Soccer Balls, Sanctimony and A
Billion Dollar Group Called “Baptist
Child and Family Services”…

Conservative Treehouse, by Sundance

Original Article

A few days ago we posted some details, and a large dose of opinion, about the latest misguided efforts of Glenn Beck’s “Bold and Sanctimonious Tour” – and a strange thing happened…. few, if any, thought our critical outline was controversial. It would appear the Patriotic U.S. Sleeping Giant is awake, at least on this issue. What follows below is a little more depth on the issue of “Faith Based” organizations and those receiving federal grants to facilitate illegal immigration. We have received numerous requests to turn the eye of research into exactly what these organizations are. Specifically, one group

Comments:
"Baptist Child & Family Services" ...that dropped "Baptist" from its name and is now just "BCFS", which stands for about nothing. A visit to their website will verify this - and yield little info about who they are. All behind a registration/password wall. No apparent connection to the Baptist church.

Oops.

Federal Charity courtesy of the U.S. Taxpayer. Is it really “charity” when the federal government is using the IRS to collect the “offering”?

I cannot tell you how much this angers me. It gives all legitimate Christian non-profits a bad name and reflects poorly on the church as a whole.

While everyone knows bad apples are found in every barrel, to find such gross impropriety under the cover of charity is more than despicable. It´s bad enough we Christians have to endure the inanities and immoralities of many TV evangelists, but to uncover this nest of vipers just adds to the piling on.

As for Glenn Beck, he may be prescient in some things, and for that he gets credit, but this latest hysterical reaction of his is just plain nutty.

Heard Michael Savage say other nite that Catholic Charities have received Two BILLION Dollars from the U.S. government. I believe him.

Several years ago, when it was discovered that Officers in Catholic Charities were Pro-Abortion, their donations from parishioners really dropped. I never donate to them anymore.

I would think if Catholic Charities became more orthodox and less progressive, that their donations would skyrocket, and they would not have to partner with the United States Government anymore.

How come some people are so selective when they complain about when churches can and cannot partner with the state?

Here is an article from the Baptist Press (published by the Southern Baptist Convention) that talks in detail about BCFS:

http://townhall.com/news/religion/2014/07/07/nonprofit-defends-care-of-child-refugees-n1859734

BCFS has been operating the facility for illegal alien invaders at Lackland AFB, the one that has received so much negative publicity for its secretive tactics.

BCFS had planned to spend $50 million of its latest $190+ million federal grant to convert the Palm Aire Resort into a facility to house more of these illegals. They backed out of this when the publicity became v. negative.

Sunlight and transparency are their enemies, apparently. Operating below the radar has been their MO. And raking in a ton of our taxpayer dollars in grants.

The payroll information alone is stunning. Usually a good place to start when evaluating "charities"..

The Feds have been financing this invasion of UAC since Obama took office- there is no surprise.
These salaries are obscene.
They funneled this money to these bureaucrats masquerading as religious charity all the while stripping MEDICARE.
HHS and DHS are enabling illegal immigration.

And to think that the residential facility where my 40-yr-old disabled daughter lives (a Catholic "charity") is constantly brow-beating and threatening to throw us out if we don´t cough up thousands of dollars each year above and beyond her Medicaid, SS payment. The govt is a thief. This needs so be sent to a reporter with liberal credentials but a brain in his/her head. Any ideas??

Absolutely a Must Read! This is scandalous.

This one organization got over $200 million in one month for illegals. The CEO makes almost $500,000. Total salaries of employees equals 33 million, completely funded by grant money (tax dollars).

I wonder what CEO´s ties are to Obama, Jarrett and the Dems.

Yes, #8.

And just who are these "employees" and how many of them are there, who are recipients of the 33 million?

One can not help but think of all the "green" companies which received billions and billions out of the so-called "Stimulus" bill... nicely lined the very deep pockets of Friends of Obama (and other Democrats).

And the Dem/Lefties are constantly screaming for more and more and more money from the struggling taxpayer.

truly sickening.

In answer to the ending question "Is this charity" ? the answer is NO - it´s big business with high paid managers. This also explains the sanctimony where charitable groups talk about charity and say nothing about the cause of the crisis as they take on the task of resettling the flood of illegal immigrants. Yes we are all so inspired by your unselfish charity. You put the rest of us to shame! /s

The invasion of our country by illegal aliens has provided a windfall for companies like BCFS.

I call it a company, because that is what it is. How a "charity" can be called "non-profit" when it pays salaries like this to its management is beyond me.

After it was revealed recently that a board member of Catholic Charities in Florida was actually the same lobbyist for Planned Parenthood that said infanticide should be a matter between a woman and her doctor, this story exposes the fact that CCUSA is a dues-paying member and on the board of an organization that lobbied Congress to maintain funding for Planned Parenthood..

A new study, published Wednesday in Nature, is setting off a new round of debate around this question. The study’s authors argue that a review of all known cases when chimpanzees or bonobos in Africa killed members of their own species shows that violence is a natural part of chimp behavior and not the result of actions by humans that push chimp aggression to lethal attacks. The researchers say their analysis supports the idea that warlike violence in chimps is a natural behavior that

It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today. Here are four examples of Jesus’ teachings that everybody gets wrong: 1.
