Tesco Apologises After Muslim Worker Refuses
to Serve Woman Buying Ham and Alcohol

Breitbart London [UK], by Nick Hallett

The Tesco supermarket chain has apologised after a Muslim staff member refused to serve a customer because he said it was Ramadan. The devout cashier said he could not touch the ham and wine as it was forbidden. [Snip] Miss Cottle told the Daily Mail that she was furious about the way she was treated: “He pointed at the ham and wine in my basket and said ‘I can’t serve you that because I’m fasting’.” “When I told him he should be serving customers not turning them away he still refused, telling me to go to the self-service.

She should have just left the wine and ham in her basket and walked out with them unpaid for.
If the cashier does not want to ring things up, then they are free.

This is absolutely ridiculous, by the way. The ham and wine were in sealed containers, so there was no touching involved. And, of course, the cashier could have worn gloves.

No, this was about some arrogant muslim imposing his will and silly islamic beliefs on a customer.
Me? I would have clocked him.

Target had the same problem..
some would-be-terrorist somali MAN in a Minneapolis Target refused to touch a package of ham i was buying and called over an American to check that one item out..

that was a couple of years ago and i think they checked into their somali employees after that, and have those guys stocking shelves.. i have seen few, if any, on the checkout lanes lately..
for SOME reason it apparently doesn´t concern Somali WOMEN at WALMART!
seems most of THEIR checkout people are Somali (note capital) women who are the NICEST, most PERSONABLE people i´ve met - AND speak perfect English..
maybe just a better culture at WalMart than Target..

So how is he different from the CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreen´s pharmacists who refused to sell contraceptives because it violated their religious beliefs?

The religious exemption will apply to everyone, not just Christians and Jews.

Contracts supersede the Constitution. => employees must violate their religious beliefs, in the course of their employment, if the contract does not specifically preclude such violations.

Example: A union shop must provide insurance for abortions, if covered by a union contract. If not covered by a contract, the union shop may deny such insurance.

Example: McDonalds Catholic employees, taste testing new hamburgers, cannot claim ´Good Friday´ exemptions unless they have a contract to do so.

If you work for Kmart, CVS, Rite Aid, or any other chain pharmacy, do you have the right to refuse to dispense birth control pills because the use of them contradicts your religious beliefs? Not just morning after pills, but contraceptives.

We made the mistake of hiring one where I used to be on staff..... What a nightmare; was constantly complaining if other staff eat ham, etc for their meals. During Ramadan tried to make everyone leave the office for meal breaks, just went off if someone brought a dog into the office and tried to dictate what pictures could or could not be hung in the office.

And after all of that she certainly didn´t pray five times a day - not once in the whole time she worked there. I think she just used her religion to create problems and try to get preferential treatment.

There is something very wrong with our politics. Whatever the outcome in Scotland, whatever the result of the by-election in Clacton--this is serious. A certain amount of disaffection is inevitable in a democratic country. The people who do not get what they voted for--or what they feel they deserve, whichever way they voted--will believe that the system has denied them what is rightfully theirs, and that they have somehow been cheated. But this has now gone way, way beyond the kind of anger and disappointment that is inevitable in a system where the will of the majority always dominates. If

San Francisco & Washington - Islamic State´s Twitter users, which have trumpeted the group´s violent acts and worldview on the social media service, have gone abruptly quiet in past days.
