Atlanta police have warrant for
suspect in June attack on bicyclist

Atlanta Journal-Constitution [GA], by Daniel Wilco

Atlanta police issued a warrant Wednesday for an Atlanta man on attempted murder and other charges for the vehicular assault on a local bicyclist June 9. Police are seeking Joseph Alan Lewis, 19, as a suspect in the attack on Gregory T. Germani, 50, in the Morningside neighborhood. Lewis’ girlfriend Shanelle Woodard, 22, also of Atlanta, was arrested Wednesday and charged with tampering with evidence. (Snip) Police say the car hit Germani before speeding away. Germani suffered serious injuries to the head, neck, and torso. Witnesses say that Germani and the driver of the vehicle engaged in a verbal dispute

Comments:
Middle-aged white man (described as mild-mannered in the linked article) on a bicycle nearly gets clipped by an SUV, yells something at the driver, who turns out to be a young black man. The disrespected party makes a U-turn, runs over and drags the bicyclist some 50 feet, and takes off. Will this crime make international headlines?

After a similar incident (no racial aspect) where a motorist tried to hit me with his car, and after I shook a fist at him, stopped, reversed and approached with a tire iron - I now carry a gun at all times when biking.
The good news is that my shout that I was calling 911 deterred the thug - although it was unlikely that the county sheriff could have arrived in time to stop it.

Two cyclists on a country road, single file on the edge of the road just seem to irritate a tiny fraction of folks to no end.

Gee, and the Feds are still waiting for those two Black Panthers charged with voter intimidation to turn themselves in. Hope is a wonderful thing but don´t be an idiot about it.

Children were taught that all Christians are liars and attempts were made to introduce Sharia law in classrooms as part of an alleged ´Trojan Horse´ takeover plot of Birmingham schools, an inquiry has found. The inquiry commissioned by Birmingham City Council found evidence of religious extremism in 13 schools as school governors and teachers tried to promote and enforce radical Islamic values. Schools put up posters warning children that if they didn´t pray they would "go to hell", Christmas was cancelled and girls were taught that women who refused to have sex with their husbands would be "punished" by angels

Los Angeles — Laura Whitney and her husband, Michael Korte, don´t know whether they´re being good citizens during a drought or scofflaws. On the same day the state approved mandatory outdoor watering restrictions with the threat of $500 fines, the Southern California couple received a letter from their city threatening a $500 penalty for not watering their brown lawn. It´s brown because of their conservation, which, besides a twice-a-week lawn watering regimen, includes shorter showers and larger loads of laundry. The Government needs to make it “easier and cheaper” for councils to bring in lower speed limits to reduce the number of cyclists killed Britain’s road, an influential group of MPs has said. The call for more 20mph speed limits by the Transport Select Committee was accompanied by a demand for a five-fold increase in cycling infrastructure spending to cut casualties. The policy recommendations come in a major new report into cycling safety released today. It argues for a “cultural change” to ease the tensions between motorists and cyclists and calls for the appointment of a “cycling tsar” to coordinate policy

It is covered in about 90 carved indentations, or “cups”, and grooved spirals, along with a ringed cross and
