Sen. Cruz: ‘Mr. President, When

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) criticized Senate Democrats and their legislation to circumvent the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision by explaining that their bill would impose “faith fines” on groups like the Little Sisters of the Poor, who refuse to subsidize abortion-inducing drugs, and asked, “Mr. President, when did the Democratic Party declare war on the Catholic Church?” “The bill that is being voted on this floor, if it were adopted, would fine the Little Sisters of the Poor millions of dollars unless these Catholic nuns are willing to pay for abortion-producing drugs for others,” said Sen. To my dismay, a lot of Catholics are Liberal. Did they cause this by empowering the Liberals in the first place? That´s my question.

While Roman Catholics get most of the press, not unusual since they are the largest and most widespread denomination, people never seem to mention the second largest denomination, Southern Baptists, whose views on abortion, gays and women clergy are the same as the Roman Catholic Church. An attack on Catholics is also an attack on Southern Baptists (as well as some much smaller denominations). Not a good idea Rats.

Catholics somehow bought into the idea that the government and not the church should be the primary agent for social welfare. Now the government thinks it can instruct the church on what they should believe. Wake up Catholics.

#1 - That´s not the point. It´s the assault on the First Amendment.

I do agree a lot of Catholics are Democrats - but not necessarily liberal in the current political sense.

What´s wrong with these Republicans???
Cruz is the only one highlighting fact that the Dem Party is spitting upon their Liberal icons- JFK and Ted.

Christianity has many enemies, many being people who claim to be Christian (CINOs). The Catholic Church is just one of many Churches being attacked and continues to tollerate it.
I would think it´s about time the "Church" excommunicated a bunch of these Trojan Horses... to get there attention or weed out the chaff. But it never seems to happen... I know, forgiveness, right? Well, until the "Church" takes a stand, these sinners will never know they are? That can´t be right either.
Politicians who believe they can believe one way in their public life and another in their private life are dangerous deceivers. It´s time to hold their feet to the fire. The "Church" can do somethin about it... so do it!

Historically, the Country Club wing of the republican has never liked Catholics. Even now, note how Crossroads and the establishment show clear preferences for candidates avoiding pro life or anti gay marriage rhetoric. The democratic party has lots of silent partners on the opposite side of the aisle.

Christians, by our core beliefs, turn the other cheek. The Demon-RATS can safely attack us over and over again, knowing the worst we will do is complain and file impotent lawsuits.

Sadly, Christians may need some muslim group to get caught up in this and raise hell (as only they do so very strongly) before the Demon-RATS will back down. The muslims will not waste time with lawsuits. They will declare jihad and show no mercy...

As a practicing Catholic, I am well aware that many Catholics are Democrats; maybe even a majority. Similarly, most Jews are Democrats.
I believe that they are simply lifelong members of the Democrat Party perhaps because of their heritage, upbringing, blue collar roots, memory of JFK--whatever. But they are NOT leftists. And the Democrat has become Leftist.
Maybe this stupid bill needs to get passed. It will be overturned by SCOTUS anyhow. But it will be a wake-up call to those Catholics who automatically vote the straight Dem ticket, just because they always have, and ke them realize who the real enemy is.

Please note: 43 US SENATORS VOTED IN FAVOR OF THIS HATEFUL BILL!

The fact that three of them carry the (R) after their name is irrelevant. 43% of US Senators voted to fine religious freedom. Think about that.

Oh, and about Senator Patty Murray, the author of this bill. Recollect that in 2002 she had this to say about Osama bin Laden: “We’ve got to ask, why is this man so popular around the world? Why are people so supportive of him in many countries that are riddled with poverty? Osama bin Laden has been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven’t done that.” [She´s been reelected twice since.]

There is only one religion which is approved. The approved religion is the faith in the State, which by definition is perfect. The State can do all, can take care of all, and has all power. Any failure to believe in the State is Heresy, and punishable by law.
This is called Statism.
The USSR was ruled by Statists. The USSR no longer exists.
Now that the US is ruled by Statists, her days are numbered as well.

Pasta maker Barilla apologized four times for its chairman’s goofy, gay-dissing remarks last fall. But the company’s culinary orientation is beyond forgiving, judging by its recently opened, quick-serve Manhattan cafe. Since Academia Barilla launched a few months ago, reviewers have ignored it, even though the press couldn’t get enough of Barilla during last year’s uproar. Maybe it’s a boycott as demanded by gay-rights organizations after Barilla chairman Guido Barilla said he’d never use gays in commercials because he prefers “traditional” families.

Many conservatives hate the idea of centralized education standards driven by a coalition of unaccountable bureaucrats and big business. K Street lobbyist and former GOP congressional aide John Feehery warns that this is a dangerous for the Right to walk, asking: What would happen if Big Business decided to change sides? What would happen if the Chamber of Commerce suddenly stopped being a huge fundraising machine for the Republican Party and started financing pro-business Democrats?
