so-called "Dreamers" changed to that of legal residents as there is none that was passed by Congress.

There is no requirement that the "Dreamers" who are benefiting from Obama´s illegal amnesty get good grades or serve in the military, those are just inventions to give Obama some cover with people who have not been paying attention. All the "Dreamers" have to do is claim that they came into the USA before age 16. There is nobody to verify that claim, as the alien smugglers along the borderline do not give dated receipts when they render their unlawful services to illegal aliens.

Schools are required to educate these children. It does not make any sense to pay to educate children, or college students and then deport them. I suppose that is another discussion for another time. For now we need to figure out how to solve the problem, not how to gain political advantage from it.

No, U.S. schools are NOT required to provide services to illegal aliens.

Never mind the fact that what they do to young American citizens can scarcely be called an education.

The state Senate on Friday gave final legislative approval to a measure that would phase out single-use plastic bags in supermarkets, pharmacies and convenience stores as part of an effort to rid beaches and streets of litter. The measure, which now goes to Gov. Jerry Brown for consideration, would allow stores to charge customers 10 cents to provide paper or reusable plastic bags as an alternative to single-use bags. California would be the first state government to approve such a ban although the bags are outlawed throughout Hawaii because of local jurisdiction laws. Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Pacoima) said his bill just

NEWPORT, R.I.— President Barack Obama on Friday blamed dysfunction in Congress on a Republican Party he said is captive to an ideologically rigid, unproductive and cynical faction, urging like-minded Democrats to show up for November´s midterm elections. Addressing Democratic donors at a fundraiser in Rhode Island and another in New York, Obama said Republicans had realized that blocking all progress led Americans to become cynical about government. Republicans consider that "a pretty good thing" because they don´t believe in government to begin with, Obama said.

intelligence community has observed a “significant increase” in chatter among terrorist organizations as the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks nears. “We’ve noticed a significant increase in chatter among Islamic terrorist organizations overseas both on the Internet and phone lines,” a U.S. government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Blaze. While the intelligence community can not pinpoint whether or not an attack is planned, the official said that agencies “did see this kind of increase in chatter before the September 11 attacks.”
