Jonathan Turley to Congress:
You face self-destruction if
you don’t rein in Obama

Hot Air, by AllahPundit

Via the Daily Caller, an elegant opening statement from today’s House Rules Committee hearing on Boehner’s separation-of-powers lawsuit. You’ve heard him make this argument before but he’s getting more apocalyptic with each appearance before Congress — and who can blame him? The last time he testified, Obama wasn’t babbling to activists about amnestizing five million illegals with a stroke of his pen. Today Turley calls O’s rhetoric about unilateral action “extreme” and warns the committee that Congress will effectively self-destruct if the executive is allowed to do what he wants whenever there’s gridlock. After all, in a system of limited

I loved him during the Clinton impeachment year, but he folded like a cheap tent. He seems to mean what he says, but in the end, he´s an Obama supporter.

The GOP lives in fear of doing anything that might not be well-received by the media and/or public. They just want to get to November and take control of the Senate and not have to stick their heads up and risk doing anything impolitic. Obama and the Dims know this. They are playing the GOP paralysis for all its worth by doing and saying whatever they want, as a way to try to goad the GOP into responding and getting them to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Will the country last until November? Its not looking good right now.

Obviously, congress. I´m sure I speak for the GOP base when I ask which is worse - a president who flaunts the law, or a congress that refuses to do its job and hold a lawless president accountable?

No president has ever been allowed to get away with a smidgin of what congress knowingly has let Lightbringer get away with. Whose fault is that?

Congress is impotent. They can´t simplify the Tax Code. They can´t reign in the EPA, the IRS, Homeland Security, or any of the other mini-Gestapos of the federal government. They can´t do the simplest thing to stop the growth of government. It has to be done for them, and the way to do it is to shut off the money.

This congress, with few exceptions seems to sit in the hallowed halls only to keep the seats warm. They are useless. This is primarily due to lack of leadership and the fact they feel they should be fighting their base rather than those across the aisle. Change leaders and think about who would be the best. The years of Nan from Fran seem to have been the hemlock to poison the well (so to speak)

Vice President Biden told Vladimir Putin that he did not believe the Russian leader had “a soul” during a visit to the Kremlin in 2011, the vice president said in a New Yorker magazine interview published Monday. Biden said the incident occurred while he was touring Putin’s office in the Kremlin. “I had an interpreter, and when he was showing me his office I said, ‘It’s amazing what capitalism will do, won’t it? A magnificent office!’ And he laughed. As I turned, I was this close to him,” Biden said, signaling that the two leaders were standing just inches apart. “I

Has there been a presidential photo op this year that raised as much of a stir as Barack Obama in the Rose Garden with Robert and Jani Bergdahl? They are the parents of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the last American held prisoner in Afghanistan, released over the Memorial Day weekend to some fanfare. Yet his story didn’t turn out to be the feel-good page turner that some in the Obama administration might have imagined. From the announcement that the administration had traded five Taliban commanders for Bergdahl’s release, his story has been anything but simple. Several members of his unit stepped

WASHINGTON— President Barack Obama said Joe Biden would make a "superb" president, but questioned whether his vice president or potential rival Hillary Clinton would want to endure another campaign for the White House, a media report Monday said. Obama, in an interview with the New Yorker, said Biden "has seen the job up close, he knows what the job entails. He understands how to separate what´s really important from what´s less important. I think he´s got great people skills. He enjoys politics, and he´s got important relationships up on the Hill (in Congress) that would serve him well." "Joe would

It’s called “America: Imagine the World without Her.” There is a companion book to it: America: Imagine a World without Her. There is a slight difference in those two titles. Did you notice? The film says “the World” and the book says “a World.” Curious. Dinesh’s first movie was 2016: Obama’s America, which appeared right in the middle of the 2012 presidential election campaign. It has been said many times that Hillary Clinton’s lack of warmth and empathy cost her the 2008 Democratic candidacy. A friend of mine who is a respected editor told me that she finds her smug and cold. Before our meeting, I watched her appearance on BBC One’s magazine programme The One Show, a televisual happening that was described as “Einstein doing Play School”. I’d go one step further: it was Einstein loving every second of being on Play School. Everything Clinton was asked she responded to with charm, apparent sincerity and, most surprising of all, firecracker wit. When asked

At a political event in Wilmington, Delaware, on Thursday, President Obama devoted only 40 seconds to the shooting down of the Malaysian airline, his first statement to the world following the news. His emotionless reference to the attack as ‘a terrible tragedy’ seemed disconnected from the horrific moment, particularly as he immediately reverted to script to praise his administration and criticise Republicans. It was a far cry from President Reagan’s 1983 fierce denunciation of the Soviet shooting down of a Korean airliner as a ‘crime against humanity’. LOS ANGELES — Actor James Garner, whose whimsical style in the 1950s TV Western “Maverick” led to a stellar career in TV and films such as “The Rockford Files” and his Oscar-nominated “Murphy’s Romance,” has died, police said. He was 86. He was found dead of natural causes at his home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles Saturday evening, Los Angeles police officer Alonzo Iniquez said early Sunday. Police responded to a call around 8 p.m. PDT and confirmed Garner’s identity from family members, Iniquez told The Associated Press. There was no immediate word on a more specific cause of death. Garner had suffered a stroke in May 2008, just weeks after his 80th birthday.

A pernicious, little-known Obama administration policy – one that that incentivizes adult illegal immigrants to use children as human shields to escape arrest and deportation at the border – largely has escaped the media’s notice. This same policy is driving the historic surge of children at the border, as everyone from coyotes to illegal immigrant adults already in America seeks to use children to guarantee their safe passage into the country, or to protect them from deportation if they are illegally living here.
