It´s going to be hot tubs, basketball, tennis and golf for the first family this summer, having set plans for a 16-day vacation in Martha´s Vineyard, Mass., on a $12 million, 10-acre forested estate on the southwestern corner of the island. Reports from the Bay State indicate that President Obama and his family will vacation August 9-24 at the 8,100-square foot, beachfront home of a Democratic donor that includes a pool, hot tub, basketball and tennis court. It will be new digs for the first family, who have summered on tony Martha´s Vineyard every year of Obama´s presidency, except in 2012 when

How nice.

Meanwhile, there is a temporary flight restriction centered over Martha´s Vineyard, obliterating airspace over MVY, Nantucket, and much of Cape Cod. Too bad for the poor clubs who have to miss 16 days of their high-season livelihood so His Most Excellency and entourage can pretend to be beautiful people.

Obamas are making a big deal about this vacation...I wonder how many other "little" trips they have taken this summer that were kept under the radar. (Or the media refused to report in accordance with the requirements set out by the White House.)

Fundamental transformation of the country - as promised - by allowing thousands of illegal aliens to flood over the southern borders... and nobody can do a thing about it! No serious challenges from anywhere of importance, the media behind his back... Everything´s going swimmingly. Enjoy your much deserved rest, Mr. President. Perhaps we´ll have a 16 day vacation from your destruction of the country. One can hope.

It probably really does wear down Øvomit to have his homosexual side battling his muslim side. Oh the internal conflict.

Add to that all the energy it takes to actively destroy this once-great nation.

He needs a vacation to rest up to really put the final nails in the coffin of the USA during his lame-duck final two years of his reign of terror. All the destruction he has to do to this nation before he leave office will take a lot of energy...

President Obama’s call on Wednesday for the United States to lead an international military campaign in the Middle East has the potential to begin a departure from the isolationism that he and former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton have advocated during their years in office. There is a risk, however, that the president’s focus on a counterterrorism campaign akin to those waged in Yemen and Somalia, and his reliance on regional partners to deal with the challenge posed by the Islamic State, could lead to the continuation of what has been the most disengaged presidential foreign policy in modern American history.

How did a man who made it into the elite SEALs and lived lavishly while running his own money-lending firm end up homeless near an offramp? It may have been the $1 million he stole. Navy SEALs divide their own into two groups. As they see it, there are the good mugs you can count on, and then there are the 10 percenters, the minority who slip through the screening process and bring disgrace on everyone else. Jason Mullaney might have started off in the first category, but after conning 11 fellow SEALs out of more than $1 million, he’s decidedly in the second. When police caught up with Mullaney in 2012, he’d run through the

When you are dealing with an administration whose officials look you in the eye and tell you the Muslim Brotherhood is a “largely secular” organization, it’s tempting to laugh off the idiocy spouted by President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry about how the Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam. We should resist the temptation, though, because there is a dangerous purpose behind the laughable assertion. Obviously, Bing West and Daniel Pipes are correct that the terrorist group is entirely Islamic. As I’ve been arguing here more times and for more years than I care to remember, what

In bad midterm-election years, members of a president´s party often find the political climate challenging. In some ways, it is like a swimmer encountering riptides or facing strong undertows. The degree of the danger varies from location to location, and in many cases, weak swimmers struggle in this environment; occasionally, even an Olympic-level swimmer perishes. In 2010—President Obama´s first midterm election—Democratic congressional candidates struggled mightily. The party suffered a net loss of six Senate seats and 63 seats in the House. That was the worst loss for either party in any election since 1948, and the largest loss in a

At the supermarket near his home in central Virginia, Tom Burford likes to loiter by the display of Red Delicious. He waits until he spots a store manager. Then he picks up one of the glossy apples and, with a flourish, scrapes his fingernail into the wax: T-O-M. “We can’t sell that now,” the manager protests. To which Burford replies, in his soft Piedmont drawl: “That’s my point.” Burford, who is 79 years old, is disinclined to apple destruction. His ancestors scattered apple seeds in the Blue Ridge foothills as far back as 1713, and he grew up with more than 100 types

With all of the other news ricocheting around the media and social networks, this may seem like a sleeper of a story, but it’s a bigger deal than one might think — literally as well as figuratively. Last night, House Republicans unveiled their proposed continuing resolution that will fund government well past the midterm elections, and it won’t make conservatives like Rep. Jeb Hensarling too happy. The proposal calls for a simple extension of current funding, plus some extra cash to deal with the Ebola outbreak in Africa and more flexibility on the use of cash for border security. In the latest round of polls, President Obama´s approval ratings are lowest on the two issues that once were strengths—foreign policy and immigration. In this week´s ABC News/Washington Post poll, only 31 percent of Americans approved of his handling of immigration, an issue that he recently hoped to wield as a political weapon against the Republican Party. And the same survey showed his approval on international affairs at just 38 percent—the lowest point of his presidency and an 8-point drop from late July—even as he catered to the creeping isolationist sentiment in the country. Coakley took 42 percent of the vote to Steve Grossman’s 36 percent and Don Berwick’s 21 percent on Tuesday’s election. Coakley’s six-point margin is a rather uncomfortable primary win, particularly given that Coakley had a 20-point lead in The Boston Globe poll as recently as two weeks ago. Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. Check your hygiene privilege. Cabbies who smell badly are probably just oppressed folks who came directly from their terrorist training camp to the airport and didn’t have time to change. Body odour is among 52 criteria that officials at San Diego International Airport use to judge taxi drivers. Cabbies say that smacks of prejudice and discrimination. It does discriminate between cabbies who smell like an open sewer and those who don’t. It further prejudges what a good smell is.
